The Chinese shop owners can be very rude too and some of the changing rooms are disgusting. You would think they were giving you money and not the other way around. I never buy at a shop that doesn’t display prices on the products.

I've just arrived home went into one of the small shops for a btle of pop it had £2 on went to pay he said 3 I said forget it he then said 2 I just walked out always be alert on the prices they try to make extra from the tourist's

I’m sure a lot off shops rip tourists off however,years ago staying in pelicans hotel in a thunder storm ,my husband went to a Chinese shop close by for beer and Bacardi brezzers ,he ended up a few euro short and Chinese man said to pay tommorrow,went we back next day they were amazed but we had appreciated there faith in us

I managed to get 5ltrs of water for €1.20 and that was the cheapest i found all others were above €1.90, it pays to shop around dont settle for what you find.

I always do my research , compare prices

This is why I always shop at Mercadona, Carrefour or Suoermercados Comsum. Proper legit supermarkets.

On our last visit I went into four of these shops and three out of four tried to short-change me. It's a pity because Benidorm is my favourite place to visit.

Been in many shops if water shows a price I buy. If need food tend to go to supermarket like the bigger one

Best not to use those supermarkets that don't display prices properly -Chinese, Pakistani, etc, etc not racist but their culture is so that they see non believers/non Chinese people as prey! Who said the truth can never offend? just beware.

Late at night we tried to buy a small bottle of gin from an Asian (Indian) shopkeeper. I said to my partner there are no prices on, the shopkeeper said ‘I tell you the price’, I replied no thanks and walked out. Shopping in a store is not meant for haggling. I plan ahead and go to a Spanish supermercado

Wish would seen your channel before got they? Unfortunately me was burning as temperatures was so hot few week ago while they so needed higher cream? Yes pay 25 pound for cream on beach shop next to tikki bar but guess thought stupid say no while at till like lot other would also? There are rarely prices put on the goods in these shops they make it up as they go along go to consum and make sure you get all you need to last you

Went to Benidorm once, good holiday but now they play to many games in the shops we stay away. Holidays are meant to be a good relaxing experience, Spain is now one of the worse rip off places.

Benidorm is boring now after a couple of visits

I noticed the unofficial Apple scammera shops are still there presumably doing their favourite bait and switch sales. If you do need a new iPad or other electronic devices buy at the airport Duty Free never from these shops.

Sometimes in tourist areas I pay with a €20 euro note and receive change like I paid with a € 5 euro note because both are blue , I live in a small town in spain and most people are kind helpful and sociable

Just come back from Benidorm after a week, loved the indoor market, noticed a lot of shops sell fake designer brands like MK, Prada ,Christian Dior etc but got lovely Spanish dress for my granddaughter with fan and hair clip to match 💃

Thanks Anna,it happens all to often only last month i went to a shop on my way back to my hotel and wanted something sweet a kit kat ,he wanted 1,50 so i said no went to another opposite 80 cents there is no need for this

It's called tourist taxes and it happens all over Spain and all spaniards are fully aware of this.

Over charging in Tourist spots always an issue. Big cities are even worse from ice cream to Coca Cola. Speaking the native language in any country will always help I feel Siempre hay alguien que quiere estafarte Well done Ana for making people aware as many people just pay
