I'm so glad I found someone else that just love the harmony vocal parts. The second time where God answers the vocal saying " NO, you can'"t see the radiant light " and such is AMAZING. I love it so much. It's like divine punishement and it's a tragic story for the character. It's so GOOD.

God answering? What implies that's the case? All the questions, if that's the case, would imply that the questions are towards God, not Bedman.

@@Sassaparilla I don't think it's in a literal sense, but the lyrics do say " God, do you see the radiant light ? " With the followups being " No, you can't see the radiant light" with the heavier tone voice. It's a personnal interpretation, but I believe the whole song to be from Bedman's perspective just after having died in Xrd. He killed a lot of people during that story, in the name of the infinite world ( referenced in the song too ), believing that all those deaths would be reversed once he achieved his goal. But right as he died, Ariels told him that it was a lie, he killed all those people for nothing. He was manipulated into being a mass murderer for a false goal, which is why I find the idea of divine punishment fits so well. He's basically in purgatory.

@@Nooctae I'm just going to make this short. One, I know Romeo's lore, you don't need to explain it. Two, the song and story heavily implies that he is not properly dead. IIRC, HC even basically confirms he never passed on. The song implies that he has trapped himself in a Limbo state, rather than moved on. Specifically, in the Backyard. The video has a misheard lyric, actually a few, but most importantly, "Consuming ten billion years in an instant" not "Come to me". This is a VERY important distinction. There's only one place you can "Consume" years worth of knowledge in an instant, The Backyard. The Backyard can be PERFECTLY described as a Pure White, Endless, Silent and Empty Abyss. To the point that, if you couldn't see anything, nothing would actually change. Thus, it is also a Pitch Black, Finite world, as you can walk forever but never go anywhere. There's no contrast to deem change has ever happened. Now, the important part is all about the Circle and the choice in instrument. Notably, he tries to go outside of the Circle, and he was stuck on its border. What is the Circle? Well, considering the notable use of Sitar, his ties to Deja Vu, and the very spiritual nature of things that pop up here and there in GG, there's a good chance that the "Circle" is meant to refer to two things. The literal cycle of Samsara, and "the whole picture". Having trapped himself in his current state, he has sacrificed all futures for himself. Breaking out of the cycle of death and rebirth. He's not alive nor dead, has no home, can never rest, all sacrificed for his idea of the bigger picture, to ensure his sister can be safe and happy in the future, and move on without him. I could go way more in depth, but, I have other things i need to do right now. Peace.

Divine punishment? He straight up disses the gods that they can't feel all thoes things, and that he chooses mortal life over godhood he wanted to make possible in Xrd

@@Sassaparilla I think the implication is that no, Bedman can't see the radiant light, warmth, chant (of heaven) because he can still give someone something. The someone being his sister and the something being his protection, he want to go to heaven, to break free from the circle of life, but even in death he's stuck to his bed, this is basically him coming to terms with not being able to move on yet, and while he can't be there for Delilah to make her happy, he can be there to stop her from getting hurt, hence the not being able to make her smile but not making her cry ever.

I honestly like how often and suddenly the song shifts around. Considering how Bedman is, dude was always thinking a million miles per hour. And especially seconds before death one must wonder what all was going through his mind, and thats what this song represents

in Guilty Gear Strive. Bedman, as you know, is a boy plagued with a disease that forces him to be asleep permanently lest his mind collapses under the weight of his own thoughts. The same goes for his sister, Delilah, which you can see here. His goal was to create an absolute world where him and his sister could live freely and happily. At the end of Xrd, Bedman died but through a last ditch effort lifted the disease from his sister which allowed her to wake up. Instead of fully passing on however, a part of Bedman's soul ended up in his bedframe, which was his "weapon" in Xrd. A robot killing machine of sorts. This ties into the whole robotic feel of the song. The "copy that" being a reference to programming and (I don't know what you called it?) the same-pitch singing which gives it that monochrome feel. The Circle in this song describes the circle of life and dead and how instead of passing on into heaven (beautiful chants, tender warmth etc), he is now stuck in this rotting decaying bedframe, unable to speak, store memories and feel emotion in general. He is simply motivated by that primal instinct to protect Delilah. ("I'm here", "I'll never make you cry even once") Quite morbid when you think about it. So that why the song has such interesting lyrics in my opinion it really takes a deep dive into the story of guilty gear to figure everything out about some themes such as bedmans! Also loved the video :D

By the way, the first songs out of ASW that went down to a low B were in BBCS as you said, and that happens to be when they included session guitarist Takayoshi Ohmura, who famously plays 7s. When Ohmura was no longer the session guitarist in later BB games, songs like Plastic Night II no longer had the riffs that used the low B. I think it's safe to say that the guitar players Daisuke has perform on the tracks influence the tunings/guitars used in the arrangements.

Yup and I am a very big fan of takayoshi so it was cool to see him on Hard Corps Uprising and BBCS. But yeah it seems it's more of who is playing on the album. So either they got a hold of 7's or are playing in b standard on six strings

@@HurtboxTV Potemkim's theme in Xrd feels like a riff someone would write in a drop tuning. And I believe that's the same session guitarist playing on Strive. But that's just that song. The range used in these Strive songs really makes it feel like a 7.

It's a tossup between Requiem, Armorclad Faith, and kiss of Death. Strive has a lot of good songs on it so it's hard for me to say tbh lol

I appreciate you being able to pick out the guitar parts, i struggle to hear things under the main layer of any song i listen to. A lot of the guitar parts that aren't drowned out by the rest of the song always give me a feeling of horror and dread, especially the solo, and hearing the parts of that i struggle to hear also gives me that feeling, which i think really blends well with the overarching story of the song.

Can't wait to hear your thoughts on Elphelt's theme!! Her theme in Xrd is my favorite song on that entire OST and there's bits of it that you can hear in her Strive theme.

Bedman?s theme is soooo much better than I ever thought it would be, it really caught me off guard how good its slow parts are. The main chorus has an extremely catchy melody to it, the harmonics as you mentioned are just beautiful, and the heavy hitting metal is *really* heavy, which all makes for so much better of a song than Daisuke had to make. The Circle is a surprise top-tier for Strives music for me
