2 HARSH VOCALISTS?? KITTIE | ONE FOOT IN THE GRAVE 

The screams that Mercedes, the drummer/backup vocals and sister of vocalist/guitarist Morgan Lander, seems to be doing in the video “One Foot in the Grave” is actually her lip syncing to Morgan’s recorded screams. I’m sure she’ll do them live but Mercedes screams are much lower, near death metal intensity. You can tell they’re Morgan’s screams, but it looks way better having Mercedes do it then having no one, so I think it worked great! She adds great melodies with her beautiful harmonies and her growls compliment Morgan’s higher scathing and scornful screams tremendously well both live and on recorded songs. If you listen/watch “Eyes Wide Open”, her’s are the lower screams during the chorus & you can see her move her mouth to the words, she does the backup vocals live on “Brackish”, and she sings on “Vultures”, and is featured on many more songs. I absolutely can’t wait to listen to the album and listen to the magic this super talented group of ladies came up with. I have a feeling “Fire”, “I Still Where the Crown”, “Wound”, & “Grime” will be nice and heavy with some great scream and probably a little bit of singing. Hoping to hear more of the Lander sisters to scream my at the same time. They’ve gotten so much better over the years- easily most underrated and most improved band. So happy that’s changing! 💜💜💜

Kittie started in 1996 when they were 15 years old and started writing songs when they were as young as 12!!! They were HUGE in 1999/2000 Nu Metal scene and headlined the 2nd stage at the Ozzffest festival!!! Back then they weren't taken very seriously because of being ALL GIRLS, being labeled "female metal" band. Btw, the singer Morgan Lander and drummer Mercedes Lander are Sisters and the founding members, all though the guitarist Tara McLeod has been with the band since their 4th studio release in 2007 and Bassist Ivy is an amazing Bassist (R.I.P. to bassist Trish Doan who passed away).

This is the 4th single off the NEW upcoming album FIIRE on Sumerian Records getting released on the 21st!!! The 1st single was the HEAVIEST so far "Eyes Wide Open" with ALL HARSH vocals and death metal style growls!!! They came out SWINGING!!!! The 2nd single is "We Are Shadows" and the 3rd single is "Vultures" both having that mixture of clean and harsh vocals, both still heavier than this one! They were on a 13 year hiatus!!! They haven't released a full album since "I've Failed You" in 2011 and I'm SO EXCITED for the new CD to drop 10 days!!!!!! I never heard of this group before and I like what I hear. These women know what they are doing and they do it well. Love seeing you come over to the metal side. 😆😆😆😆

So I don't know a lot about them. But this is their first album in about 10 years. They were pretty big back in the teens, when I was more in classic rock mode. But what I've heard of them I like . Great reaction!
