Aes has been amazing since day one, easily the GOAT! If you want super lyrical and dense Aesop, check the Bazooka Tooth album and everything older than that for extreme lyricism. The None Shall Pass album and everything after seems to play around more with production, is less of a lyrical onslaught but continues with his lyrical gymnastics and supremacy. Check the "LSD verse" on the Greatest Pac-Man Victory in History to see his genius, listen to how he flows so perfectly on Crows 1, Boot Soup or Holy Waterfall or take it back and see how he does diss tracks with the Tugboat Complex pt 1-3! This man is a never ending treasure. Also, Klutz, Rogue Wave, Untouchable and Cat Food are great one-off songs.
True, when I listen to an Aesop track, it always invokes some kind of thought i would have never had myself. Unless I have heard the song previously. At this point I have heard a majority of them and it's always a learning experience, he has layers to him. Peel off the psychobabble and all the woke-minded psilocybin, LSD-induced rhetoric and you will find an mc with the utmost skills and who seeks a normal human exp in this modern era.

Both Aes and Lupe are ridiculous, I caught on to Aes late as well but I have been saying Lupe is the BEST for years. Em is great but he doesn't paint pictures or have extended metaphors to the extent Lupe does, and his content and subject matter is boring. I also think Em forces metaphors and punchlines in songs alot instead of flowing them in more naturally like he used to.
If you like them together give Lice a listen! It's Aes with Homeboy Sandman and they are both on top of their game there. I don't know what's the best song to start with but I've been playing Yoohoo a lot - check it out!

Em has great flow, but he's lyrics never really impressed me all that much. It was better when he was at least funny in the begining of his career.... You should watch Lupe's video on Aesop...
