People still say that lol? My goodness...it's not what you use...if your mind is funky and understands how to make good beats...you can use anything. FL is a tool, it's easy to make cheesy stuff but good music requires skill and it starts in the mind
Those people are complete imbeciles I swear. My approach wouldn’t change regardless of the saw. My sound would still be the same. They act like they can tell by listening if your using fl or not. It’s asinine.

When pitching a kick down, you defintely need to replace a bit of transient with processing. The slower waveform will lose punch. Also layering it with a transient heavy short kick works great.
Making proper authentic sounding boombap drums is harder then most people know even just using a loop u gotta know how to eq filter compress and satarate it or it wont sound right... some nice tips will definitely keep them in mind
Im on the verge of giving up. I cant come up with drum patterns that are similar to my favorite lofi artists. Majority of my beat patterns sound too generic overall and im not happy with it anymore. Im thinking about throwing in the towel im just not as good as the others plus i have a hard time finding hard hitting samples

I have the m-audio oxygen49…. Does the job…. Nothing too stand out about it…. No real problems either…haves enough knobs, faders & pads for me to assign too & handle my handle…. I grabbed this particularly because I knew & trusted the brand plus it was quite inexpensive….
