I love HCCA line! I have the 8K and the dual 2Ohm 12". It seems like it can take unlimited power. Amp gets no warmer than ambient temps and the sub just pounds away effortlessly. No smell, no rub, nothing but heavy bass! I love it! Wish I had room for the HCCA SPL version.
thanks man! and honestly i just brutalize these subs. i really let my voltage slide and just for like 30minutes at a time and they still dont even get really warm. im more than impressed at the handling of these subs. i believe you could give a single hcca 3000rms daily as long as the power is clean and itd give u all the bass u want without fault. on the same note i believe sundowns products can hold up just as these do without a problem.
I love these subs... Although they do require lots of power & their sensitivities differ between the dvc 4ohm and 2ohm I still love them... Keep bassing those bad boys
@@chrispeters1020 Dam it’s been a while since I bassed . It all depends on your amp. Ohms = resistance. So the higher the ohms, the more power you need to push them. & the less ohms, the less power you’ll need. HOWEVER, some amplifiers don’t support 1ohm & can cause it to overheat & go into protection mode. These subs come in either dual 4ohm or dual 2ohm, If you get the dual 4ohm, then you can connect it in parallel & bring it down to two ohms. So you’ll have to find an amplifier that can put out 2000 + watts rms at 2ohms. For the Dual 2ohm, you can connect those in parallel & get a 1ohm load (least resistance) & find an amp that can push 2000+ watts rms at 1ohm. Hope this helps.
@@shallowtito2902 Hey man I don’t really know anything about subs. But my brother gave me his two Orion hcaa 12s and I don’t know what kind of amp I need. My friend and I hooked them up to a 2500 watt amp but the amp went into protection mode. However when only one sub is hooked up to the amp it sounds pretty good
@@clayton2500 It sounds like an ohm issue. What’s happening is that your subwoofers are connected together in what’s called (parallel), which brings the ohm load down to let’s say 1ohm for example. However your amp can only support a 2ohm minimum, so anything less will put you amp in danger. So it goes into protection mode to avoid damage. Then when you connect only 1 subwoofer, the ohm load is reduced to 2ohms, thus meeting the Amps specifications and being able to bass. The info below will teach you how to rewire the subs in what’s called (series). Unlike parallel which reduces your ohms in half, a series connection will double your ohms. 1) What you can try first is make sure the gain on your amp isn’t cranked all the way up. (Simplest & less likely) When watching these videos, pay attention to key terms : 1)SVC & DVC subwoofers 2) Your amplifier (ohms per channel & power) The number of watts you gave me is most likely max power, which is useless. RMS watts is what you look for. 3) wiring subwoofers; parallel & series. In your case you might have to connect them in series. 4) Max watts vs RMS Watts 5)make sure you know exactly what subwoofer you have. For example; the 12” Orion HCCA subwoofers comes in two different ohm ratings HCCA 122 & HCCA 124. The 12(2) stands for 2ohms & the 12(4) stands for 4 ohms. They should both be DVC (Dual Voice Coil) These links can probably help you out a bit: m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cyq-ivMDXgU.html m.ru-vid.com/group/PLgSNj_wNA0j0rk71E3l9Xqy0Nmf6pN3cq images.app.goo.gl/dQ7gXpt9R6LY7yy58 Good luck & be sure to watch the videos, understand it, & then comeback and reread what I wrote. Never had it metered. HCCAs believe it or not sounded pretty damn good, I enjoyed them for how loud but how clean they were. Box I believe was tuned to 31.5hz
hey man killlerrrr flex on this one. any chance you can shed some light on this subject for me? I've ordered the orange coil hcca 15 inch 2 ohm so its the 4k max versiom , are yours the black coil 800 dollar plus Subs or the orange 400-500 coil Subs? how many batteries and what alternator? thanks in advance , pleasure seeing this beast in action
Just a tip on any subwoofers, they like to have something to bounce off of face them puppies facing the trunk lid and leave about 8 to 10 inches away from the trunk lid and those suckers will hit twice as hard. Just try it an see for yourself
Damn those suckers are putting in sum crazy work...... awesome video player... i have a pair but never strap power to them need battery, alternator. .. what u think best way face port in a Nissan Titan under the back seat? ??????
They will fit for sure I had 4 12s before slamming but only lasted 8 months befor I blew subs ... what you think about face ports 2 doors one on each side???
Anthony Martinez nah dude try to keep one big port if possible and i think for the loudest for passenger side in your cab you want the port on the driver side. I like trying different/mult ports but i do believe, and ifyou look at other people's setups, that one big port is the way to go. and if you have had 4 12s id say just face them up, power them up, and fire the port up one the left or right side of the box. my boy has 2 12" rockfords on 1200rms faced up in a shitty quick box i built and his is retardedly loud for 1200rms and 12s. but if you're rocking 2 12 hccas, do about 3-4cubes, 50-60 square inch port and you'll be golden. my box is about 3.5cubes which was a little big, and the port is also a little big but i got really lucky and a lot of range out of my setup.
also; if you can do an aero port, about 8inch circumference. i promise you won't be disappointed. (also meant to add by buddy's setup is in a silverado, so a pretty big cabin, think yours is a little smaller so you should be loud as hell.
Bad ass dude. I got 3 skar vvx 8v3s on soundstream 2500 watt mono at 1.4 ohms. Ported enclosure tuned too 35 hertz 3 cubes. Got resilient sounds 6.5 mids in the front doors on a Rockville 800 watt amp.
that looks like the crescendo 5500 I need to pick one up because I just bought a Orion hcca 12 what alt you using I just ordered the macman 240 for my civic ex 4 door
It sounded awesome on my phone bro i have a MOTO Z and there's different types of back's to the phone i have a 70" projector I can hook up to it and a super loud JBL speaker And it makes everything sound perfect yeah great video bro 👍🏼✌🏼🔈🔉🔊
Soon Willbe Hey dude, say if I was to get one of these Orion 12's what amp would you recommend? Also, if I was to put one 12" Orion in my car and left everything else stock in my car would I need to upgrade my alternator or not? :O Please reply :)
ExpectBass depends man. if you got money id recommend a crescendo 3.5. but if you're not trying to upgrade you'd be safe with a 2.5k hifonics which is the economic choice. but i dont really recommend this sub if you wont have the real power for it, you wont be able to move her enough to be worth it. id suggest a 1-1500rms woofer.. put it this way i put about 5k to both of mine and they still want more but im passed the limit voltage wise.
Soon Willbe Ahh ok fair enough, cheers for the honest reply! As it'll only be the first time I get a system in my car I might just do a budget install (not to less of a budget though) and then as time goes on and I want more sound i'll be willing to pay the extra ££ for more power etc :) And damn... 5k to each lmao, that's a lot of fucking power mate! .. It must sound real good in real life? I can't even imagine what it must sound like in person damn.
Soon Willbe and by the way do you run ONE crescendo 5500 for EACH of your orion subs, or do you run ONE crescendo 5500 for both of your subs? Because I wouldn't mind paying for the orion 12" + 1 crescendo 5500 amp tbh , but if I did this do you think I'd need more than just a stock battery / alternator?
ExpectBass ok so no, i run one single crescendo 5500d to both amps at 1 ohm which stat wise of the amp is 5800@1ohm at 13.8v. my voltage drops to a high 12v on tilt which lets me know that im really seeing some high 4k ish amount of true rms after that it becomes a distorted 5kish nevertheless is louder and all of my system handles it fine. if you have never had a system i do not recommend orion unless you're finding some good deal on a setup. idk if you've seen an orion up close but they are humongous and will consume a huge amount of car space for even just 1 12". also as said before, without the right electric and power you won't optimize for your dollar. idk what kind of vehicle you have but PER 1k rms BATTERY wise you need roughly 100aH which is amp hours from a battery. i see about 370aH on my setup with a 220amp H/O alternator. as far as my mono subwoofer setup goes this electric handles well but i also have 2x 1200rms 4-channel amps operating 14 mids/highs in my car which believe it or not takes me down about roughly .3-.5 voltage (very heavy especially on non efficient hifonics amps) if you'd like to get a more calculated and ideal setup for you vehicle let me know and i can help guide you to it. in this audio world EVERY little thing matters to you having a louder, cleaner and efficient setup and if i can help you understand a little more you will be much more prepared to get yourself the right starting gear.
Soon Willbe Wow thanks for the explanation dude, I appreciate it loads! And yeah, this would be my first ever install (because I've not even got a car yet) but for when I do I would like to get a nice sounding system. I'd preferably want to just start by getting a sub only, the reason for this is because the car I would like to purchase already has nice sounding audio (the tweeters/mid bass sound good to me already) - What information would you need from me in order to help guide me to a nice sounding system? (And as it's a first system/sub I'd be putting into my car, I'd want to try and avoid buying any additional batteries or alternators for the car, as because it would be my first car I'd probably not keep it for that long) Thanks for all your help! Really do appreciate bro.
Watsup Soon Willbe a wats a gd 1ohm/.5ohm amp to run on Orion HCCA? I knw yu chose the hifonics 2k at first and now da BC 5500 wat else yu would recommend that's a true beast bruh? Spkr is dual 2ohm HCCA? Get back wit me wit yur opinion! Other than that nice video bruh keep em' coming back!
well since your a 2 ohm sub i'd recommend anything 1500+. mine are 4 ohm so i run 2 of them down at 1 ohm, in the vid they see about 2000-2500 a piece off that bcendo. depends on ur money though man, if you want to see the speaker work hard id recommend a belva bb5000 for the price she'll give you a strong 2300rms depending on your electric/voltage. but hifonics has always done fine. it's mostly the box and its setup man. like i said if you got 4-500$ get a nice 2-3k rms amp. if not, spend like 180$ get a 2k hifonics. then put it in the right box, which i can also help you with. and thanks for watching my video, always here to help (:
oh... yah the crescendo is a BEAST amp. prices went up on em but if you reallllly want all you can get out of that 2 ohm orion you got, get the crescendo 3k. think it does like 3800 @ 1 ohm and it will DEF push your sub to that max
I am going from 2 American Bass Xfl 12s to 2 Sundown v5d1 12s. I was gonna get these Orions until I heard both sets in person. It was no competition. The sundowns destroyed. and the Sundown V5s can easily push 4k per 12
They were actually in the foot areas in the back seat. There were 3 or 4 total batteries in this car.. Can't remember them all - XS Power D3100 (x2), XS Power D5400. Maybe one other, as well.
Honestly dude I think they make pretty good SQ. My overall setup is SQ with over 20 highs and mids and 2 1200rms 4channel amps. If you give them the right box with the power to match it they will produce just about anything for a fat SPL woofer. For what they are as SPL they do make a nice sound, overall I was surprised cuz i thought orion would let me down but they did the opposite.
Soon Willbe Nice dude. Yeah I imagine you can make almost any woofer (outside of burp woofers) sound good with the right box and right power. I was jus curiuos. I'm re-building my 2-12 trunk system now. Going from 2k to 4.5k plus alllllll the extras. (Going with PSI subs this time).Lots of money and lots of time lol. Your system is good shit bruh! Keep it up. Liked
Soon Willbe oh for sure brotha. I'm gonna do a before and after vid. The rebuild is getting started as soon as my new subs are finished being built (hopefully next week) With all things considered we should be done in April I'm hoping. You got a vid of how you did your amps? Your car is about the same size as mine. I might have to bite an idea or two off of you lol
How Many Cubes Was Ur Box And What Was It Tuned To I Had 2 Of These In A 3.5 Cubic Foot Box Sadly And It Was Shit Heard 2 L7 12 Sound The Fn Same Plz Help Me 😢😢😂😂
You probably have to throw those 12s in a 5 cubic box tuned at 36 Hertz and use a 5000 watt RMS amp, otherwise yeah they're probably going to sound like other stuff
think its like 5.5 x 12 x 32 or some shit, i dont remember. its tuned down around 32 regardless. those dimensions only apply to the full box build application. so depending on how much cubic feet your box is will determine what you make your port.
whats ur set up bro im getting these subs today same size i got an amp ATG 6500 max 3200 rms at 1ohm i got a back up battery 2,400 watt with a 200 amp alterantor on my 2010 civic u think it would be alright pushing them? just wanna make sure ..?
@@critixizer so you think im good for now ? on my 3200 rms amp nd which side do the subs hit harder facing the seat or the trunk ? 1ohm is when u do positive to positive and negative with negative cause i do it right the connections nd my multimeter marks me like 1.3 1.4 ? but my multimeter is a cheap one from walmart u think thats why?
@@vidrioadam idk what your multimeter has to do with your wiring connections. if you have a good sound deadened trunk they can sound great in the trunk, otherwise you have to absolutely seal off to get louder into the cabin
I appr yur help bro I got a box built already my guy built my box its tuned to 35hz its ported as well. My electrical is gr8 that's nob problem I jus wntd a nice amp I had a D5000 on it but sold it so im tryna get that type of power bac. Those D5000 are kinda hard to come by again so I've been looking but instead imma go wit anutha brand. Bout how much does the Crescendo 3k cost if yu knw off hand? Ill probably check them out!
Im sure you've already checked it out but the Crescendo bc3500d is $780. I've seen a bench test with one of em and it put up a 4,178 @ .7ohms on 14.6 volts. Insane! Lol.
Ummmm honestly it's been a while since I seen that vid. I'm on several car audio forums and whatnot so I can't recall where I seen it exactly. I think it might have been an 'amp test Tuesday' vid by SMD but don't quote me on that. But those Nendo amps (I have 2 bc2000ds) are LEGIT!
Subs are fairly priced about $330 a peice. You can strap 2 skar rp2000.1 at 220 a peice. Wiring isn't that bad. Battery's and alternator is where it gets really expensive
Soon Willbe Ill be getting a 15 inch Orion Hcca soon but my seats down go down :( but i might get two im not sure yet if two will fit I have an old school 1993 Plymouth Acclaim
Yovani Cruz well if you power them up your trunk will literally get destroyed so thats probly not a good idea lol. id recommend a different approach. plus youll lose tons of sound and i dont see it being worth the trouble. ive had cars with the same issue and some times it works ok but other times you really lose out.
Holy shit 5.5 in that trunk?! Lol props to u man I have a little under 5cu in my 05 tsx and it’s tight as fuck...do u have any other videos showing the box and trunk setup?
