I wanted to post this comment just in case anyone is watching this video for similar reasons. I suffer from chronic UTIs so I have to be careful with what I put in my bath. Bubble baths do not technically cause UTIs, but they can lead to an infection if the skin in that general area becomes irritated. Irritaton or inflammation in that area leaves you more susceptible to harmful bacteria thus leading to an infection. I love my bubble baths and that is why am here to be a little more frugal and have control of what is going into my bubble bath. I have very mildly sensitive skin, but due to my health issues I take extra precautions when it comes to bathing products to avoid skin inflammation and potential infection. I find it helpful to do a patch test on small area of skin, most often the inside of my wrist and wait at least a day to see if any irritation occurs before I go ahead and use the product. I am excited to test out this bubble bath and see if it could be a good alternative for me. 😁

I used to as well. Its most likely due to overgrown candida that was the case for me i only found that out after my naturopath requested my hair for a dna test. So then i was recommend to go vegan for 6 weeks as bacteria and infection love dairy and feed off it. I also took my naturopaths mixture of herbs and high doses of vit c zinc and d and six weeks later after my retest my candida was gone. 10 years on i still have no utis

I'm so glad you posted this! We switched to natural soaps (mostly castile) a couple years ago, and the thing my kids have missed most is bubble bath.

My BF cannot tolerate ANY scent . So NO bubble bath for me.. I am getting my bathroom remodeled and I am going to toss out all my other cleaning supplies and keep it simple. This will be great for my Tubby Time!!! I need to research dr bronners again to make other cleaning supplies.

Have you ever tried Aritha powder from Indian grocery. Mix with some Neem and create a watery paste. Apply like a mask to your hair. When you rub the mixture it will start to bubble, because aritha is the REAL natural non chemical soap that bubbles. I hope this may be of benefit and Neem powder mask left dry for at least an hour removes most oil and acne. Thank you for your wonderful video!

Hi Jae, I've been making my own tiny jam jar size deodorant for a few years now saving hundreds of pounds and..it works, you don't smell sweaty. Try 1tbl coco oil, 1/4 tsp arrowroot powder and baking soda plus a few drops of your favourite essential oil. If you do have a skin irritation then lessen the soda a bit. I heard you say all you need is Castile soap and veg. Glycerin and I jumped for joy! I I’ve had these two things on hand for a while with no idea what to do with them. My kids have been missing bubbles baths so I made it as you were talking. Threw it in my husbands bath but it didn’t sud up. I’ll try again in my kids bath though before I give up trying to make my own stuff lol

Hmmm I am not sure, did you measure it correctly? It gets really bubbly usually.

@@ouroilyhouse You must have "soft" water. Anybody who doesn't should measure the amount of liquid castile soap they need to make suds in a measured volume of their water, adding a little soap between shakings until the suds hold. Multiply the amount of soap that took by the ratio of a bathtubful to the volume of the water sample. For many people that'd wind up taking a ridiculous amount of soap.

Hi, Thanks for the video. I tried this recipe but it created a crumbly ish residue which floated on top of the water and some sunk to the bottom as well. No bubbles created. Any ideas please on what may have gone wrong? Thanks

I had lots of conflicting comments on this recipe. It works great for some and not at all for others. I did a little digging and figured out that it has to do with having hard or soft water.

Not in the same bath you use the bubble bath in. If the bubble bath works in your water, and you add Epsom salt to the same bath, then you'll see the same curds, scum, and lack of bubbles reported by those for whom it doesn't work.

Water "hardness". A bathtubful of MOST people's waters has too much calcium and/or magnesium for this to work without using a large amount; could require literally CUPS full of liquid castile soap in some waters with a large tub. Anyone wanting to try this recipe, unless they have a water softener, should test a measured sample of their water with the liquid soap to see how much soap it takes to make suds in a given amount of water. Multiply the amount of soap needed by the ratio of the water sample you use to the amount of water in a bathtub.

Ingredients: 16-ounce spray bottle 1/2 cup castile soap 10 drops wild orange 10 drops lemon 10 drops lime Directions: Add essential oil and castile soap to spray bottle and top off with water. You can add 1 tablespoon to a sink of warm water or spray one time on each dish to wash individually.

Tried this with coconut oil a few years back and it didn't work at all. No bubbles. So proof of concept with a small amount so you don't waste your all to expensive castile soap and other ingredients.
