It's funny how people have absolutely no respect for offensive lineman and even less respect for anyone who didn't play after 2000, I mean zero respect. John Hannah was awesome
@rexyoshimoto4278
@rexyoshimoto4278 5 лет назад
You got that right! Without good offensive linemen, you'd have no game. They're the first line. Why sports writers and video editors hate them is they never carry the football. Offensive guards are essential.

To be fair the level of play in the NFL has increased a great deal since Hannah played and since 2000. Hannah was a 6’2 265 Guard, they have linebackers that big in the NFL today idek if he could step out of a time machine and compete without putting on 20-30 lbs. hell I’m a D3 linebacker/safety and he’s the same height as me and only has ab 40lbs on me. He is incredibly athletic for his size and today I think he’d still be a solid player on defense where he could put that quickness to good use That paragraph sounded disrespectful to Hannah and I don’t mean it to be, I just wanted to hammer home that guys in today’s NFL are bigger, stronger, faster and smarter and it would not be easy for him to adapt. That being said because of how dominant, great and everything he did for the game and the Patriots organization I’d absolutely consider him to be the #2 patriots player of all time the real point I wanted to make was ab decency bias

Mike Youngblood the patriots averaged 10 wins a year from 76 to 1980. 81 we went 2-14 but most games were close. 82,83, 84 we were 1 game over .500 and in 85 went to super bowl in Hannahs last year....the patriot running game was very mediocre right after 73 retired, the guy was a athletic, fkg mean bulldozer. He was every bit as good on oline as gronk is at te and could play hurt

Yet Hannah played from 73 to 85. He was around to have run into the dynasty that was the Steelers of the 70s, 4 rings and pumped with roids. Why does Hannah come into this? Because your initial comment was about why there were no highlights against the Steelers. That's why. So anything you said regarding players and its team being relevant before the 70s IF they took steroids doesn't even matter because we're talking about a player who was around the time the Steelers were injecting and winning rings.
