When talking about the metaphor with the dog, you might not want to spend money on advertising, but wouldn't it be a good idea to reallocate its advertising money to perhaps research and development? You already have the talent if you are established enough to have a "dog," and that seems like an avenue towards turning it into a star, finding something to make your "dog" unique?

Class participation is 20 percent of your overall grade in most cases, and because of this, it is not a bad form to ask questions bad or good. Get the professor to know your name.
