Hello Antoine, I have seen the original message on 3DExperience Community. As you upgrade to a new Release (and not hotfix) you are actually installing a new Version of the software from scratch. When you talk about customization, you are actually talking of Preferences. Indeed these are reset to zero. What happen is that the Environment file in the installation path is new. You need to select again your options/preferences. Same for shortcuts unfortunately. It is annoying to do it again, but they will be saved after restart. However, your 3DExperience "Customization" meaning custom attributes, custom naming, etc. are still intact after a release upgrade. Hope this will help.

@@MaximeChagnot well, as you mentioned it is a new release and not an minor update. I know Settings can be copy/paste from installation folder, should be working prefs and interface.

@@DJ_Snake Yes it might be possible to copy previous settings (CATEnv) to new environment. Did you asked Dassault about it?

We hear your frustration and agree with you that a message should tell this information before installing it. We are not developing the software, only reselling it. For the b421 folder, you should keep it for the moment. If you want to delete it, make sure that you have uninstall R2019x first. We tried to copy the Environment file from R19x to R20x, but even with modifying the folder in the environment file, it did not work. Hello Thomas and Antoine, we opened a Service Request and got phone call from Cloud team (really efficient service!) Here is the answer to the “lost preferences/customization problem” Your Settings are not stored into your CATEnv. This is the reason why nothing changes when you restart your session. 1 - Open Explorer windows 2 - C:\Users ame\AppData\Roaming\DassaultSystemes\CATSettings Then you can copy the settings from your folder R421 to R422. It worked for us. We got back our preferences from 19x to 20x :D ! Hope this was helpful!
