I’ve a couple of 2.5 gals. I had 4 pea puffer FRY in one. I got slammed on YT for it. Always love the Monday morning quarter backs lol. I’ve since kept bettas in them but really like the bettas in community tanks. Solid information Susan.
Sorry for the question but I’m a beginner to wanting goldfish. How often a week should I change or add water to a 3.5 gal tank if I had two? I hope no one gets upset about how little knowledge I know about fish. I’m willing to take care of the tank as frequently as necessary it’s just where I live doesn’t allow fish so I can’t have a 10 gal tank. Also is the little pebble food than sinks better for the fish than the flakes at float cause I’ve heard it can help them not ingest air?
@@QueAquatics I have the stuff that makes the tap water good. Are there any other brands/things in general I’d need. Like anything else that needs to be in the water other than the conditioner?
@@QueAquatics also if the tank has a filter still change it once a week right? And where the water come out of the filter would that we enough movement to oxygenate the water or do I need a bubbler and if so what is a good brand?
Your filter is enough movement for the tank. Yes, even if you have a filter you will still need to change the water every week because of the size of the tank. Enjoy those fish
@@miniaques okay thanks I just really didn’t know if it would be enough movement. I kinda figured about the water change thing but just wanted to clarify. What’s the best way to change the water? Also to figure out if the temp is right should I move the temp gauge from the tank to the water I’m gonna change it out with to make sure it’s the same temp or around the same temp? And to acclimate the fish should I put them in a temporary container with tank water and add some new water to it gradually for like 30min adding some every 10min? Cause I’ve tried the floating the bag method but it doesn’t seem to work as well.
Hey you did a thing on a 2.5 gallon awesome. I don't mind using smaller tanks the only thing is I'm addicted to aquascaping. Really enjoy aquascaping actually:)
Usually when I awkward scape a 2.5 gallon I'll typically put the a newbius in the corner and I like to use a little bit of hardscaping or I might get a piece of nice Driftwood and kind of put the plant in the corner so that way the fish has more room to swim I won't fill up with plants in the background because taiwan's water can't handle plants like that but if I can find but what I do do sometimes is I put a little island of Anubis like up on the water like a floater and then there's some natural looking gravel. What I really like to do is maybe put some crushed up almond leaves but those are hard to find they don't have them in Taiwan instead if I can I'll put a small piece of Driftwood maybe in the corner of where the filter is and then if I can find some little anubias plants that I had grown personally I'll put them into the Driftwood it looks pretty cool but it's not bad like if you have a baby betta or a small female it's a really nice tank to have It's great if you broke your arm like I did it's easier to maintain but I think if my female you know is doing well then probably I'd like to upgrade her tank to a five or six gallon just because I like aquascaping I'm really quite into it. like using hardscape and Driftwood and trying to see if I could arrange the plants in the back of the tank and then have as much room as possible for the fish to swim but small tanks no problem they can work I started off with all 2.5 and 3 gallon tanks. There was one time where I had a very small Betta and so I put him into a half gallon tank and after that I upgraded him to a 2.5 and sadly he passed away within a week I believe take a shock is real and I think it's good to have different size tanks. I actually have two tanks under my bed that currently aren't being used they're one gallon and I have another 2.5 gallon that sadly has a crack in the bottom so there's a slow leak I want to see if I can try to repair it because it's a nice tank it would be sad to just recycle it. one day I am going to have my own fish room and I am going to do fish tutorials and I'm going to teach people in Taiwan how to make a good tank without having to stress over it people in Taiwan think it's hard to take care of a fish tank but it's actually not it's if you know what you need and how to use it it's pretty easy to maintain
African Dwarf frogs definitely love space to explore and do goofy things 😂. Nerite snails are my favorite snails 🐌 Great video I agree small tanks are only good if you’re on your complete A Game with water changes ect 👍🏼🐟🤗🐸🐌🌱
I have a 2.6 gallon made out of an old bowl sink my Betta was bought from Petfart in 2020 he’s still Thriving now 2024 eats cricket and crushed Hikari. I do one water change a month and scrub the bowl people over react over nothing.
I have my baby betta girl in a 2 1/2 right now until she gets big enough for the sorority tank….I have three juvenile girls in there now along with 5 neons (getting more neons).
I have 2 2.5 gallon planted tanks i have zero ammonia, mirate, or nitrite and have not done a single water change in the year they have been set up. I use no additives and top off with rain water.
I didn’t know about that and I just got a waste of tank 2.5 I wouldn’t mind to get up 5 gallons tank but I didn’t know no I don’t know what to do with this tank because it’s too small
I thought the oldest one was found in a family estate pond in china and they think it could have been over 150 by looking at the rings on some bone or scales
I have a question I have a 2.5 gallon tank and I know I have to do 10% to 25% water changes weekly but how much water conditioner do you put in the clean water that you put back in the tank?
