You will need to direct download exactly as I show in the video where you commented. That is the only way right now as Silhouette is having issues with syncing direct to the library. You'll need to install the font directly on the computer - Download the font and then follow this to install directly. You will not be able to sync files to the library until the issues are fixed.
You will need to download the files direct as instructed in this video and then install direct - here is how - silhouette-secrets.com/2020/03/17/lets-explore-v4-installing-fonts/
In general, lagging is either related to the computer itself or the objects that are being used. Some tools can be more data intensive than others. For instance, when opening a png file and using Autotrace in the software, that adds a ton more data to the file - like exponentially more data. This can lead to lagging and each users computer will vary in how it is handled. It really depends on what the user is doing and is a guessing game without knowing more exact details. But, I rarely encounter lagging and when I do, it's on a large graphic image or I'm asking the software to process a huge amount of data and recalculate things.
Hi, I have a mac and cannot connect to my Silhouette Studio. The machine shows up as ready but the send button is greyed out. I've tried all the steps and still can't connect. Are there any more troubleshooting options? Silhouette has no real support these days.
I would need more information in order to troubleshoot. What MAC OS? What software version do you have on the MAC - under Silhouette Studio in the top left under About - what are all the numbers for the version - for instance v4.5.770? How are you connected to the Silhouette machine? Bluetooth or USB? If usb cord, are you using a connector for the MAC?
Hi, thank you. I appreciate the response. I ended up finally being able to connect. It’s a new world when you can’t go direct to a company for support. Thank you for being out there for us.
Once logged in to the Silhouette Design Store, click the person icon in top right. On the side under Credits, it will show a credit balance. It has been reported that it does not show when those credits expire. They are aware. The site is not complete yet. However, it has also been reported that credits may not appear accurately. Once the website is fixed, I am told, they will review all accounts affected by credits and subscriptions.
I can't tell you what a relief it is to see your video. I was gifted the Cameo Pro5 and was disheartened to see there were no instructions, Quick start, nothing. Agreed with @bobathorpe, the QR code is less than acceptable. Thank you again!
Thank you for keeping all the setup "hiccups" in this video. They are extremely invaluable when someone is setting up their machine for the first time. When I teach web design/development classes, I tell my students upfront "I'm going to do this from scratch just like you, so we can make mistakes and fix them as we go." If the training is perfect, then students don't know what to do when they hit those snags and their on their own.
OMG I am so glad I ran into this video... I have been having problems with cutting issues, I am about to try your method now.. I'll be back with some more feed back.
Goo d afternoon, Silhouette Team, I having problems with cutting my images/ Its not cutting the images exactly on the edge of the images, and I have sized it accordingly, Please assist, Thank you!
Please follow this as a test for print and cut - set it up exactly this way using all the defaults and does it cut - silhouette-secrets.com/2020/01/28/lets-explore-v4-print-cut-basics/
No. It has to be able to maintain a charge between the bed and material being cut. Fabric won't hold that charge... here's a little more information - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EQGc1JZv6kI.htmlsi=KsTOShaipZDf8JKL
Doesn't matter what I do, the GST file once extracted still doesn't allow me to open them. I did everything you said and the file once extracted, opens up in the GST file, again!
so i seriously need your help. i bought this tool ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WGtmsnzQ40I.html and, trying to etch on 3mm acrylic but not working at all. 2 issue here is one, the engrave tool position does not match where the acrylic plate is. is there a way to adjust the engrave tool position manually? second is when it tries to engrave, the image and image between passing lines leave its trace. so it actually damge and scratch the acrylic plate. do you think this is coz the plate 3mm is too thick? so it touches the surface? if so is there a way to manually life a lift the tool, bit upper? sorry just, theres no where i could ask for this issue. thank you.
You are using the Silhouette Etching tool that was for the Curio 1 in the Curio 2? It is not designed for use in the Curio 2 and is not supported by Silhouette to do so.
You have to change the Material type and adjust the cut settings. It does not remember that from project to project. Cardstock is the default. For print and cut - start here and follow it exactly to do a test with a Silhouette brand cutting mat - does it read? silhouette-secrets.com/2020/01/28/lets-explore-v4-print-cut-basics/
Calibration is only for print and cut. Cutting over each other usually means the settings are too high and the blade is getting stuck at some point. Especially on the Curio 2 since it's a flat bed system. Or the blade isn't installed correctly or the height detection wasn't done properly. All those factors can affect the force applied which would affect cut placement.
Did you stop a cut job? If so, dod you click the x to close out of the job? If you did amd its still there, close everything down completely, including the computer and unplug the Silhouette from the wall outlet and the power bank in the middle of the power cord- let that sit for 5 minutes.
It will work the same for fonts.... however, fonts are installed directly onto your computer, not into Silhouette - here is how - silhouette-secrets.com/2020/03/17/lets-explore-v4-installing-fonts/
I don't know about the alcohol markers but I should note that you should not use alcohol on acrylic, acrylic is under compression from making it and alcohol drys the natural oils inside and can cause cracking especially along the cut edge or engraving areas, cracks may not form right away either and may take days or even weeks to show up so just be careful. Acrylic inks are pretty good on acrylic especially where it has a tooth to bite onto (engravings) so that might be an option.
Alignment tool? Do you mean the little white blade adjustment tool? Silhouette America did have that option available prior to their website update - right now all I see is a rocket ship in the thumbnail image, so I have no idea as they are still in the process of updating. www.silhouetteamerica.com/adjustment-tool-type-b
@@SilhouetteSecrets Thanks for your fast response. Yes, I meant the white adjustment tool. FYI, I did find a maker on Etsy that makes them Cameo 3 and 4. Plus they're yellow, so they're harder to lose!! Thanks again for your videos, my hobby is helping me keep my blood pressure down 🙂.
