A series of dangerous thunderstorms rolled through southern Ontario on Saturday, leaving one person dead in Peel Region and another dead in Brant County.

Bro, I was mid-drive with my family to my Uncle's for a barbecue when the storm hit. Mid-drive when the sky changed from mildly-sunny to an agressive downpour, knocking out the power in multiple areas for awhile. That's scarily impressive how suddenly the weather can drastically change, rest in peace to the poor souls who died 😢

it was sudden, powerful. I was back from TH and 5 minutes later, the sky was dark, and the wind shaking the trees like crazy. Now it's a mess. I can't imagine how terrible a tornado is, this was already impressive.

Was at St Jacobs market , wife just had knee replacement surgery a week ago last Tuesday, I said head to the car as soon as sky went dark, started driving away and noticed wind bending trees , told wife good thing we got to car when we did , about ten minutes later on way to Drayton the rain came so hard it reminded me of blinding snow sqall , could see 2 car lengths ahead

A transport truck was flipped on its side on highway 6, and the highway had a bunch of trees fallen onto the road. Crazy weather

happened to me one time in Montreal many years ago.. was on my boat near the old port and saw a black cloud appear behind Mount Royal.... i gunned it on the St Lawrence as the boat ramp was a about 3km away.... it caught up to me and I had to slow the boat down as it got real wavy and massive thunderstorm and downpour !!! insane to say the least... always take shelter when you see the weather start to change... first sign is the wind !!! RIP to those who lost their lives today !!

That was scary and I didnt have a tornado! The sky turned black then orange-pink with super fast moving clouds, and then Bam! wind hail lightning and rain for half hour to an hour. The wind storms weve been getting are more and more intense each year. I wouldnt be surprised if we get more tornados across southern ontario this year. This is climate change! And it is sped up and more extreme bc of humans. We need to act NOW.

Its really not about human Co2 emissions, more so about the natural warming/cooling cycle of the earth. It wont matter if we slow it down it will eventually warm up and cool down again over the course of a couple thousand years. we were fortunately born during a warming period. Id rather a warming period than a cooling period.

Today i went to st. Louis from Toronto, i live i little bit further east and we took off roughly 30 mins before the storm, glad we weren’t delayed for like 5 hours, rip to those who died and to those whose property was damaged a bit or severely i wish you luck in getting things fixed up ♥️

I broke up with my partner then this storm hit in Vaughan knocking all the power out. I felt so bad leaving during a power outage I stuck around to explain my reasoning for moving on. RIP to those 2 souls lost, it's really been a chaotic day.

I was out with my granddaughter we were in the car the storm came so fast and furious it was crazy lots of debris fell on the roads many branches off trees. The rain and wind was intense. Happy it wasn’t a tornado. Many places without power here in London, Ontario.

I canceled work due to the fact that i received an emergency alert letting me know there’s gonna be served thunderstorm. No matter how small the risk really is I am not gonna risk my life for 1 day of income.

Here in ajax ont, it happened so fasf and violent it ripped our neighbours tree in 2, damaging their shed, our shade tent was toppled off the ground with its metal post.

I happened to be on my motorcycle on the highway 401 today and rode right into the storm, I had to make cover under a bridge, the force of the storm was brutal, the worst I have ever encountered.

I sometimes casually mention that BCs south coast has boring, predictable weather and zero thunderstorms. Then I see stories like this and it makes me greatful we don't get such weather. Greatful, yet sad that lives were lost. This is insane. Prayers from Vancouver.

We were in Brampton for my son's football game. Had to take shelter at Wayne Gretzky sport center where the game was. Couldn't see 3 meters out of the door, due to heavy wind and rain/hail. Very sad to hear that people nearby in Brampton lost their lives because of this storm.

I experienced this storm yesterday and i witnessed something frightening. i had seen a giant part of a building in construction falling onto the road, minutes later the ambulance or police arrived and their lights were there for a long time. We also lost most of our clothing.

When this storm came through Kingston it really wasn't that much different then the storms we usually get. No trees or power lines went down as far as I can see. Most that could be knocked down already have been by previous storms. The trees also have more rooting and stress wood as a result of normal high winds.

I think it’s 170 000 ‘customers’ out of power in Ottawa. Looking at the outages map, I’m guessing that means households, not people, so could be more like 1/3rd+ of the city without power?

While I'm sorry about the people who got hurt in this storm however I believe the reporters need to work a bit harder here on the stories. Thank you for letting me know that grandma is safe, for showing me a picture of sand moving, and the "crime scene" where the tree fell.
