I just love how Tim breaks scripture down. I have prayed this prayer and other prayer in Ephesians 3. This whole message was profound( for myself anyway) . The evil principalities and powers have influenced our society and personal lives so horribly!!! I know this evil has influenced me so many times!! Exploiting my weaknesses for sure!!! Blessings to all!

i love the way he explains praying through times of struggle and trials "you're on a journey, and this is an opportunity for you to lean into Jesus in a new way that you have never had to trust Jesus before".. (this becomes a moment of growth).. this is a really encouraging and uplifting way of thinking- throughout every challenge you face in life.

After you've walked with God for a little while, you'll see that he designs personal trials and difficulties for every believer in order to strengthen them in faith. And it WILL be rewarded in this life and in the next. Someone who has been through a LOT with the Lord (think of the Apostle Paul) has developed a strong faith and set of spiritual eyes that see 100%. Those are the people you want to hang out with. Those are the people you know who seem unmovable in their faith. They are hardly afraid of anything anymore, because they understand spiritually. Those are the people you want to hang out with.

Thank you for this message Tim. I've been a Christian a long time, but recently my spiritual life has changed drastically. Going through trauma recovery, I have learned to be in touch with my body and to be able to observe my mind. My mind has been conditioned through trauma and other influences to be very selfish and self-absorbed. It seems most if not all of us have in my experience. Like Paul said "The things I want to do I don't do, and the things I do not want, those are the things I do." We are conditioned by society and trauma to do the things we do not want to do. It is a sort of survival mechanism. I was explaining this to my brother, and he asked me: Don't you believe that Satan is real? I said, sure, maybe. I've never seen him. He has never appeared to me or spoken to me. But my mind speaks to me all the time, and it isn't always good, the suggestions my mind is making. Like Christ being tempted. I could see the mind asking Christ those questions. I'm not trying to change what the book says, just seeing that my mind asks me similar questions all the time. Maybe that is Satan's influence. Anyway, I recently found a passage in Ephesians: "And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience- among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the MIND, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind." That part about the body and the mind just jumped out at me. I had what I have to call a miraculous spiritual experience a couple of years ago, where I felt the presence of Christ with me personally, lifting me up out of my pain and suffering and making himself known to me. He made me know with certainty that He was there with me. My fear of death fell away in that moment. I knew what it was to be born again in that moment. I knew what it was to be alive in the spirit, to know my spiritual self (apart from the flesh and the mind) in that moment. And I knew that connection with Him is my true life (being seated with Him now in heavenly places as Ephesians teaches us). Now I see the mind as a tool, not as my true self. It can lead me to sit with Christ, or it can drag me through the gutter. My choice is to know my spiritual self and live there with Christ. This is denying the flesh and the mind as I understand it. It is amazing how earthly perspectives change when we live like this. And we all have the choice and the ability to live in the spirit. But it can be challenging when the conditioned mind keeps whispering fear into our ears.... Pride and fear.... Pride especially destroys our ability to be connected with God. We will suffer until all pride is removed. And this is a gift God gives.

@@Jesus_Reigns383 Thank you so much! It is by grace. Since I posted this I found another passage in Ephesians relating to the experience. ".... the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, 18having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you... " The gift of enlightened knowledge of him, which is above and beyond faith, the maturing or completion of the spirit. And this is certainly his grace. Paul knows of this and is hoping for and encouraging the saints in this way.

@@markbrock8662 For some reason… Ephesians has been a treasure trove for me lately. The scripture you shared is especially beautiful because of being a prayer that Paul is praying for them. @markbrock8662

@@Jesus_Reigns383 Yes, I believe it is the holy spirit. Ephesians is my go to as well this year. My other favorite is Gospel of John. It is very spiritual as well. The theme I have become aware of is that Christ was leading us into the life of the spirit (born again of the spirit) and Paul knew and taught this very thing. In John Christ said "God is spirit, and those who worship must worship in spirit and in truth."

I firmly believe that the same kinds of dark powers are at work in things like addiction and even mental ilnesses. There is a reason many people with mental ilnesses end up commiting suicide (I do not in any way intend to sound disrespectful or rude, and I think it's horrible and super sad when this happens to people..) I can only speak for myself, but I myself was saved by God from an eating disorder, and right after I became a christian,I already realized that this was the devil's work. I mean, honestly, isn't it strange how all girls dealing with anorexia or boulimia talk about the same experience of this dark, mean voice? telling them they are worthless and need to stop eating, and making them feel utterly horrible for being alive. There's a reason so many girls (and boys as well) die of this disease. I'm convinced that it would have killed me if Jesus never saved me, but thank God he did ❤ It wasn't until I realize this disorder wanted me dead, that I was able to take the first steps to healing. And I will never ever claim that I did this on my own. Jesus saved me, all the way through ❤ And yes, I still am made insecure by these beings sometimes, but it's different now because now I KNOW the truth; I was made perfect by God to be his image, and these voices want me dead, but they have no influence on me anymore I very much hope that I can one day, thanks to my Lord and savior Jesus, even help others who deal with this, and I do pray for those who still struggle with this horrible eating disorder, and of course for others dealing with mental illnesses

Love in the Bible is not primarily an emotion, it's a commitment to action. In our culture it is something that happens to us. You fall in love, which causes real problems when you fall out of love. Love is a commitment to act for the well being of another person ahead of my own well being. Love is the mark of a follower of Jesus. If you give your allegiance to Lord Jesus who loved you, gave up His life for you, Jesus' followers are marked as people who do this for others. God bless Tim Mackie for spreading the love and teachings of God and Jesus

Tim, I love you and you're right about a collective responsibility we all share. However, Paul talks about powers and principalities, spiritual wickedness IN HIGH PLACES ( plz forgive capitals). Most people sheepeshly follow media, arts and culture. When you read globalist thinkers like Carroll Quigley or Jacques Attali, or study movements like the Frankfurt School and Cultural Marxism, the sexualization of society and cultural debauchery was a slow, insidious and deliberate orchestration from the top down. That being said, we're still responsible for our actions but we were formed in a ubiquitous sesspit of glorified sin. Thank you for teaching and God Bless you and everyone, in Jesus' Name. 💒

I had this video pop up on RU-vid for me a while ago. I put it aside to watch/listen to later, but forgot about it. I saved it because I saw the title 'Pray for Power', and for years I've been desperate for Him to help in a big way. I'm probably what humans identify as autistic. I don't seem to share the same view point as the average person the Bible appears to be speaking to, the proud egocentric (if that's the right term) person trying to place themselves above everyone else around them, or even just in their own lives. The development of acts in society to demote others just doesn't make sense to me, things like the backhanded slap mentioned in the 'Sermon on the Mount' with the symbolism behind it of saying you're worth more than them. how does that sort of thing develop in the widely recognised act it was back then? Anyway, I've been very self-deprecating all my life, feeling like I fall short of much higher standards I hold myself to compared to others, so verses about humbling yourself sometimes reinforced feelings of worthlessness. Other traits of what society identifies as autistic is the intense interests that could appear to well meaning neurotypical Christians as 'excessive' and are described as 'obsessive' in the various things that try to define 'autism'. This different perspective means that I've prayed for years for communities to be built up around those interests. I questioned the piece about the rich man coming to Jesus and Jesus' command for him to sell everything he had. Why couldn't he have used the resources he had to establish a community like I would if I had the resources? The most recent version is 'The Rescue & Restoration Way', something that would take our small family farm and a few abandoned neighbouring properties and establish a preservation farm (similar to preservation railways here in the UK, preserving and restoring classic farm equipment, etc but going a step further and continuing to operate the farm with them), while also being a place for neurodivergent people to come to to be respected for who they are rather than looked down upon by a society that doesn't want different-acting people within it (as is too often the experience of many neurodivergent people, autistic and otherwise). It would also be a place for rescuing animals, from cats and dogs to donkeys, sheep, etc. Maybe the title of it is a hint to this, but it would be a Christian community aimed to reunite Christians as the single group of people frequently pointed to in the Bible following 'The Way' as Jesus was identified prior to the development of the 'Christian' title. Being a farm, it would hopefully be easy to isolate it from any specific denomination, but in taking a hint from the neurodivergent communities' approach to catering to the wide variety of needs every individual has, we'd have 'Christian accommodations' for each denomination's choices of literature, etc, rotating shelving in various rooms for presenting them with what they are used to and covering anything that they wouldn't, etc, (being in Northern Ireland, denominational differences, even if only being applied politically, have a history of 'significant dispute'), just like how neurodivergent people can have accommodations in a workplace or similar of ear protection for noise sensitivity, etc. The farm could hopefully also be a way into learning about Jesus in a more neurodivergent friendly way too. Many neurodivergent people can feel put off by overly social church gatherings, loud echoing buildings, etc, and many elements of the Bible when it might not be speaking literally or similar can be more difficult to follow or be mis-understood. Something I struggled with in school was when a teacher addressed the class in a seemingly aggressive way relating to work that needed done or similar. I had it explained that their tone etc was to get through to a few specific more difficult students, not at me, but that never stopped me panicking over it every time the 'class' was addressed like that. As a result, something not addressing me specifically as I read it can cause doubt, like reading a proverb about wicked people, acting selfishly, etc when I feel I've been trying my best. Or hearing those verses I will sooner question 'am I not doing good enough' rather than see it as this style of getting through to the 'thicker skulled' people, and that can be damaging, so others like me would benefit from a place that can offer that clarification. I'm back at this video now because I opened the latest Bible Project Podcast video on 'Treasure in Heaven' and on moving the tab to the side to listen to it while watching a video of a classic farm machinery working day I found this tab again. Both that and the first 15 minutes of this video (where I've paused) caused strong feelings that I've actually been committed to the right idea for all this time. I've been doubting it because so long has passed with seemingly little to no progress, and to make this idea for a community work would take millions of pounds I don't have, but God is all powerful, so if it's His will, it could cost trillions and it will still happen. I'm confused as to what is expected. I keep bouncing between moments of optimism when things seem to fall in line, then time passes with nothing happening or something getting worse/threatening to deteriorate rapidly at any moment, then back to moments like this where the Bible talks about establishing, as described here, 'fairy-tale' communities like the one I dream of where we can all work together, body-doubling the difficult tasks, integrating our various special interests into the rest wherever possible for a win-win environment. I'm powerless to make any steps myself for various reasons, but I've tried to reach out to a minister about it, first for guidance on how to cope in the current overwhelming circumstances, then the 'The Rescue & Restoration Way' idea, but God's will was to send him to Poland that week, and I still have noone to communicate with as he's now doing a walk in England, then is off on holiday and sabbatical for a month and a half. Meanwhile circumstances keep piling up that 'TRRW' would solve, significantly help with, prevent, etc.

@Markwright 3161: I have added you to my prayers. Your story really made me ponder on the project( for several years) I have wanted to create a “ Safe Haven” community( in a farm type setting: gardens, animals and Christ centered) - for children and anyone who is in need of a safe haven based on their past experiences that they may have suffered. ( I had even given up praying on it) I don’t have eloquent words as u did to explain this concept. ( that is a compliment) I had begun to give up on this idea as I do not have the means to do this. After reading your comment that fire inside to accomplish this has been reignited as I KNOW YHWH can make the impossible possible. In the past I have always helped the less fortunate-mentally disabled and dying elderly- not saying this to boast just has been ( I believe a calling on my life from YHWH)So THANK YOU !I truly will pray for you Mark Wright , your project( and ur family) continually. I hope u will do the same for me , my ( project still just a dream- idea) and my family.)Blessings and much love to u.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

24:25 Tim says three things and puts up two fingers. He did that twice. Wondering what his mind was doing there.

I’m trying hard not to build as “personality cult” around Pastor Tim Mackie, but it IS a temptation. I’m sure Pastor Tim would be horrified at the very thought of it, but I have to admit I have never had a Bible teacher who made the Bible so clear to me, or so relevant to my life, as Pastor Tim Mackie. Never!

The sadder thing is that sexual revolution gave way to rampant abortion and so on and so forth.

Hey Tim, long time first time. You don't really believe that we invented more std's, do you? Like, they were always there but our culture and science had progressed to the point where we can identify them. It's a small point, and I know you know this, but I think it's important to have said that the sexual revolution, whatever the results of it are these days, new diseases are not part of that. It's like autism. Everyone asks why there are so many more people being born these days with autism, but that's not what's happening. We can just identify it and we know that it's a whole spectrum, not just a yes/no question. We've advanced to that point, not fallen to it.

Love your sermons, but Ephesians says nothing about a triune God. Nor does the rest of the Bible.
