You can have solid 2 PC stream audio with nothing more than a USB mic. Here are the tools you need to know to set up USB mics, mixers, Voicemeeter, GoXLRs, etc.

This channel has been beyond helpful this past month. I've been trying to figure out the best way to stream mixed drums with 12+ inputs while not really overloading my laptop and creating a massive amount of delay. The routing has been a pain due to the amount of inputs, but thankfully I can avoid it by using my board to mix. However, I'm definitely going to try using something like voicemeter for mixing in my DAW with live playback as well and see how that turns out! I just gotta thank you for the constant tips and advice explained so easily in your videos man, cheers!

Thank you so much for all of your videos. I just got a GoXLR and built a new gaming rig. Streaming has been very rough the past two years, with only one pc. The frustration gets to me when I just can't get things just right so that the pc can handle the game and obs at the same time. Being able to split that stuff now is going to make this so much easier and more enjoyable for everyone. I've been using Voicemeeter and my Turtle Beach Elite Pro T.A.C. mixamp all these years. It's been an amazing tool to have, but I'm happy to finally have a physical mixer to change things. Also, RIP Sam and not muting. lmao

Whoa! Thanks man. I wish I watched this well before I bought my mic let alone my other streaming stuff. I had to go with the mix amp (awaiting delivery) simply because of the investment made on mic (AT2020USB) etc. Also the Aussie dollar makes the GOXLR around $450 where the Astro mix is $220. My 6 followers wont really know the difference. :) The 2 PC setup series has been so helpful, thanks again!!

I'm coming to this video a bit late looking for a nifty solution to take the audio from a 4k60 pro capture card and routing it to one of the Wave Link software's inputs, but I found this to be a super well done explanation of some solid audio setup options for anyone looking for a guide. For now I'm setting the OBS Audio Monitoring for the capture card to route to the Wave Link Game input that way I can alter the levels for me (all my audio is being done on the streaming PC) vs the stream.

When I've been planning to build a dedicated stream PC I've thought that I would buy some fancy Yamaha mixer, but when it came to reality I was really on the budget. I've searched the web for ideal way to connect audio from both PC's how I need it. And one thing that had saved me is VBAN of Voicemeteer, it's kinda complicated but it totally worth it, I've learnt how it works and set it up in a few days, then just simply made a backup settings and done with it. Almost a year have passed and only a couple time I've been having problems with sound. Now I'm wondering to move on GoXLR mini and a new mic. Thank you, Harris, for making such a great content, you're the only guy I watch constantly on RU-vid and always get that motivational vibes from you last year. I'm kinda late on your schedule due to my work, but I just don't skip videos 😏

You can also send alerts through your mixer over channels 7 and 8 if you have a dedicated mixer, by sending the alerts to monitor only, then into a USB sound card. The USB sound card is then sent to channels 7 and 8 on the mixer (this way you can hear your own alerts as well).

For a 2 pc setup with the GoXLR, it's worth noting if you also want multitrack audio recording (e.g. in OBS) for post production editing, you are much better off connecting the GoXLR directly to the streaming PC via USB (and not the gaming PC as per this video) and using the line out and line in with the gaming PC (to send the mic audio and recieve the game audio). With Discord on your streaming PC, you will also be able to record your friends chat onto a different audio track. If you want an easy push to mute option in Discord, get yourself a $10 USB foot pedal you can wire to the streaming PC. Job done.

Hi I got a audio interface and a mic on gaming pc will my audio go to streaming pc if I get go xlr with elgato?
@jdaoust47
@jdaoust47 Год назад
This is exactly the way I went about it. Except instead of my line out going back to my gaming pc, I instead use the line out as a second audio source to my stream pc. Broadcast stream mix and line out to the streaming pc. Music and discord are also on my streaming pc. This way I can leave my music off on the line out for post production (most of my music is twitch safe but not youtube safe). I do not need any audio going to my gaming pc except the headset line out. I use the goxlr headset line out to the line in on the gaming pc and use my headset and headset mic for in game chat while my main xlr mic is going to my stream pc. On the gaming pc in the sound settings you can select the line in and check listen to audio. Now you are listening to all of the goxlr sounds on the gaming pc. Hope this makes sense!

I recently just did a complex setup for my dual pc setup. I have 4 audio source coming from my main pc and going to my streaming pc - a mic, webcam audio, pc audio and elgato audio. This makes it easier to adjust the sound for my stream but also when I go to edit my videos (I record and stream) it makes it easier to change/edit each track to my liking instead being stuck with what I got. Thank god for NDI having a dedicated output filter for video and especially audio. The only part that sucked was syncing audio for my webcam with my mic and syncing my webcam/mic with my elgato for my stream

My MG12XU has been such a work horse for me. Started off with two AT2035's for my brother and I, then upgraded to my personal MKH50. I would personally pick up a RodeCaster Pro for a new audio interface. Only reason I wouldn't get a GoXLR is it only has 1 XLR input.

When I tweak my audio, I find it best to EXPLAIN it to myself in a test stream with the stream delay on like 10 secs lol. I get to hear what it sounds like and if levels are correct and hear my past self explain his problem so I cannot try to fix it lol. I usually do this when I need to change where sound is going. And I have a UM2 Interface and had to change it to 2 channel so game and voice were left and right. And send that to OBS on 2 inputs and separate the left and right and down mix each to mono so I can control each individually. I am getting a GoXLR mini when it comes out lol.

I think if you have an USB mic, you could just have "listen" checked on 1 of your PC and a 3.5mm male to male audio cord routed to your other one. However if you do want to hear yourself I'm not sure if a simple splitter is going to work. Other sound like gaming audio and discord could just go through your HDMI or DP via capture card

I personally don't enjoy using the voicemeter output for game audio for my headphones like in the second setup. I used to use this before but there tends to be some minor latency that does effect the whole experience of playing fps which are games that I play for streams. Just tossing it out there so that maybe there's a better way of setting it up. I personally use a setup similar to the second one but I plug my headphones into my gaming computer and use the audio jack on the mic to plug into my streaming computer as a mic input. I also use a speaker output from my main computer and plug it into my line in on my streaming computer as to introduce less latency for gaming audio. I'd like to hear you opinion on this harris, and if it is a good way of setting it up.

Would you not be better connecting your GoXLR/Mini to your stream PC? That way you wont need to worry about unbalanced signals being sent to your stream. You can send your digital audio from your gaming pc (most MOBOs have a digital output). This would also allow you to switch the digital input to a console too if needed without complicated routing options.

Well you don't have to complicate it that much in Voicemeeter. You can just use one of the two virtual inputs for your system sound. Then output that sound to your streaming PC, or separate it. What I do is: 1. Use Voicemeeter Aux virtual input as my system sound. 2. Use Voicemeeter Vaio virtual input as my game + discord sound. This way I separate the game from the system so I don't get various Windows alerts sent to my streaming PC and thus into my stream. 3. You can use "Virtual audio cable" input + output for music. This way you have three separate audio streams that you can control directly from your gaming PC. So you can basically achieve the same thing as with a Go Xlr. At least until you can get a Go Xlr. If you let's say want to split your game and discord/chat too, you can always use Voicemeeter Potato which provides 3 virtual inputs. So, 3 virtual inputs + virtual audio cable and you can have the same sound separation as you would with a Go Xlr. Happy streaming everyone :)

I play PUBG religiously and need my "Loudness equalization" under the windows sound option. Is there something similar when right clicking the "Headset" on the GoXLR? If not any idea how I could route the sounds back to my PC headphones so I can use the windows default Loudness EQ? Preferably without VoiceMeeter, LOL.

Would you have to use a line in port on the stream PC to get the audio from stream port on mixamp? Elgato external capture cards feature an Aux port on them for analog audio however it doesn't look like the 4K60 Pro Mk. 2 does. This is my first foray into a Dual PC gaming & streaming set up so I want to get set up right the first time. I have the Shure MV7 microphone so it can be used as both an XLR & USB mic & already own the Astro A40TR + Mixamp Pro (console combo) . I don't have the funds for the Go XLR right now as I just purchased my 2 computers + 1440P 240Hz monitor and the less expensive Mini is out of stock, but I'm definitely interested in the method you mentioned using the MixAmp Pro as my audio controller. All of your content has been a blessing BTW!! I've learned so much over the past month in preparation to take on this new venture. Appreciate you!!

I don’t know if anybody has asked this question yet... So part of my dual PC is having a channel in my mixer for all my consoles. These consoles are connected through an HDMI switcher that goes into an HDMI splitter with audio extractor. From the splitter I send video signal to my monitor and capture card, all I have to do is select the switcher channel from the console I am going to play and viola I have video in OBS and audio in my mixer for that console. So the mixer has audio for my gaming pc, audio for all my consoles and audio for my streaming PC. Now does GOXLR has an input that I could use for all my splitter audio source?

Question: I have an old M-Audio Fast Track C400 DAC which I used to use for recording analog instruments or would plug my guitar directly in and use software based effects in ProTools or Mixcraft. Virtual Effects basically. Fast forward a few years. Now I am getting into streaming, and I am planning a variety stream involving playing guitar to backing tracks, maybe playing guitar and playing Elite Dangerous at the same time, and doing really stupid things with Tannerite outside (haven't figured out how this will work from a technical pov, or if Twitch TOS will have an issue with it, back burner on that last one). Okay, so get to the question: Can I use the C400 to route/control/fade audio with a dual PC streaming setup (NDI). If you are interested in looking into this, the manual for this audio is easily found on google. Full disclosure: I have not tried this device on Windows 10 Pro yet, and not even sure if I will be able to find a driver or if MS provides one.

Question do you know how to have 2 PC's go to a ?Mixer? ?GoXLR? and output to a set of headphones so you can listen to both PC's at the same time? and then be able to adjust the volume on each PC? and lastly be able to switch out put from headphones to external speakers?

Hey Harris! Does the usb on the go xlr mini need to be connected to the gaming pc? I stream with a laptop. I have a line in and out on my gaming pc but not on my stream laptop. Hoping I can hook the streaming pc via usb and the gaming pc via line in and outs

I have a desktop gaming pc and a laptop streaming pc. the laptop only has one headphone/mic combo jack. I have my headset plugged in to that jack and I made it to where the game audio is coming through the headset and to the stream. My voice is picked up, but its a lot fainter than what I would like it to be. So im here looking for a better setup.

Hey man I just saw something and thought you'd might want to make a video on it ....OBS now allows you to pause when you're recording but you have to have some custom settings

This used to drive me crazy when I first was trying to figure out until I just got a headset with an optic and usb cables, my optic cable goes to my gaming pc and the usb to the streaming one. If I could only get my wireless headset to work :(

18:00 with the mixer section had to re watch several time but i got it however i use voicemeter for my mic to add more base and sound to my voice instead if raw but since im sensinf my mic and twitch sounds to my gaming pc i think i can still use the filter for my voice since the sounds wont change? I might have to give it a try if not then i assume i have to get a condenser

So I kind of have a problem with talking over my buddy's streams while I'm streaming. My name is also Sam. At about 4:30 when you said Sam my blood ran cold for a second, haha. That was pretty wild.

I was wondering, if using the go xlr or any mixamp for that matter, will i not be able to use my soundblaster x g6 for game audio anymore? I really love that thing!

Harris, thanks for the video, even as old (3 years) as it may be. I don have some questions though. If anyone can answer I would appreciate it. --- I want to set up a dual PC stream. Using a capture card on the stream PC. My current setup is a USB Mic - Elgato Wave 3, USB Headphones Arctis Nova Pro (wired). ------ Once I output my audio to the HDMI cable going out of my gaming PC, I no longer have sound going directly into my headphones. I want to keep using my headphones on my gaming PC, because I don't want to switch over all the time when I want to game off stream. -- I'm wondering what software or mix I should do (or can I do it) on my gaming pc to send audio both to my headphones normally (The Nova's have a spatial sound/surround sound feature that I use) and to the HDMI cable so the streaming PC has audio. ---- For the Mic I was going to use the headphone jack on the mic to the mic jack on the streaming PC and filter my mic sound there. ---- I do have access to both the elgato mixing software and the Arctis mixing software. I do not want to buy a GoXLR Mini without having an XLR mic. ---- Do any guru's here know the method to this madness? I plan to run Discord and Spotify on the gaming PC. My alternative is to plug everything into the streaming PC and hook up my headphones to it, I'm just not sure that is the right solution. I may want to game and not have the streaming PC on. Thanks ahead of time for any help.
