Great content regarding the boater. Yes, it's true that the boater will float if it falls in the water if it's a legit boater, due to the way it needs to be constructed. I have a Scala boater as well and that will float just not that long lol. Panama hats are actually considered more formal than boaters, boaters were actually worn for spectating at sporting events. I've worn mine casually but I definitely agree it's for live men not freshman. It's all also important to a guy to know which hat works for his head so he gets the right crown and the right brim width. great video.

you can steam the brim of the panama hat, just like a felt hat, if you want to mold the brim, I did that to my panama hat.

Boater hat its from the 20's to the 40's.. you should leave it like that!! I know fashions come back.. although usually with a twick.. I feel the boater's history should stay like that.. untouchable. Unless you are trying to recreate an era.. costume party or if you are from that era.. just a humble opinion.. from a historian
