Amazing views…and those boats😍. Thanks for showing us lovely places. Your trip on the boat was lovely and the colour of the sea👌.Looks like you are all having a great time.
Thanks guys, and the colour of the sea was just as the video picked it up…no filters needed! And we were left with boat envy too…🥴….thanks for watching and it’s cool you are watching from Wales…looking forward to your Anglesey video, how’s the editing going? 😵💫🥴😎👍🏻
@@CaliCamperFamily the editing is taking some time as you can imagine 🤣 but hopefully Anglesey vlog out in the next 2 weeks or so! We got sidetracked a little this week as reaching 1000 youtube subscribers caught us by surprise.. so this weeks vlog was a thank you one, just released yesterday. Sneeked a few anglesey clips in at the end to show an idea of things to come! Also a few Nugget adjustments! Looking forward to your next vlog.
Basically, when you've got to go you've got to go!! I miss my 2 being small. Make the most of the time. Stunning bit of coast Thanks for the film your girls will love watching when they're grown up
You know, I’d never really thought about them watching when they are grown up before. A great point and it will be so nice for them to be able to do that! They love watching it now, in particular Holly, I frequently find her just watching an episode. Time does run away, and we love them being this age. Thanks for commenting, Jordan 😀
Thanks Dawn, and yes…Portofino is a place to go, again and again….it’s beautiful and great for soaking up the glamorous lifestyle! Thanks for commenting 👍🏻😎
Great first trip. Looks like the Nugget is already firmly planted in the family’s affections. Lovely to see you all having such a good time - and dear little Poppy - that was so reminiscent of when ours were young. They always choose the most in opportune moments don’t they? We only had one trip to Italy so far (and it was a magical drive over the alps from Switzerland) - it’s so lovely - and you are so fortunate to be based there. Can’t wait to return when we can. Have fun
Hi guys! Haha, yes, always the most in opportune moments…! Bless her 😍. Hopefully you can get to Italy again soon; it’s fabulous for touring in your Cali and we also find the Swiss/Italian Alps magical, we love it! Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻😃
Excellent video, loved the involvements with Paul Zerdin also the boat trip was amazing. What nice memories you are making for the girls. The Nugget certainly looks the business.
Glad you enjoyed the Paul Zerdin bits, it made us all laugh….yes, the girls are loving the camper and lots of great memories and experiences for them. The Nugget is a fabulous van, we are very happy with it 👍🏻😎
I don’t think a nugget in Scotland would be the same fun. Loving your videos on the van and your trips with children, feels like I’ve been around Italy lately.
Haha, thanks John…glad you’re enjoying our videos and the sights of Italy. Yes, the Nugget is easier to enjoy in better weather, especially with kids. Although, I would love to do a Highlands and Islands tour…with a few distilleries visited along the way…not sure the kids would be as keen as me though!
@@CaliCamperFamily there is the 500 north west which is a tour around top of Scotland. No one’s doing reviews on high top plus which is what I think, but how practical is the big bubble fuel economy.
Thanks for sharing your holiday with us. That is such a lovely part of Italy and the boat trip looked amazing. Glad the Nugget is living up to your expectations, you all looked very relaxed. Good call on the spaghetti bolognese eating arrangements 😁🍝🍝🍝😅
Haha, yes, the spag-bol eating arrangements are now ‘standard operating procedures’ 😂😆🥴. Love it that you guys enjoy watching our travels…and yes, it is a beautiful part of Italy, we are planning a return trip later this month for the Genoa Boat Show…another excuse to sleep in the Nugget, of course! Are you planning any more long trips for this year? All the very best, J & the gang
@@CaliCamperFamily we won’t be venturing abroad this year, just around the UK. Next trip is in 9 days time so busy editing more of the Isle of Man trip before we go ☺️ Hopefully we will get to visit Italy in the little red camper one day 😀 Best wishes to you all x
Sometimes, 9 days isn’t long enough to edit all the footage! Enjoying editing and having the patience and time are essential…I struggle with the time bit! Glad to hear you are off exploring again. If you come to Italy one day, we should get our campers together 😃👍🏻. Our next trip is in about 10 days too…we thought we’d visit the Genoa Boat show…an excuse for a weekend away Nuggeting! Best wishes, J.
Having visited places like Sorrento, Amalfi and Capri, you can always tell how nice a place is by the number of Super yachts parked up. Portofino looks beautiful and definitely somewhere to want to visit, if we ever get back to normal. It looked like you have had a great time.
Yes, it’s a good indication and adds to the glamour…! Portofino is lovely, great for people-watching, admiring the boats and soaking up the atmosphere. Thanks for commenting 😎👍🏻
You weren’t wrong there…San Fruttuoso is simply stunning! The church was lovely also. ❤️ I can definitely see the advantages of the Nugget Plus (High roof) for you guys…especially for the girls and in particular, Holly. Hope all works out whenever the opportunity presents itself…🙏 Looking forward to your next vlog. God Bless x
Yes, exactly…the Nugget Plus is the way forward for us and we are really looking forward to it. And yes, San Fruttuoso is a very special place. Thanks for the comments, all the best 👍🏻😎
Hi, our 2+2 family travels in similar fashion in a Renault Trafic campervan by Adria. It has layout similar to your previous California. We use the bench in the rear for packing and have many large items like tandem SUP, awning tent, etc. and at night shift things to the front seats (incl. booster seats). As we often sleep en route, we can't keep things outside at night. In Ford Nugget - do you have significantly less storage than in California? How would you pack large bag items. TIA
Thanks for watching! Yes it is an issue. There isn’t a ‘boot’ in the nugget, but there is a large area that you can use as a boot in the kitchen. We put our awning there. Other items we keep in a large waterproof bicycle bag which is massive. We put that in the kitchen at the back while driving and then lock it on the bike rack when we camp. 👍🏻
Congratulations on the arrival! Enjoying seeing your adventures again, thanks for sharing. I must say, we weren’t sold on the Nugget at first but seeing it in action actually it’s growing on us already! I have a few questions 😊 - what’s the difference between this AMA the Plus? Is this a SWB and the plus is LWB? I assume it is but I can’t get my head around the space with the kitchen and living area if it’s SWB (comparing to Cali.. which we have). - Are all the girls in car seats still? Is there any isofix in it? Do you think they will comfortably fit when they are teens say? Again I can’t get my head around how roomy the bench looks given it doesn’t take up the width of the vehicle - what chairs were the girls assembling? They look like they pack down very small. Do you have camping chairs for the kids too? Thanks again for the videos, loving seeing you back out!
Hi Laura, thanks for watching and the good questions 👍🏻. The Plus is the LWB with a fixed toilet in the rear and an extra wash basin; 40cm longer than our standard Nugget. Have a look at our Instagram page (#calicamperfamily) as I can’t post you a photo on here for the seats….the Transit is quite a bit wider internally than the Cali, and it is very noticeable. You can easily get 3 teenagers in a row. 3 baby car seats go in. There are isofix on the two outer seats of the is one of the main reasons we bought it actually. The chairs are great and we bought them from Decathlon, also online. We are changing to the Nugget Plus, so those three collapsible chairs will be the kids chairs(although they are for adults) and the Plus has two Westfalia chairs included, stored in the extra 40cm opposite the toilet area. Actually, if you wanted you could leave your Cali seats at home and put many of these chairs in the tailgate pocket. They are about €30 each. Hope this helps, thanks for tuning into our channel! Jordan. 👍🏻😎
Fab! Thanks so much for the info.. really interesting. Hadn’t seen your Instagram but have found the picture - amazing the three seats fit so well. We are a family of 4 in our Cali, aspiring family of 5… your videos were instrumental in us getting the Cali (which we love and is absolutely perfect at the moment) so we will watch with interest how you get on 😊 looking forward to seeing more adventures!
Really like the Nugget - great layout (and I love Fords !) - BUT.....The Ford is taller so would struggle to get under a lot of car park barriers (in the UK) when out on day trips. I think the VW Cali is under 2m which would fit under most car park barriers...anyone had any experience of this ?
The Ford is 2.05m although could be taller with the alloy wheels. In Europe there generally aren’t so many height barriers, but we did stuggle with this in the UK a couple of times.
This is an issue with a pop top. Usually, there is a notable difference in temperature between top and bottom. It is possible to run a temporary heating pipe from the lower duct to the upstairs. Thanks for watching.
