It started out that PSA had decent uppers until you got to barrel alignment and the gas tube on one. Then it just went downhill for the PSA uppers. Interesting enough, on the same day this video was uploaded, another RU-vidr named FocusTripp did a live stream that PSA terminated his account for his PSA JAKL review. The upper had out of spec picatinny rails off by .004 and he couldn't mount scope rings or optics to it because of that.

Three of my H&R rifles from PSA came clocked. Two of them so bad I ran out of windage. I checked for alignment of the feed ramps and they were good. When I checked the sight alignment, you could see how off the front sight was. I sent the M16A2 back for repair. When it came back, the front sight was aligned but the feed ramps were out of alignment. What’s your guess what they did? I’d bet you money they did the old Bushmaster trick of beating on the front sight with a heavy mallet rotating the barrel extension inside the upper.

I bought two economy PSA AR15 uppers, and one had a sticky bolt, but it started working 100 pct with some brake in and worked fine with diff bolts. I don't know why, but after breaking in, testing my bolt travel, the sticking went away. I did not run checks or trouble shoot, but when it started working and cycling, I called it good and fired hundreds of rounds with zero probs. Same for all my cheap AR's. PSA, DPMS, and Anderson Rifles. I thought PSA uppers and lowers were a good value and worked without any malfunctions, even with diff manufacturer bolts; lots of diff mags/ammo. I had no complaints for cheap gun that doesn't get used hard nor go to war. Happy PSA customer.

@volkskrieg8735 26 дней назад
@@pootinhammer this is going to be a long reply lol. So I started out with the 24" Hunter model. I took it out with 400 rounds of Hornady 150 grain steel case (they don't make it anymore) I tuned the gas system per the owners manual. Found the click number that barely got the bolt to lock back on an empty mad and gave it 3 more clicks. I ran only that ammo and everything ran great. By about the 900-1000 round mark I started having problems with it dropping empty casings in the chamber instead of lifting them up and into the ejection shoot.
@volkskrieg8735
@volkskrieg8735 26 дней назад
@@pootinhammer so I decided to re time the gas system since it was acting over gassed. Once again everything worked great, for a while. I ran out of the Hornady stuff and switched to pmc bronze. So again I returned the gas system but I could no longer get a full magazine to run reliable so I took a look and found a crack in the weld that holds the recoil spring assembly to the top cover. I sent it into kelt t ch and they fixed it and I had them swap the 24" barrel out for an 18". Once again after about 500 rounds same crack in the weld happened again. I had kel tec fix it and then I pawned it.

@@pootinhammer they eat steel just fine as long as the gas system is tuned to the ammo. That was.kinda the big frustration for me was I knew I could just slam whatever ammo into it. Even brass case has so much variability that u can't really expect reliability when swapping from m80 ball to 168 grain hornady to 150 grain federal.

"Passed one check so far..." Nah, its passed two, since the carry handle fit down upon the 1913 rail, which for PSA is not a given 😅 Love your videos, always see lots I'm not familiar with; always feel like I pick up a little piece of knowledge.

Bought the PA10 in .308. Did a disassembly to clean it before firing it. Inside the cover of the ejector was an extra spring . Was not the same as the ejector spring. Annoyed at that. Excellent video from someone who knows what he is doing.

James on TFB intentionally put a .300 BO in a 5.56 CZ Bren 2, and it cleared the barrel. We have a cat just like Rebel.

If you have the tools to strip it down and inspect it you can feel confident that everything is right. That goes for basically every budget ar15. Smith, Ruger, PSA, Radical and several others are turning them out as fast as they can. Assembly mistakes are inevitable.

@@brandonrupp5880 I agree but the gauges he has are so expensive and if you own all of that stuff you're probably in a state where you can just buy a trustworthy rifle anyway

So with the pin being aligned correctly, the excessive torque and lacking support on assembly misaligned it?

I bet some of these over torqued nuts are like that to compensate for a not true barrel or other parts of the assembly
