2. David and Goliath (1 Samuel 17) 

I don't know if you know this, but, this is extremely eye opening. Especially after having just watched part 2 of Steven's Sermon. Also, the one on Mose's. The insight is Powerful and I can see the Hand of God in my life, through the afore mentioned material. I've been back and forth through this material for 2 1/2 decade's. Without a church or community of any kind. This has been a long crawl. But I have never been able to stop, not since the time of my trouble back in '91. The more that I understand, the I realize that the Lord is my Shepherd, and, through Him, the Lord Jesus Christ, All thing's are possible. Even saving me. A sinner. Hallaluja I say! For even my state. I am rich in the promise of the Great I Am.

Great sermon, thanks. I believe Tyndale may have been strangled, not burned, but who knows? Bless him. It's very interesting that the philistines had iron. Even when David conquers the whole of his kingdom, he finds gold, silver and bronze. But never Iron. Lycurgus, the famous Spartan law maker who founded the Spartan constitution, was said to have travelled to Crete, and to have learned much from their laws. Now we don't know when Lycurgus lived, precisely, but it was probably not too long after the reign of David. Sometime between 1000 BCE and 825 BCE. We know that David had a bodyguard of Chesurites and Pelesites (sp) and that these were folks from Crete, likely Dorians, as the Spartans were also. Therefore, it is entirely credible that many of the legal reforms of Sparta came from exposure to the laws of Israel, via Crete. And also the helmet protecting from slings! I choose to believe this theory. )

Hi Bruce I know you don't go in for this much but in the book of mormon 600 years before Christ nephi was sent back to Jerusalem by his father with the promise of God to retrieve the family record written on bronze plates. Well the possessor of the plates named Laban tried to kill nephi and in the course of events nephi took off Labans head with his own ornate expensive sword because nephi was unarmed. Those plates and what was called Laban sword later became a part of the kings sacred treasure

I believe Jesus' lamb of God philosophy came directly from David's story...

The story of Samuel describes a race war.

Jesus also prophesied the end time, similar in verbal heading to the "abomination of the desolation" prophesied by the prophet Daniel concerning the defilement of the temple that was accomplished by Antiochus Epiphanes! The difference in Jesus's prophesy of the "abomination of the desolstion" is the universal tone, global character, as the sacred revelations of the Father are mentally subjected by the world to human idolatrous creative intelligence, including institutional religions, governments, economics, commerce, academia, medicine, all aspects of human endeavor! We are now in that prophesied time span as the world is categorically under the predicted anti-Christ "abominations of the desolations" ruled by lust of, love for, obeisance to money, power, pleasure, status, preservation of life in the world in categorical detriment, destruction to perpetual life in the Living, Loving, Presence of God! Amen!
