omg yes, I just recently decided to actually look for videos of it cause I couldn't find the exact style that I used to practice. Stopped at 5 kyu and one failed attempt at 4 kyu
When I was still doing karate and went to tournaments; I remembered that one time instead of shouting "hai" or whatever you spell it as, I shouted the name of the kata.. Very embarassing indeed
Even for my black belt exam ,I was up against a tough opponent...I couldn't even say it...I hit him a lot but ended up getting a draw...just cause I kept forgetting
I’m so glad I decided to start taking lessons. I’m 34 and wish I would have started years ago. It’s such a solid mental, physical and spiritual workout, and I’ve noticed a more positive change in attitude. I tried following along to these videos and doing it myself which didn’t help much, having a real Shihan to learn from is making all the difference in the world. I don’t know any of you people but I’m guessing there’s a whole lot of good people reading this. Keep up the hard work guys! My yellow belt test is in February, any tips on what I’ll be needing to know?
My yellow belt test is tommorrow. Just remember to practise the following: Stomach level punch Head level punch Forward punch Side back fist Short punch Rising elbow strike Round elbow strike Head level block Inside hooking block Outside block Groin sweeping block Downward block Long fighting stance Horse riding stance Sumo stance and finally front kick. Good luck
Hi to all. A good point, is to pay attention to all your moves with the correct time whenever you shoot a punch or a block, start always with all your body from a relaxed status to end when you strike with all the muscles in your body completely contracts. Repeat each technique with the same procedure and so on until the end of the Kata. Good luck!
I don't know how and where and which martial arts I should go for? 😢 And my age is 20 and I also don't have much time because of college work. But I want to learn. I currently am just doing free style, anything that I can do I'm doing.

Oss I am white belt and I have my exam in 28 February I am very exited and also afraid of I hope I will pass the exam smoothly and I can't do kata properly so I am watching this video to learn this kata and I hope I learn it on today and please pray for me
This moveset is a special memory for me. One of the first things I learnt in karate training and my sensei was great. I stopped after orange belt as I wasn't fit enough to keep up and school has swallowed any time I have. But every so so, when I get excercise time, I try this. A good base skill and good exercise
I just started about 2 weeks ago and have been struggling with this (Perks of being a newbie). Thank you for the slow, yet helpful demonstration. Hopefully I can use this to improve!
@@bentaylor9021he beat up his bully in high school at a karate tournament and became a car salesman and opened up a dojo to fight against his high school bullies dojo until they became friends The end :
Ahhh, how nostalgic, i stop karate at the belt of blue, i was supposed to be promoted and have the violet belt but i couldn't attend because I'm busy that time, i miss my sensei i wish i could start over again

👍 Master Funakoshi said this about Taikyoku Kata: Because of its simplicity, the kata is easily learned by beginners. Nevertheless, as its name implies, this form is of the most profound character and one to which, upon mastery of the art of karate, an expert will return to select it as the ultimate training kata (page 42 Karate-Do Kyohan). 👍
I have just started karate and I’m 11. I love it so much and it helps me with everything. Thank you for this because when the people in my class does the turns for kata I really just don’t understand it 💀. I’m like “ how are you supposed to stay like that if ur turning” 💀
I learned my full kata after 3rd lesson mate i don't why you are grading if you don't know the kata yet you should know that in your sleep before you can grade. I think your dojo is selling belts.
Omg when I was 10 years old I began to practice tae kwondo and I learned more than 10 katas, I forgot many of them but the first one has being always in my mind Subhanallah. Now I am waiting my first boy and I want to remember this sport. Many thx for bringing soooo good memories into my mind
If you notice, this guy is looking over the opposite shoulder from the direction he is going to turn. I've studied Isshin Ryu, Shorin Ryu, Okinawa Kenpo, Tang Soo Do, and now Shotokan, and in each one, I was taught to look in the direction you are turning.
I had a very dedicated master (trainer) who worked with us very striktly and passionately. The result was when I did my first tournament, I was forth place among black belts. I was only green belt. Good days.
main thing to remember is not to move up and down too much when you're moving forwards. Also not leaning too far forwards when moving backwards. Staying upright in your posture is one of the keys. I have red belt in GKR, they pulled me up for this going to green.
My memory of this kata is about 35 years old. I loved karate, but my sensei was an absolute mental case. Entire dojo was abandoned eventually. Wish there had been somewhere I could have continued.
After taking years of does Japanese karate Shotokan I have noticed so many people there improper Kata stands, as this is the most perfect Kata I've ever experienced. Especially in his punches moving punch and the way he hold up his fist. I've seen numerous black belts whose technique were so improper.
To the person performing this kata: please correct your stepping footwork to prevent tripping... Remember that in combat a large sweeping movement is easily disrupted.
*bow* si si, claro well chadul-beg-ee is sort of a brisket and if you like sweet rather than savory, I _really_ recommend the galbi, usually or traditionally a short-rib but we have chicken (pollo) galbi and of course san-gyup saal is just an uncured (sin sal) bacon or pork belly, pahn-cchan is just a word for appetizer, of course of course...so-mack is just soju (rice wine) mixed with mack-joo or beer and of course soju, by itself is sort of a weak vodka, rice wine, uh huh uh *bows* ddang I miss Terry, KristeN
Oh my goodness this brings me back, learned shotokan in middle school and I swore ever since I started I was gonna teach it to my child (my dojo shut down because there wasn’t enough money coming in) no where around me teaches it but years later I’m pregnant with my first kid and this feels like yesterday
