You are by far my most favorite OverLanding Channel on RU-vid. There is no Pretentiousness or Staged/Scripted nonsense. Just Honest and Unique people willing to share their journey with the world. Thank You for being You. That may sound corny or lame but in this world of faked drama and overtly staged accounting you 2 give me hope that there are people out there that are real and honest. I am definitely hooked on your channel and all of your videos. You still have the best self built rig on youtube no doubt about it. When you mentioned the overkill as to your Water filtration system I shook my head. Water is Life, as you well know one can go a month of more without food but Humans can only go for a few days without clean fresh drinking water. I dont think your water system is too overly designed or built. I like it and appreciate it very very much. When you're out in the boonies without any clean sources Im sure it will save you big time. Im sure that you agree with me on this and were probably commenting about how the thought that you cant find clean water in Baja was a misnomer....Take Care now and I look forward to your next video !
Thank so much! And yes, I fully agree, I don't regret our water system, it was cheap and easy... But not at all necessary for Baja if you don't have one...
@@TheTravelingTogetherJournal Hey there I love your channel just as much as the Everlanders. I do miss Jaeger but he continues to live on through you and all of those he touched{such as me}. I guess I relate a little more to the Everlanders as they are closer to my age and seemingly have left it all behind so to speak. You guys have such a long and brilliant future ahead f you. it will be great to see what becomes of you both. You inspire so so many just to go and --- Do It --- lol.....
We SCUBAed throughout Baja since the mid-1960s. The beaches. The quiet. The isolation. More stars than we could count in a hundred lifetimes. Please, return for a couple years instead of a couple months!
Thanks you two...very informative. I've just put together a camper myself, a Hallmark flatbed on an F-350 and now it's time to put all that money I spent to good use. I've flown to La Paz and Cabo a couple times and look forward to a winter long road trip down there myself. I'm poking around gathering info and this hit the spot. Subscribed.
Making the most of El Rancho’s awesome wifi and finally sitting down to watch your videos. Loved reliving Baja through your eyes and seeing the sea lion arch again. We were a bit more cautious, had read the iOverlander comments and camped at the lighthouse and walked down. You guys were brave. Ha ha!
A shout out from Vancouver. Love the views and glad you got your charger/battery problem fixed. The challenge of travelling can be an adventure that has its own rewards. “Story telling around a camp fire “
In 1992 I rode my bike from San Diego Ca, down the 1D to Cabo San-Lucas Mexico, Your trip brought back all those memory's, What a great video. Thank you!
You’re right I’ve been doing Baja since 1985 and I still haven’t seen it all. Glad you got to see some of it and I know the Baja bug will infect you lol.
Great video again. Now we understand why we keep missing each other on the road. Seems like at times life keeps use moving like cats with tails on fire. Isn't this life style supposed to be about slowing down and smelling the rose's? Wendy doesn't know it yet be I have an itch to build another rig. Maybe that will slow us down. I don't think she is going to believe that one. I hear that the sun is beginning to shine in Canada these day's. Be safe live free. Michael and Wendy
I am commenting on google translation. I am looking forward to seeing you from Kobe, Japan. Magnificent scenery and English that two of me are easy to understand! ! I watched from the old video. Sleeping dog face on Instagram! I also live with my dog!
Baja was our first overlanding trip and we fell in love! My wife and I went super simple and slept in the back of our Ford Expedition but we are planning to build something like you have ( we hope). I have been looking but can’t seem to find anything on your camper build ?
Thanks for sharing your experience in Baja. Can we know where is that Sea lion arch beach is please. We would love to check it out next time. Thanks 🙏 Happy Trails
This is the first video of yours I see, I like it. Can you please post the names of the campsites you stayed at? Also, FYI, the reason those military soldiers ask those questions is to ensure your story is straight and are not drug smugglers. If you hesitate to answer those simple questions, it would be a red flag for them. Glad you had a great time. Thank you.
Mexico is bad ass. Very polite they pass by you and tell you buenos dias buenas tardes i buenas noches. They will take their shirt of their backs to give them to you.
Wonderful recap. New subscriber here! Do you have a blog/website? I would like to make similar Baja road trip, your videos are very helpful, I am hoping your blog would help at lot while I am taking notes LOL
I think I was trying to find something that would stop us at that point... Tempting fate. Still haven't used the Maxxtrax, Highlift or Winch. So far airing down these big tires has got us out of everything!
Thank you for sharing your Baja Trip with us. Your drone video really showed me how beautiful the areas you visited are. About how many miles or kilometers did you log once you crossed the border into Mexico?
I've been surfing Baja MX for decades. The Mexican people are probably the warmest, kindest people I've ever been around. Recommendation, spend some time learning the Spanish language. It's not that difficult and you can do it via audio books while in your rig. You don't need to be conversational, but it shows respect and the Mexican people will bend over backwards to help you in any way if you just try to speak their native language.
I couldn't agree more... Kara is very adamant about learning Spanish, she's taken three years of university level Spanish and is actively in Spanish lessons here during our pandemic lockdown. Unfortunately with my workload I can't participate to the same level but I am still absorbing lots from the locals...
glad you had a good trip! How has your mini-split AC been holding up? I am curious about its ability to survive the vibrations and impacts of a vehicle that goes on and off road.
@@Everlanders I am pleasantly surprised / congratulations! It looks like you installed it approx 4 years ago, and have driven over 60k miles. Stay cool!
I enjoy your RV ideas everything's very thought out. Building up to utilize empty space was the most helpful idea. You're probably back by now but for next time you might want to check out the Baja ferry system to the main land down there. I don't know what side of Canada your from but heading back using the ferry that way might be better.
Zero problems finding good Diesel, but we have a 42 gallon tank. I'd heard of others with small tanks unable to make some stretches. Great question that should have been in the video.
We don't have a solid travel plan yet, but we have to get out of the USA - likely head to Vancouver Island, Northern BC and Alberta - Maybe up into the Yukon...
Other People! Go with a few places in mind, scour iOverlander and find a few that meet your criteria, then you'll meet people with like interests who will recommend great places.
I would like to learn more about your trip as i want to do with my family. Do you think Mercedes Sportsmobile Sprinter 4x4 can back up on this hill from sea lion bay ? Thanks
Yes, I would think so... If you have 4x4 you should be fine as long as you have equipment to air down and back up. It really surprised me how effective airing down is.
@@Everlanders perfect . I have been post at Overland boind asking about gas station on similar route . What is I was looking is clean diesel if it's available. Looking at map I might will do only 500-600 miles into Baja as I have to back to work . Thanks
No problems for us... Although we chose the 7.3L because it'll run on almost anything. But I've heard that most fuel in Baja is imported from the USA - so maybe that's why.

@@Everlanders cool Im in Victoria. I wandered over to the DIY area at expo to meet up with the traveling together Journal, but we kept missing each other. I didnt even notice your rig! it was just so overwhelming :D
@@Everlanders Hate to see you go north but Covid was a B____ in the States. Would rather have been in Canada. I saw videos of my birth hospital in Brooklyn, NY where they were storing the deceased in refrigerated trailers . The funeral parlors were jammed and this is all hindsight now, as we supposedly are over the worst, but it was even hell trying to find simple masks to wear. I had to order some from Cambridge Mask in England. Not too inexpensive either. I hope Canada is currently on the downhill side of this pandemic. As I'm sure you feel the same way, it would be safer to be in the remotest of locations to give you some piece of mind. I had the 2 shots in March and so far so good. I hope Saskatoon, your families and both of you are doing well. Gerry
We had no real issues. We read that you need to have a vet signed health check less then 6 days before crossing and of course up to date rabies vaccination. We got the health check, but we were never asked for it. Other than that, have some small needle nose pliers for run-ins with cactus.
I'm a local "neighbor" from Alberta. I'm building a very similar truck, 2001, crew cab, long wheel base though. Did you register your truck in Sask. as an RV? I read that going into Mexico if the vehicle is over 8900 lbs they won't issue you a permit unless its an RV?
Yes, I've heard that this is especially true for box campers, because they are technically cargo and not part of the chassis... Ours is registered as an RV.
It's a test... You're asked seperatly and your answers need to line up... Also the speed at which you answer, if you're stumped for a second they know you're lying.
