Ok, but what's the actual purpose of getting that exact ratio? I'm not countering - just being curious, as honestly to this point I thought grey cards were used only for white balance calibration.

The blog will be out in a couple of weeks, and all will be revealed! (Hint: Professional portrait photographers always seek 2:1 lighting ratio because it is considered the most pleasing and free of drama.)

No, that the natural light on the bright side is twice as bright as the natural light on the dark side.
