Thanks heaps guys! I’m very grateful for the benefit of your experience and for you telling it plain and simple. One question; how much time are you allowed to spend in Shengen countries as Aussie yachties?
Hi Ken, thanks for watching and you questions, glad you found it helpful! We are able to spend 90 days within 180 days in a Schengen country. We planned to head to the non-schengen countries (Turkey, Croatia, Montenegro) anyway so it works out okay for us :) Hope that helps!
Hey , I just come across your youtube channel and so impressed. We are planning the same think to do in future getting thinks together to do !! But we don’t really have sailing experience, I just wonder how long experience do we need to do sailing a long turkey to Greece islands like yourself
Hi and thanks for getting in touch. This is a hard question to answer as sailing can be dangerous and there are severe winds in Greece and Turkey at times. I would recommend getting some sailing lessons and seeing if you enjoy the experience. Have you had any boating/sailing experience? Glad you are enjoying the videos 😁
Hi Oleg, We didn't actually, we just found the boat we liked on boat sales and used the sellers agent and we completed the rest ourselves. We actually made a video (Video 6) on the process to buy the boat in Turkey if that helps. Thanks for watching!
Hi @Sailing Kawai, how was the survey done? Did you guys find the surveyor yourselves? Were you happy with him/her? If you recommend the surveyor, any chance you can provide the contact information? Thanks. SG
Hi Savas, we were really happy with our surveyor, Joe Rowles - 00 90 533 4985224, 00 90 2523133403, info@marinesurveyorturkey.com. Yes we had received recommendations online. We rang Joe and booked in a time, it took 2 days. Hope that helps :). We have a video about the process video 6.
Sailing Kawai Doh!! I had watched episode 6 many months ago and totally forgot about it... in fact I was aware of joe probably through this channel... Still thanks for the answer... is there a video where you guys have a milestone report ? It’s been a while - what would you have done differently, or bought differently etc ? Happy with the Hanse 44 ?
Hi guys,I congratulate you Many people asking same questions.Buying a boat or yacht from somewhere.I start to work on one option, which is the best way for thrust and sailing safe.I would like to help for buyers as advisor skipper.I think somebody needs that. They would like to buy a boat but they don’t know about transportation.Brokers threat like commisioners but They have to know about flag changes, transportation, taxes bla bla.I think If possible, advisor skipper is the cheapest option.
Hi Midye, Thanks very much! Yes it can be a little daunting, we just wanted to share our experience. We actually went through the buying experience in video 6 to help anyone who purchased in Turkey. Best of luck :)
I wonder what value you place on the lost 6 months? I can see that you have spent something like 5000Euro on accommodation plus car hire etc. If a boat is fundamentally ok would that money not have been better spent on boat improvements and living the boat life?
Hi and thanks for getting in contact! For us the search was worth it, as we were able to find a fantastic boat at a reduced price. We purchased our boat in Turkey with very few engine hours, much cheaper than similar boats. We also visited new countries and explored. I guess it all depends on what you are looking for... Thanks for watching
Hi Djani, thank you for watching! Our boat is a Hanse 445 2013 model. The price range varies a lot depending on a a few things, might be best to do a search on yacht world and check it out based on what you're looking for. Thanks again for watching and your comment.
Hello i would like to by a boat too my budget its a little more than 50K, ill have a little question i dont know anything about sailing but am a great mecanick 38 years old redy to start my adventure sailing around the world, any womean with a sailing experience would be more then welcome sailing with me.
Hi, there are many ways to learn to sail, the sailing community are very friendly. Maybe speak with your local sailing club and they may know someone looking for a crew member, there are also specialised days where you can help out. Good luck with your adventure, being a mechanic definitely helps. If you need anything further please ask :) Hope you enjoyed the video!
I love your You tube channel already. I am looking at buying a Discovery or a southerly 48 in 2020. I am in the music business and manage songwriters/bands if you need any music let me know. PS Your Volume is fine! Im from the Uk and live in Southern California. Cheers keep up the Good work.
Hey Andy, yay, thank you glad you love it. Awesome, it's an exciting time and sounds like you are looking at great boats, we wish you all the best for your adventure, let us know how you go! Getting good music for youtube is quite difficult with all the copyright rules etc so thank you very much for the offer, we would love to check out any songwriters/bands you suggest. Thanks again.
if a sailboat rest in the palm of my hand would blow with feeling And let it go on forever towards my heart My heart the calm of a sea That keeps such secrets Several shipwrecked and no time Rhymes of winds and sails Life that comes and goes The loneliness that stays and enters Throwing me against the pier Rhymes of winds and sails Life that comes and goes The loneliness that stays and enters Throwing me against the pier if a sailboat rest in the palm of my hand would blow with feeling And let it go on forever towards my heart
Hi Harvey😃, yay how exciting! Yep no worries, we don’t have phones so might be easier if you could email any questions and we can reply there. Email is jason_s06@hotmail.com hope that helps and thanks for watching 👍🏼
Sailing Kawai Awesome, thanks guys! How long are you staying in Europe for? We are hoping to come over mid to late July. What a crazy feeling this is...we are going through every emotion you could imagine right now, than again, you guys have been there. We are in the process of selling absolutely everything, so no more ties to anything but our new future. Look forward to talking to you.. I’ll email as soon as I come down from this cloud we are on.😆 Keep the vids coming. And thank you for responding back, much appreciated.🙏🌊🏝⚓️⛵️
Harvey LOVE what an exciting time for you guys! Understand all the different feelings part too, it’s a big change that’s for sure but we found it’s been well worth it, plus it wouldn’t be an adventure without it! At this stage we plan to be in Europe until around early October then head across the Atlantic late November. Good luck with selling everything and enjoy the whole process 😃😃! We’ll keep an eye out for your email 👍🏼
Volume goes loud and soft = NOT RELAXING TO WATCH! ...so i will skip your ads, and not subscribe, but if you're lucky i might look to see if you get this sorted sometime in the future.
Hey Robin, thanks for watching and the feedback. Yeah we are aware now of this issue, apologies. When making them it seemed fine on our computer but understand doesn't mean it is for everyone. Maybe try our latest video if you like and see if it's any better.
@@SailingKawai Delos has it well sorted from the start, and even across all their vids the volume is consistent so viewers can hit Play All and relax, as do other most successful channels of varying interests. Also, the volume is kept slightly higher than ads, so that they don't jolt us either. :)
I just found your channel. I hope you continue to work on your vlogs, just keep posting regularly and your views will continue to grow. Nothing is boring if you are enthusiastic about your yacht and sailing adventures. Its your channel to do with what you like, but here is a useful video to watch. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KplSIu7ZAvk.html Be careful with ambient noise. Wind noise is really annoying when you are trying to tell your story. Subscribed. Cheers
