Why would modern shadow warriors wear costumes like this? The historical ninja wore clothes that fit with their culture; they didn't go around dressed like cosplayers. Is ninjutsu cosplaying or a practical art?
I just ordered one thanks to you. I'm 5"11 300lb. I'm a size 42/30 in pants and a 4X in shirt size. Should the size 5 be good? I still plan to lose weight.
Wow! I am loving this new uniform! Things have been pretty hectic in my life, but I am still going to come back to continue my training and I plan on getting this uniform (my old gi still has the old badges on it that you used to mess with me about). Great job with the review, Hardee!
This is a very awesome video! I can't believe that I have not seen it before! I love this Shinobi Shozoku! Please tell me, does it have the hidden shuriken pocket in the jacket, or would I have to stitch it in myself?
This is the one major point that irks me about Shinobi. There was no Shozoku worn by Ninja during their missions. They wore their everyday clothing to blend in (Gray Man) their appearance. No one, except for their clan knew who Ninja were. The black shozoku are a western culture mythical costume taken from the Kabuki theater. AND Ninja did not wear black. Black is too dark for night missions. They wore brown, gray or dark blue. Black stands out even in the dark of night. If a Ninja was spotted en route to his mission he could simply, and often times pass as a common traveler. If they wore an all black shozoku they would have easily been singled out as Ninja (as, supposedly only Ninja wore the black shozoku.) wearing, as they did, ‘gray man’ everyday attire would not cause them to stand out nor raise suspicion. Also, if spotted during their mission, Ninja in every day clothing could easily slip into any crowd and escape, but not donned in an all black shozoku. As the foremost western authority, I really wish An-Shu would teach the true essence of Shinobi as far as their real clothing, and get away from the kabuki costume Ninja shozoku. If wanting to wear a shozoku, A good way to delineate skill level would be: Gray shozoku = novice Brown shozoku = intermediate Dk. Blue shozoku = advanced At least those colors would be a truer representation of real, every day Shinobi history.
K.T Ingram, it's obvious that you hate Ninjutsu. And you seem to have the real Ninja mixed up with the kiddies' Ninja Turtles. Real Ninjutsu is not a kiddies' toy nor game. Although children can learn Ninja self defense techniques too. But real Ninjutsu is a very lethal self defense form. It is an art of life and death. It consists of bone breaking, skin and muscle ripping and also organ attacking techniques; such as ripping off the lower lip of the mouth and gouging out the eyes, etc. It also consists of mastering lethal weapons such as the Ninja sword, razor sharp throwing stars and caltrops, sickles, spears, explosives and fighting chains etc. None of these things are things that a little child should play with because they are very lethal. It is therefore very obvious then that a true Ninja is a highly deadly individual, not a little child. Ninjutsu training is not playing. It is far more lethal than mere karate. And lastly, you claim that a Ninja looks "ridiculous". By that l assume that you mean the masked outfit. Well, of course it would look ridiculous to walk in the street, dressed like that in broad daylight! Even in ancient Japan the Ninja never wore the masked outfits in daylight because it was not normal to do so. If anyone saw it, it would seem ridiculous! But let me teach you a little secret! The masked black outfit is not meant to be seen! It is meant to NOT BE SEEN. In other words, the Ninja wore it, traditionally only at night. And individuals who practice Ninjutsu today wear it at night and practice so that they may silently blend in with the dark of the night. They would be practicing skills of being invisible, such as hiding in a tree, at night or swimming silently at night, breathing under water, using a breathing tube. The black outfit is used for hiding and moving stealthily in the shadows. I have practiced stealth at night, wearing black and even though practicing in public places, hidden in trees and moving in the shadows, l have never been seen. A true Ninja would never walk around with a masked black outfit during the day time because he knows it is ridiculous. But is is absolutely awesome when using it at night and it is definitely very useful when you practice stealth and are practicing very lethal Ninja assassination techniques using razor sharp Ninja weapons. It is an absolute must if you practice Ninja weapons combat and stealth at night. And, for your information, we do not practice lethal Ninja techniques to go around and kill people but to protect our selves and also our loved ones and to be able to save someone's life whenever we are needed to do so. It is to do good and not evil. Hope this helps!
I'm glad my jujutsu teacher let me wear a black Gi. as white sucks, makes you look like you are going to a Japanese funeral. I used a heavy weight Gi to withstand the throws. I've seen arms ripped off of thinner Gis. To me, this is useless if you need to wear an extra pair of pants under it. Stephen seems to try to modernize the Ninja then he goes and does this step back into time. Real ninjas today would not wear such garb, goes completely against blending in.
This is so cool. I'm definitely considering buying one of these myself as I have been wanting a traditional shinobi shozoku for a while. I do have a question about the sizing. I'm 5'10" and weigh about 145 lbs. What size would you recommend?
@@WeBreakItAllDownRightHere I already got my own. A friend of mine was nice enough to help me with figuring out what size to get, unlike you. Next time, don't be such a dick. Everyone is made different and might not be consistent with sizing as it can fluctuate. Be courteous.
