Thanks so much for watchin' guys! I'm curious what'd you all think of Bedman's new theme? Though the Hourglass is still my fav DLC track, I absolutely LOVE The Circle & think it's an utter God slapper. Expect another Strive OST vid with Pie very soon~
Samsara is the circle of reincarnation. Bedman is on its edge, not able to move on. Without thinking he keeps being pulled back to protect Delilah, and it keeps him trapped. Bedman may be a candidate for enlightenment (escaping the cycle and breaking free of the circle) but his attachment to his sister is holding him back. The infinite is waiting, and he's locked on the boarder of the finite. He's gotten to the point where he can see and define both, but it doesn't matter.
Nice interpretation though! I think most ppl can agree with the idea that Bedman is just stuck in limbo but is able to push his will through the Bed. Also considering how he died, I think he just wants to protect Delilah from the cruel end he faced when he realized he knew nothing
This song is insane, genuinely, it has the same chaotic energy as Drift, but with the depressing regret if Let Me Carve Your Way, phenomenal song, definitely a new member of my top 5, albeit it won't replace Let Me Carve Your Way.
I think this song as a whole its the saddest one ever, from my analysis bedman its describing the living hell that he is in right now, in the guilty gear series hell works in a way where you are stuck in a space that forces you to do something endlessly to pay for your sins, and bedman its no exception, as he is now stuck suffering in hell for being betrayed as he was trying to do the right thing, for all the people he has killed, with his punishment being that he will keep suffering in hell, while at the same time protecting delilah with his bed, because when he was alive he always wasted other peoples lives to get to his objective and make sure her sister wouldve been okay, and now he needs to waste his own life to do it. He is in fact multiple times in the OST asking god if he can see the light outside, with the circle representing the "hells circle" he is stuck in, with god at some point even replying and telling him that he cant, because he can "give someone something" aka protecting his sister. And now he is at the border of said circle, which is letting him control the bed basically. Its like this entire song its bedman explaining the endless pain he is feeling as he is now stuck in hell, but no matter what he would keep pushing to make delilah happy and make sure she is ok at all cost ("endless, finite" and "pitch black, pure white, all the same" also indicates that down there in that pit of hell he has no idea of the time passing and his surroundings, like in an empty void, theres no light or darkness, no time either and then as he says "theres nothing here"
This is definitely one of the most unique interpretations of this song that I’ve read. I wouldn’t have thought of the “Circle” being a hell’s circle he’s trapped in for his crimes, but now that you’ve explained it I can see it being possible answer too.
@Messagertic V yeah, and its very sad especially because he was lied to by the universal will, which means its not even his fault that he is now suffering so much 😭
@@andreadicastro8525 largely agree with your idea, but I think that he's trapped in a hell of his own making. He refused to move on in order to protect his sister and now he's stuck in limbo like your idea
Damn.... Not only he got tricked into doing some dubious shit, but also ended up like fucking DUST in the end of XRD story mode, I like to think he used his in-game ability DEJA VÚ to imprint himself into the bed, so he's in a state of nothingness, the song says he cant see the light, cant hear the chant, cant FEEL shit.... Feels bad; I HOPE ASUKA'S THEME IS SOME GOOD SHIT, like his GG Overture theme THE MAN
I don’t know a ton about Bedman but this song feels like he’s stuck in limbo between life and death. He questions God about if he can feel warmth, hear music, etc and then near the end of the song he answers his own questions. It’s almost like they’re in similar positions of being aware of the world but not being able to experience anything, beings on the border of the circle of life and death. It’s also said by Delilah that the Bed has been acting strange and has moments of lashing out. I think part of Bedman’s soul is in the Bed and it’s what’s keeping him in this limbo state. It’s interesting how before the bed looked entirely artificial but now there’s more and more flesh showing, almost like something’s trying to break out. In the song Bedman states his main desire is to protect Delilah, causing the Bed to not listen to its programming. Hypothetically even if Bedman “takes over” the Bed he’s still trapped in limbo. Hed be in a bio mechanical body with no real way to life a life. He’s forever trapped in a place where he can’t experience life or death, only in between. An eternal nightmare. But even after he comes to the realization that God doesn’t feel anything, he only wants to protect his sister.
My personal interpretation is that God responds to Bedman when the song does the last "Do you see the radiant light" and gave bedman a second chance at life in the bed. Also the bed was always organic, but the fact that it's shown more in this version is interesting.
I fee like a lot of people don’t like it because it’s weird and unorthodox but imo it tells bedmans story without having to know anything abt him when he was alive whic makes it strong
Also I think Asuka might lament on all the terrible shit he's done but probably talk about moving on? Or talk about the history of it all (since he ended Strive with starting a radio show)
the "circle" could quite literally be the spherical head of the bed machine. i think the bed staying intact prevents him from fully dying so thats why it was supposed to self destruct, but whatever abstract form of consciousness he still has within the bed itself prioritized protecting his sister over ending his existential nightmare. pretty deep bro.
For a glimpse at how Asuka's theme might sound here's his boss theme from GG Overture: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Vr0NakVipvE.html
I prefer to think so far that Bedman is truly dead and not controlling the machine at all. What Bedman? is just a failing machine trying to carry out its masters final wish to protect his sister.
Personal take? I think Bedman Ship of Theseus himself at the end of Xrd. He has shown powers and understanding of how to create copies using the information of the Backyard, considering it was his personal plan to create a better world. I suspect in his last moments he attempted to create a copy of himself in the programming of the bed to protect Delilah after his death. But it brings back up the problem of the Ship of Theseus in that say you died and someone created another copy of you, would you or others have the same emotional connection to the copy? I believe Bedman basically created an informational copy of himself and uploaded it into the bed, living on as a literal ghost in the machine if you will. This is why you see it's behavior become erratic, it's powers that resemble Bedman's being refereed to as "errors", and while it's guided by an overarching desire top protect Bedman's sister it doesn't show his full suite of powers. I think the song is from this copy's perspective, lamenting it's torment and cruel understanding that it's progenitor did this to it.
Some people have been saying that the song basically talks about how Bedman's stuck in the process of attaining enlightenment. He's stuck on the border of the circle of reincarnation because of his attachement to his sister. The sitar in the part of god do you see the radiant light...
This song is another masterpiece by Lord Daisuke. The creativity on display not just for the musicality, but the lyrics have more layers than an onion. I need to learn the baseline to this song so badly.
"come to me ten billion years in an instant" Is probably about the psychic intelligence disease he had in Xrd , where he experienced billion of years of knowledge all at once, "But I'll come to you without a second thought" Straightforward he will protcc Delilah and come to her no matter what
I really want them to explore Delilah more because in the Side story Delilah just straight up says that when it comes to sheer power she is stronger than her brother So imagine what she is gonna be like after she matures under Baiken and learns to control her immense power Cannot wait for the next game and hoping she is in it
