....YOU ARE A GREAT EXAMPLE OF SOMEONE WHO REALLY KNOWS HOW TO "APPRECIATE LIFE" WITH CHILD-LIKE "GUSTO"....HAVE FUN WITH THAT TRACTOR AND ENJOY THAT HEATED-CAB THIS WINTER....
Hi Pete! Nicely done! I’m in the process of building a dolly for my Kubota BH77 backhoe. I’ll be posting that video soon. One thing I learned early on when removing the backhoe is to keep the engine RPMs low. With the backhoe moving slower, it makes it easier to find the sweet spot that takes the weight of the pins so I can remove them. Thanks for sharing!
@@KubotaMonsterBX23S Amen! I do the exact same thing. Wish I could've gotten away with tennis shoes on the flight line for 20 years.....but I'd probably have fewer toes if I did!
Pete, good job for the first time removing the backhoe. Over time the outriggers can leak down, I run a 1" ratchet strap that connects the two outriggers together when not in use. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the video Pete. I have a new (well, I put 13 hours on it just using the loader) BX23S and will, at some point be removing the backhoe, which I wasn't looking forward to, but now I'm not so intimidated by the idea. I'm going to have to fabricate and weld up a cart to hold my backhoe, like the one you purchased from BXpanded; well, almost like it. I don't have a nice smooth surface to roll anything around on.......like cement or asphalt. I have an ancient, cracked to pieces old cement barn floor to move things around on. With that in mind I'll be putting larger air filled tires on my dolly as well as a hitch on the dolly so I can move it around with my JD 318 since my Kubota doesn't have a hitch or drawbar on it.
I had the original BXpanded one for my BX25 and I just got one this week for my BX23S (actually rigged out very similar to yours - Curtis cab, front and rear LED's, heater, seal kit, etc). These things are great and SUCH a better move than just putting it down and trying to get stuff to line up (which is a NIGHTMARE and always takes 30 mins longer than planned). You'll be so thankful for this in the long run (that is until you wish you got a bigger tractor which also inevitably happens). Just buy a big used one - it satisfies that itch.
Nice, Pete - that went a lot smoother than the first time I removed mine (no dolly). I'm sure you already know, but it bears stressing - never forget to plug that return hose back in. In my non-engineer, humble opinion, there should be a way for Kubota to eliminate the possibility of permanent damage - like an emergency bypass with a pressure relief. Until then, I remove the key from the ignition when I disconnect the hoe.
I have a custom made stand for mine.... it’s a 6X6X12 wooden block left over from my machine shed build.... works well but doesn’t roll around worth a crap!!! Do you think it would help if I poured concrete over the gravel floor? Was wondering how the dolly worked. Thanks for showing.
