Yessir! The 2 stroke has a 36 tooth rear sprocket while the 4 stroke is a 44 tooth so the 4 stroke is actually a little quicker out of the hole but the 2 stroke is about 10mph faster overall so it pulled away in the end!

@@juliusfonferek Not so fast. You know one factor, (the rear sprocket teeth), but there are more parts that determine the gearing, including the rear wheel diameter. Everything from the crank to the wheel diameter must be included. Basically you end up knowing how many times the crank turns when the rear wheel has made one turn, and then consider the diameter of the wheel. Even the number of teeth on your rear sprockets may bot be the same if you use different chain sizes. It is actually the diameter of the sprocket that counts, not the number of teeth. But you can use the tooth count to figure out the ratio. Want an example? OK. :) Lets just count the front and rear sprockets, and assume the same size chain is being used. Tell me which set up is geared higher. Your small sprocket is 12 teeth, and your big wheel sprocket is 48 teeth. His small sprocket is 9 teeth, and his big wheel sprocket is 36 teeth. They are the same at a 4 to 1 ratio. Divide 48 by 12, and your little sprocket turns 4 times when the big sprocket has turned once. Same with his gearing. Both of those bikes probably have some gearing between the crank and the little sprocket for the chain, and the diameter of the wheel is the last step. Just in case you were wonder why we learn math in school. But if your teacher can't figure that out,---go to a different school. :) I can give you a formula so you can make your own tuned exhaust pipe for that 2-stroke, and pretty much double the power. I modify littlle for a living. :)
