I really like your videos. You set the right and healthy age appropriate expectations. Seeing on social media and being asked about if my 2 month old is sleeping through the night does not make sense.

Thanks so much for all the information. I couldn’t get my baby to sleep at night until I had him sleep right next to me on the bed, but I’m scared of SIDS so I want to transition him to sleep in play pen in our room. He’s 7 weeks old and I don’t know if its too early or too late for this change. He cries so much when we put him down anywhere and in the day time he sleeps 2-3 hr stretches but only in our arms or in his swing. Any more tips?

Getting your newborn to sleep well (on their own) can be challenging. It's definitely not too early OR too late. We can always get babies sleeping well, no matter the age or situation. Here's my 2 month old sleep guide: www.babysleepmadesimple.com/how-to-help-2-month-old-baby-sleep-well Swaddling baby can help him settle easier and sleep better. I love the SwaddleMe blanket. You can get him to sleep by holding, rocking or feeding- then gently place him in the Pack n Play. It's ok to help young babies fall asleep. Also, play white noise all night long and darken the bedroom. My sleep guide above has lots more tips. I hope they help! Jilly

I have a month old and I’m finding that a heartbeat song noise is helping out. Her naps are a full 15 minutes in the crib without waking up. I’m hoping to continue this week and get to the 30 minute naps. The heartbeat song is from Apple music

How do you teach a baby this age (between 1 and 2 months) to connect sleep cycles so that they will take longer naps? He is able to at night but not during naps for some reason. My 6 week old will nap for 1.5 to 3 hours on me, but will only top out at 45 minutes sleeping alone in his crib/bassinet..
@Babysleepmadesimple
@Babysleepmadesimple 4 года назад
Hello Danielle, Thanks so much for your message. With our little babies that are still in that "fourth trimester", we really can't do very much to help them connect sleep cycles since it is more of a developmental change that happens later on. We often see babies connect sleep cycles closer to 5 months after the 4 month regression occurs. I am attaching our 2 month old sleep guide though! It has many helpful tips that can improve your little one's sleep and help to form healthy sleep habits early on. Let me know if you have any questions! Hi l, love the video. For nap times during the day would you also say darken the room and play white noise? Also, what would you say is a good routine for bedtime? Does it always have to include bath time every night? Thanks!
@Babysleepmadesimple
@Babysleepmadesimple 7 месяцев назад
Hello! Thank you so much for watching. Once your LO is no longer dealing with day/night confusion, it can definitely be helpful to have your LO nap in a darkened room for naps. I would also recommend playing white noise (especially on the go). Your LO is also at a great age to start a consistent and peaceful nightly routine. I would recommend checking out of starter kit. It is perfect for babies at this age and getting them started on an amazing sleep foundation! My daughter is 2.5 months. She was doing really good going to sleep about 830pm would sleep till around 3-4 am eat and go back to sleep. I was able to put her in her bassinet no problem. We need to switch her to the pack and play which we are struggling with. But within the last week she refuses to be put down while sleeping. She will be sound asleep and I put her down and she is wide awake. Its like this for sleep and Naps. She hates being swaddled hates it. I just don't know what to do we have tried everything she won't even sleep in the bassinet anymore.

My baby is 7.5 weeks and for about a week he is only napping for about 30-45 minutes at a time which I,do understand is normal. Sometimes I try to get him back down for another short nap if he isn't do for a feed and still seems tired but I am not sure if that is counter productive or not. He also has been falling asleep at about 5:30-6:30pm and starting his long night stretches from then, getting 3-4 hour stretches and only waking up for about a half hour or so to feed. So he is essentially "night sleeping" from about 5:30pm until 7 or 8 am. Is this too much night sleep? Is that a thing? 😅
@Babysleepmadesimple
@Babysleepmadesimple Год назад
Hi Haley! What you're describing is very normal for a newborn :) Their night sleep organizes first, then naps develop. At this point, I would just try to make sure he is eating throughout the day and try to get him rest but know that in a few months, you will begin to see naps develop and lengthen. So great that he's doing so well at night, yay!! Ingrid, BSMS Support Team

My boy of 2 months naps like 20-30 minutes ever since 7pm and wakes up again after we lay him down in bed. He's been doing this for almost 13 hours, although he looks really sleepy, he doesn't fall into a deep sleep, so basically, he's been awake for that long. I don't know if this is normal but, as a new Dad, it's troubling me.

Thanks for this, very helpful. Quick question, my little one needs to be held for 20 to 30 minutes before being put back to bed, otherwise he becomes very fussy in bed. He doesn't cry, but he has a poor sleep (i.e. wakes up every 5 minutes) unless I do that. This means however that I get very little sleep. Not sure what to do.... (I tried the pick up/put down method but it doesn't seem to work either).

We don't recommend formal sleep training at 2 months old (if that's how old your baby is), but you can gently try getting them to sleep independently by following the advice in this article: www.babysleepmadesimple.com/how-to-help-2-month-old-baby-sleep-well/ Let me know if your baby is older so I can send you the appropriate article. Hi! don’t know if i’m late and if you’ll answer me. I am a full time college student with a 2 month old. he doesn’t sleep at all at night, i feel like i never got to establish a schedule when he came home since college had literally just started. my little one consistently wakes up at 7am. i feed him and when i go to lay him down on his crib, he starts to cry, then he latches on and falls asleep, I think he may be using me as a pacifer since i only breastfeed and rarely use a bottle with expressed milk. he does this a lot, not to mention he has a hard time burping after feeds. i also have a hard time reading his cues. but he seems to nap okay in the day, sometimes i have to feed him multiple times for him to sleep and we find ourselves with an overtired baby all the time. i don’t know how to introduce a sleep schedule, he just cries everytime i lay him down, but he falls asleep fine in my arms after sucking on me.

Is it fine to not give him feeling in night because this is the only time he sleeps well.. and as he is having sufficient milk till 12 Am at night he can sleep without night feeding he may already consumed sufficient calories.. is it like this..?? The most important thing you can do is to follow sleep cues and awake times and make sure your LO is going down for a nap at the right time. Check out our 2 month old sleep guide for helpful tips! My baby wakes up fussy , crying and need milk ASAP. Otherwise he cries bloody murder. Day and night same thing. He is 10 weeks old . Nap time is long. But no longer than 2 hours. What else can I do

My baby is 2 months old wakes up every 2 hrs at night .. I established a bed time routine I play white noise I am swaddling her and still she doesn't sleep . Her naps are 15 min ... not mentioning that she wants me to rock her to sleep, and she cluster feeds and if I tried to prolonge her feedings she will scream ...even if I am holding her ...I am literally going craaaaazy because now all this lack of sleep gave me insomnia so even if she is asleep I can't sleep...someone save me plllz

@Anna Y I wish but he works 12hr on average and his job is very stressful and tiring , he helps in his days off and with house chores and where he can . Now she is almost 4 months old and she is the same she wakes up every 1:30/2hr at night and her naps are no longer than 40 min 🤷 I am waiting until she is 6 months so I can sleep train her 😣

@@nisha13139 oh thank you ❤️❤️❤️ now she is doing much better on her naps but her nights are crazy . She would wake up every 2-3 hrs in the middle of the night and refuses to go to sleep , I think it has to do with her Rolling over ... I am waiting for her to start solids and I get an OK from her doctor not to feed during the night so that I could sleep train her even though it is heartbreaking to hear her cry 😅😅🤷

We have a 2 month old baby boy. He's been struggling with colics since he was born. We think he got better from that but now he has reflux. We bought him reflux bottles and we got him reflux formula. What are we doing wrong??? He had some good days but most of the time it's bad days. He wakes up from his naps in minutes

So sorry to hear that. I would go to your baby's doctor and ask for advice on what is best to do to make your little comfortable. Clare, BSMS Support Team

Same :( We invested in a few items that helps a lot. But here I am watching this video because he still wakes up quickly and only sleeps long if he's on me. The items we got that helps: Humidifier Exercise ball (I bounce on it with him. It tends to put him in a deeper sleep) A good pacifier (which I remove before putting him down) And definitely swaddle, black out curtains and white noise
