Your jacket is messed up, you probably cant see shit through your nomex seeing how it covers your entire face and you didnt clip into your bottle or even turn it on. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast, and fast is lethal. Make sure you do it right so you dont become a statistic
I'm pretty sure you are surposed to have those shoes on your feet, not laying behind you.... 🙄 And I agree with everything the others point out, but the first thing is, you don't even have all your gear on!!
@@lesliechow4719 it’s pretty heavy, as my dad is a firefighter and I tried on his gear and could barely even hold myself up. 2nd of all the coats and pants are all fire resistant, it’s not the weight that keeps it from burning.
TFS my nephew went to Bakersfield in January to work with the fire department and I haven’t ever seen any of the training exercises that he will be doing. This is a great experience for me and I applaud you for sharing.
Reminds me of the days when I would be in a fire station in Albuquerque every other day Note: I’m not and was never a firefighter, a close relative of mine was
Well luckily we have truck rides to the scene, if you ever need more time you don’t have to rush and make mistakes you just concentrate on doing it right.
You don't use going to the call to fix your gear. Get it right the first time. And like Pesky said, what if the call is in front of the station, or he's a vollie and comes across it while going to the station?
According to prior comments, he didn't even do it correctly though. Apparently he's supposed to have proper visibility after putting his hood on and have an oxygen tank connected for it to be a proper suit-up.
@@brandonmoon5388 Agreed, but he did that in 1min, while to pass the test, you need to do it under 2min, from what I remember(Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong). I'm pretty sure with +1min, he could be good 🤔
The 2 minute drill I was trained on you had to turn the bottle on and be breathing from it. Not to mention you didn't pass if your gear wasn't squared away upon completion. By the way kid I threw a 1min 18 second time on the board at 36 years old, keep practicing.
Fantastic that your so fast at this, but you do understand that normal people run from a fire. Practicing to get dressed even faster to go to a fire is insane!
Whats the point? Im a german FF and i just jump in my boots pull up the pants, throw on my jacked grab my helmet and get on the engine. Do the rest on there. Close jacket, shoulder scba, put on mask, then the nomex hood, then the helmet and gloves.
Not bad. Best to turn bottles all the way on before swinging in the drill. N I hate those necklace mask holders. Strong work. Never be the asshole thats fumbling on the front lawn.
What fire have u been to that firefighters are putting their scba on In the yard?? We do ours in the engine on the way to the call we just don’t put our mask on n don’t get on air til we know we need to.
@@charlyrodzz Because you can get killed in a TC not being secured. Get your gear on right and it's not an issue. Once the rig is moving everyone should be seated and belted in.
He may have made mistakes to “The Hammer of Ben”, however where’s E for effort? Practice makes perfect & you should encourage, give positive instruction for improvement & share your knowledge as a big brother, rather than publicly criticize. Make peace, not war; build up & serve one another, for their good & success, and do so with a good heart. Meanwhile, treating others, as you’d like others to treat you, especially not social media! 👍✌️
I had the same Cheland. In an army race, after sleep, you need to quickly pull on all the heaps of uniforms while the match is on! if someone from the team does not have time, the whole team starts over
