Thank you for watching our ear wax removal video today. The ear wax extraction featured in todays video was carried out using endoscopic microsuction. This procedure uses a small camera called an endoscope to visualise inside the ear canal whilst a small suction tube is inserted to gently remove ear wax.
All the ear wax cleaning videos you see on our channel are carried out by our ear wax specialists Mr Rhys Barber and Mr Taylor Green.

Ear wax plays a vital role in ear health. It helps to prevent ear infection and helps with ear cleaning by picking up any dirt or debris that accumulates in the ear canal. Normally this ear wax would fall out of the ear taking any dirt or debris with it.
How to remove ear wax?
Many people use q-tips/cotton buds for ear wax removal at home this is one of the worst things you can put into the ear as this can lead to an increased ear wax buildup or in extreme cases impacted ear wax. The best way to remove ear wax is to let your ears clean themselves and not to put anything smaller than your elbow in your ears!
How do I know if I have an earwax blockage?
If you experience a change in your hearing, discomfort in the ear or jaw or a feeling of fullness in the ear canal you may have an ear wax blockage. Our advice is to speak to your Doctor or local Audiologist who can take a look in your ears and assess whether ear cleaning is needed.

So funny you talk about that at the end with middle ear infection. Because of you guys i didn’t freak out when I had one a couple of weeks ago. I had the flu pretty bad and got an ear/sinus infection and at one point my ears would not pop. I held my nose and blew trying to make them and heard the air bubble into my ear and omg. I’ve never heard anything like it before. But if I hadn’t been watching your channel for so long I would have panicked. Now I know that it can happen so easily with a cold and after two days they came right! Saved me a heap of stress and money at the docs haha. I wonder if she'd put oil in her ear and a ball of cotton wool to hold it in place? That's what my mum did when we were young, and I have to admit, that's what I did when my sons were young. But. I'd make to sure look for the cotton wool ball in the morning where it had fallen out onto the bed (because it wasn't pushed in, it was lying on top of the ear to stop the oil running down their neck as they fidgeted). Or remove it from the pinna.

Great video as always, thank you for sharing! 🙏🏽 I'm curious what the best alternative to Q-tips would be? I've been using them since childhood, and especially after a shower, the wax is loose and readily coats the cotton bud. There's not usually a lot of it, just enough to "color" the bud, occasionally there's a thicker chunk but it's rare. How else could I achieve the same results of clearing out my ears?
@sa.moss4410

Unless you overproduce ear wax or something you should only need to wipe the outside of your ear with a warm wet washcloth to clean off any ear wax that your ear has pushed out to the outer ear. Your ear cleans itself in cycles and pushes stuff out. If that doesnt work, however, you should put a few drops of olive oil in your ear and then lie down for a few minutes with the ear facing up so it goes into your ear. Then get a cotton ball or washcloth, put it against your ear, and lie down with the ear facing down so that the oil drains out. If that doesn't work, you're in see-a-doctor territory. Generally, unless there is something wrong, the itching and discomfort will go away after you stop using qtips for a while, and your ears will clean themselves naturally, and all you have to do is clean the outer ear.

They are acting like it’s so absurd someone would use a qtip in their inner ear. Why? If you are 35 and older, it’s likely your parents taught you to use it to either soak up water or remove ear wax. Then because they cause irritation in the ear it causes massive amounts of itching that could drive even the toughest person insane- how do you itch it- with a qtip. So, maybe doctors should tell parents how to properly clean ears, and other patients how to itch the inner ear safely or fix the itching instead of looking in the ear- saying it looks fine and sending them home where the itching forces them to use more qtips.

People just don’t learn. Don’t put Q-tips in your ears!!! Great videos!💜💜

6:13 since we shouldn’t use q-tips is there anything I can do when it feels like the inside of my ears is itchy and I’d usually use q-tips to clean and “itch”?

Love your videos! I have noticed the camera always seems "foggy." Have yall considered ways of making the footage clearer? Or upgrading the camera? My eyes always want more 😂😂

I just recently had a quip tip stuck in my ear and I wasn’t aware. The nurse practitioner at urgent care said I had an infection and prescribed antibiotics, nose spray and something for allergies. 🤦🏼‍♀️

What do you use then to get the wax out of your ears if we can’t use Q-tips I am devastated by this stuff that you just pulled out of these years wow

They have little devices that are rubber that you can clean your ears with I think it’s called Clinere

I have always had ‘wet” earwax. Literally drippy/. So q-tips are the only way to relieve the tickle

Wow... held my breath as you reached near the eardrum to pul out wax wedged between drym and wall ... GOOD WORK ! I only use a q-tip to clean the inner surface walls .. never go down with it... i can always feel the wax melting on the edges. So as long there is mobment of ear trying to drain our water or wax, then thats a good sign. So never push q-tip deep down.

We can’t stop using them because they are the only thing that works when the inner ear is itchy. I’ve had a cotton bud stuck for well over a year and right now I’m going to use a cotton bud because it’s so itchy!!

How deep is the ear drum, they seem to go really deep. I’d love to get a deep cleaning see if my hearing improves a bit but I’m scared they’d bust my ear drum.

My gf constantly has ear-wushing. Doctors are claiming it's because of high blood pressure. Others think it's an ear infection. Should i propose to have her ears checked for wax build-up?
