Hello My Brothers and Sister's, I'm A 30 year Veteran and have been Retired for the last 11 years, 33 has a Nice Station. I worked on both the Engine company as well as the truck company. We were fighting a house fire and me and my partner were up on the roof cutting a hole for ventilation and just as I put the point of the axe in the cut flames shot up in front of me and lost my balance and fell 2 1/2 stories and landed on my air pack, I fell through the second and first floor when my alarm went off so I could be found. I injured my lower back and neck. Stay safe my Brothers and Sister

In the beginning I was a bit worried that you switched up one of my favourite formats of the channel, but having watched the video in full I think it was a cool addition to show a bit of the day-to-day stuff _additionally_ to the tour of the station. I'm not that big of a fan of all this "firefighter hero/action movie" stuff, so I could've done with an intro that was about 5 notches quieter - but that's just my personal taste. Still a great video and really interesting to watch for all the differences and yet the many similarities between US firefighting and how we do it over here in germany :)

Good video. Nicely produced. Only one question/comment. Noticed Rosie was putting on her mast with bunker gloves on. Would she properly be able to tighten all the straps? Preset straps may help but don’t seal all the way typically . 🤔

@eriksand9262 Год назад
I’m guessing when you guys do that in house training, especially when taking all that hose off the engine, you guys go out of service?
@PTRRanger951
@PTRRanger951 Год назад
Probably not. Almost no departments go out of service for training. They would advise dispatch they would be on a training delay for x amount of minutes. It should only take about 2-4 minutes to get the hose back on the truck and respond. So they may tell dispatch that they are on a 5 minute delay for training so depending on the call, the delay may not matter, but if it does, then they will send another engine. But chances are that engine will take 5 minutes longer to respond into that area.
@SouthMetroFireRescuePIO
@SouthMetroFireRescuePIO Год назад
At South Metro, units have the option to stay in service, go on a 1, 3 or 5 minute training delay or go completely out of service. Usually the Lieutenant or Captain will decided what level is appropriate.

@Cyedae
@Cyedae Год назад
It depends on the overall staffing on each shift.
@jakobmadsen31
@jakobmadsen31 Год назад
@@Cyedae Previously on Station Saturday, the crew has mentioned the if the engine is staffed with only 3 because of low call volume. The didnt here, so im curious if its because of one crew missing(illness, vacation ect) or if its only is staffed with 3 witch seems odd of South Metro Fire Rescue Centennial for station as busy as this
@Cyedae
@Cyedae Год назад
@@jakobmadsen31 Like I said, it'll depend on the overall staffing on each shift (A, B, & C). There may also be staffing shortages within the department which is why they only have 3 members on RE33.
@SouthMetroFireRescuePIO
@SouthMetroFireRescuePIO Год назад
South Metro continues to work toward 4 person staffing on all Engine Companies. Engine 33 will likely get their 4th after the next academy class or two graduates. Operations Division ultimately decides which Engines have a 4 person minimum based on a number of factors like being paired with a Medic Unit, their location and call volume.

E15 has moved to Station 37 north of 15s and will respond from there as E37, M15 as moved to Station 14 to the northeast and responds as M14, there is minimal increase in response time in fact some of 15s first due will have a quicker response time.
