Can a Calvinist assist me with this question? Can a person enter heaven if he does not go to a reformed church or believe reformed doctrine? Thank you in advance and please make your answer short and to the point.
Yes of course, IF…they are one of the elect. Who makes up the elect? Only God knows. We ourselves cannot even know if we are part of the elect. I’m not saying this to be cynical or snarky. It’s just a troubling (or at least somewhat frustrating) aspect, in my opinion. With that said, I have NO claim against God. God can devise whatever form of salvation He chooses. I still need to study this more. I have dear Godly Christian brothers and sisters who are Calvinists, Arminianists, and otherwise. I have studied Calvinism and Arminianism but I will not claim to be a theologian. If you wish to learn more about Calvinism, I’d strongly suggest Dr James White, Voddie Baucham, Doug Wilson, John MacArthur, and RC Sproul (he surely is in heaven now, but he has tons of resources available). A couple leading Arminianists that come to mind are Dr Michael Brown (who is a Messianic Jew and absolutely fantastic), and Leighton Flowers
