I've been trying to learn the 3 beat weave for so long, and now that i have it somewhat down this video tells me I've been doing 5-7 beats this whole time

Oh Nick- I'm SOOooo good at the dead beat weave....!!! And it's good to hear you say the seven beat tests even you; I couldn't get past the five but now I don't feel so crap!! I have a set of beautiful triangular flag poi which suit my old slow bones perfectly and keep me supple. Love your tutorials ☮️🌈

Do you know if it is possible to be doing a 3 beat weave and instead of crossing from your right and left side you instead transition into another movement in which it will allow you to transition back into that 3 beat weave on your same side. So like a rebeat weave where as you’ll being doing a 3 beat weave and then transition in and out between another trick to continue keeping that 3 beat happening in the same side instead of crossing over each side

i might give the 7 beat a try but honestly the only practical weaves are the 2, 3 and 5.

What poi are you using here? They looks so light to spin with

6:30 I've tried doing this, but I can't get it to work. I wrap them on the right side but when I switch to the left side my left poi loses momentum and gets hit by the right poi making them tangle. I'm using strings though instead of sock poi, could that be causing the problem, or is there some part of the technique I'm just not getting yet and I just need to practice more?
