thank you very much for sharing this insight, your interest and technical ability shines through and is very useful to those such as ourselves considering a similar setup. Look forward to the next installment !
Thank's for your kind comments Richard - and I'm glad you found this video useful! The channel was set up for that very reason, to assist those researching solar installations before taking the plunge themselves!
Hi Keith...will you be providing any further reviews. Always interesting especially as i am in the same area. Seeing the first quarter of 2024 well down on last year. Are you seeing the same ? Ed
So you generated 5,400 kWh in a year, which is a saving of £1,458 (@27p/kWh). What was your total capital investment - I must have missed it in the video? I'm guessing it was £13,500
Hi, thank you so much for all this. My system performance is incredibly close to yours, and was installed on the 21/12/2022. My system is 15 Trina panels (5,775kw array) Orientation 3.5kw facing 145 degrees from North and 2.3 kw facing 245 degrees from North. With just a 5kwh battery and a 6kw Solis Inverter, costing £10k. Payback about 8 years. Expected Results 11 months projected to 12. Generated 5.1kwh 5% below installer's quote. Self use ( usage from panels whether direct or via battery) 1,600kwh, exported 3,500kwh, consumed 4,100kwh Imported 2,500kwh. Savings about £1,200 p.a. As expected as I export nearly 3 times as much as you my savings will be less than you, who consumes alot more. FYI, trying to understand your spread sheet it does not quite add up May 23, your Solar Usage and Battery Usage does not equal Total Generated Usage. Only spotted as was trying to understand your spread sheet. Only mentioning incase you realise later and have to find out the discrepancy, only 12kwh out.
Thanks for your comment Laurence. Glad to see that your data correlates well! And with regards to the May 23 figures, good spot - I had an errant formula in total generated usage column in my master document for just 1 day, I've corrected it and now adds up correctly in the summary document! Thanks again, and hope you find the future videos as useful!
