This was extremely helpful. I had the sheet in the wrong direction (why does it say it’s 12x12 if it’s not???) and it kept folding up at the corner and eventually broke the right roller into pieces. I have a new machine now and I was desperate to find out why that kept happening so it didn’t happen again, and this was the only video I found that addressed that. Thank you!

I lose the middle handles with E mat and when it start to poll the mat mat with some shapes it wiggles any tips for that.

I'm sorry I don't understand what you mean. The electrostatic charge has to be maintained between the bed and the materials the entire time. If the charge is being broken it can be for many reasons - high cut settings, the design, the material, etc.

Why did they not put some kind og marking on it? Such as an arrow, that would have made sense.

We asked the same thing when we saw it presented at Summit. Basically the answer was - they just didn't. We gave our recommendations at that time, but of course the products have already been manufactured.

I’m really interested in the 5 w/static bed. The older I get the harder it is to weed( cardstock). I bought design ID 430281 from Sil Library it took forever with all the tiny areas. How would something like that work ? I know it’s new but how long do you think the E mats will last assuming you are extra careful. Thanks for all you do to help us.

Some designs are better than others. Keep in mine that the ES charge is what holds the piece in place while it cuts. The smaller the surface area of a piece cut out, the less ES charge holding it in place. But, I've had very successful cuts with some small images. The ES bed should last a long time as long as it's stored properly and kept safe. The ES protective sheets will need to be replaced with use, just like a cutting mat, but I've been cutting with mine since October and I only replaced it for a video because it's starting to look not so pretty.... it still works fine, but doesn't show well with videos after the hundreds and hundreds of cuts I've done.

I am thinking on buying the portrait 4. Can I place any material on it ? Such as heavy cardstock, cardboard and wood veneer? Or is it only for light thin materials ? Thanks in advance !

Hello! I just got my new electrostatic mat and have watched every video i can find on it. However, what i can t find is why it wont feed into my cameo 5/ it slides right up the rollers but wont go any further. and yes- iam pushing the into button. help!

Is the right roller set in the proper location? If it's hitting the ES bed it will not load. It has to be lined up exactly to roll in the groove on the side of the electrostatic bed. When it's lined up properly, when the load button is pushed, it will pull the bed in. The Electrostatic Protection Sheet can not be blocking the roller or groove either.

I just hooked my new ES bed to my Cameo 5 and rightly deduced the correct mat placement, but it was great to have it validated by you. And I was relieved to see that I have just the correct amount of clearance in front and back of the machine. However, what I came looking for was an answer as to what the two 1inch x 14 inch pieces of plastic are for that came included in the mat's protective packaging sleeve. Any idea what they're for?
