We're going to try to grow it on Joshua Zieba channel in the cold in Michigan. Plan is to start inside and move them outside.. The results with your method and location are amazing!
@@KittyCapPro hello there. Sir do you provide consultancy services for Ginger cultivation at commercial sized Hydroponics Projects? How can I contact you?
Thanks for great video. I am from South Africa and would like to know how many and how big the holes must be for the stretcher on top need to be for the roots? If the plant is 12 inches apart and have 12 inch square to grow the Rhizome, then how many holes and size of holes will I require in the 12 inch square for the roots to pass through to reach the water? Second question. Can I use Polystyrene peanuts and or 13 mm stones as growing medium?
Between 1:39 and 2:14 which is after placing the seeds (rhizome) in the pot where it says it grows to about 12 inches, do you water them? Secondly, what are the ingredients for the grow-medium mixture? Great educational video. I am going to do this on my lot in Indonesia.
Yes, they are watered as needed. Growing medium for the roll-out beds is found in this article www.ctahr.hawaii.edu/hawaii/downloads/Portable_Grow_beds_with_roll-out_Plastic_tanks.pdf
Hi mem ,can you please give A to z details of method in written from pre-planting to until harvest ,like how to sow ,what kind nutrient to be used ,what kind of precaution to be taken during whole process.because i want try on one acre farm, full with long tray as you shown,i calculated i can put appro 6000 trays in one acre area,so in sort i want to do this on commercial scale in india.can you please give me detail? Thanks in advanced.
I hope this question gets a reply. I am interested in this also. I want to know if the growth medium were hydroton instead of soil would it work. The downsides I can see is that hydroton won't wick water as well as hydroton with the water source being so low, but what if the hydroton were submerged in the nutrient solution just until the water is a few inches below the ginger? I've see the ginger grow roots down into moist hydroton searching for water. So I wonder if the hydroton were deep enough, if it would grow tubers into it and drink up the solution as the roots dive down into the nutrient solution creating new air space as it grows? I guess if no one answers I'll just have to try it myself! Edit to Add: Also, since I don't have a university at my back, I only have some 5 gallon buckets and recycled plant pots I stole from Lowes (jk!) so I won't be using flow tubes and float valves and stuff as I don't have it. I'm just gonna put it into a bucket of solution, suspended in hydroton and a net and see what happens.
@@steveraman4562 Yeah, man! Totally. Just go to the Garden section outside and they have this whole huge shelf full of empty planting pots and they say " please take some and if you have some at home, bring them back instead of trashing them." It's the ultimate community recycling idea! Edit to add: Oh yeah, the ginger project failed cuz when it rained the bucket kept flooding. I think I'd have to do this beneath a canopy or something that lets in sun but keeps out rain.
Stock solution tank A contained 1 lb Hydro-gardens Chem-Gro 8-15-36 (this formula includes micronutrients) + 0.6 lb magnesium sulfate per gallon of stock fertilizer solution. Stock solution B contained 1 lb solution grade calcium nitrate per gallon of stock fertilizer solution. Stock solutions A and B were added to the growing tank reservoir in a 1:1 ratio at such a rate to achieve the target EC.
