Love good technical discussions 🖒 good questions too. No matter what car you like, its hard to argue that theyve definitely put a ton of work into the mighty mouse
Very hard to find real chats about real cars these days, the level of knowledge and no nonsense approach is fantastic, just getting down to the nuts and bolts of it all, this is a top RU-vid channel and it leaves other Australian Motorsport journos for dead, not mentioning names, but I think most people will know to whom I'm referring to......lol. You don't to rattle of a catalogue of parts with brand names and bragging rights every-time you speak about a car ;) I have had it with the "cool factor" with car guys in Australia these days, it is all image and max HP with very little intellectual abilities or basic engineering principles on how real race cars work, I'm so impressed to see channels such as this giving rich content full of car nerd stuff.
Cheers mate! We're actually Kiwis but we'll still take the compliment haha. I've got some really good stuff still to be released from this year's Pikes Peak. Keep an eye out every Tuesday for it if you're keen - Taz.
his name is Andre simon hw was a very very good car tuner and motor builder from New Zealand and used to have a drag car that did 8sec..but he retired or left..
So in the previous set up, Hasport mounts were used to bolt that engine up to "standard-issue K swap" locations... How is the current set up mounted to the chassis?? I can't see the hardware, custom??
9:23 "No massive differences in cylinder temps". Pardon my ignorance but what does that mean? Is he referring to: (a) measuring the coolant temp next to each individual cylinder (I've never heard of this but not to say it doesn't exist) (b) EGT differences between cylinders (but you'd never refer to this as "cylinder temp") (c) charge air temp at each cylinder port although this in theory should be the same between cylinders (d) or do they have a way of actually measuring combustion temp directly at the combustion chamber? Great video from both of you and a great car by the way.
In a nutshell, many race tracks have noise restrictions in place as a measure to try and keep the surrounding residents happy/undisturbed. Different tracks may have different restrictions which can also change at certain times of the day. This is becoming more and more common as cities grow and racetracks that were once in the middle of nowhere suddenly find themselves surrounded by residential property - Taz.
We always take power figures with a grain of salt, different dynos, different operators and different egos can really make power numbers incompatible. What really matters is this car IS very very competitive in it's class :) - Ben
High Performance Academy u said it first man...lol...it all comes down to what works not just HP numbers... less power in some cases actually translates to a faster car...
Our videos normally focus on technical aspects. Here is a video of it on the track: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sE6VKAb86iM.html there are heaps of it on youtube :) - Ben
Would like to see more shots of the car, its different features chasis suspension. The video is 98% shots of u guys,. Nothing wrong with u guys but lets see the car more.
Not always super easy with a 2 man team at an actual racing event (as in racing is happening, not static displays), but we have more people now and you can see when it is possible later videos have a lot more b-roll. It is something we're not always happy with either just to be clear, but we do try to get the footage when possible for you guys - Taz.
@@hpa101 I'd absolutely love to see u shoot more b roll. But actually the problem I see here is just how it's edited. You could just run the broll you do have for longer portions than the shots of the guys talking. Even run it in slowmo or still shots. Just so that we can get our eyes on the amazing machinery for longer while the interview is going on
+High Performance Academy I'm just being cheeky, poking a little fun at the usage of the word "obviously", as it is spoken in the interview. No harm intended.
