Omg you read my engagement fail out! 😂 I left him waiting 20 minutes, said yes because it was awkward AF! and then left him 6 months later! I still cringe thinking about it! He also bought me a cheap copy of his mother's engagement ring! I should have left way earlier but for a thousand reasons I didn't, I finally plucked up the courage and it was the best thing I ever did! P.s love love love this episode! 💜

I love how most engagement stories start the same with ‘people are being weird and my boyfriend is being weird I’m worried about him’ 😂 cause this was exactly my situation I thought my partner was really stressed with work and I was very concerned about him cause he’s usually very laid back but no it was just his nerves cause he almost lost the ring in the mail 😂

God my cousin had a table of the “wish they could be here” I didn’t realize what it was and I walked passed it and there was a picture that had fallen and I picked it up for them and it was a picture of my dad and I BAWLED I was so happy she did that but it was crazy the one picture that had fallen was my dad and I happened to be the one who picked it up

Morgan I couldn’t agree more with your take on how safe being engaged feels. I felt the same thing when my husband perposed. And honestly the only thing that changed was that we started calling each other fiancé (ie good morning fiancé. How was your day fiancé etc”) nonstop till we were married. Then the only big difference was that we went from “hello fiancé” to “hello husband/wife”

I got a new band for our dating 12 yr anniversary. It was like under $1000 and I absolutely love it. You want to like what you wear everyday for years.

I love the focus you guys put on spending intentional time with your partner -- and how simple it can be! My boyfriend and I get up super early for the gym and, despite how much the time of day sucks, the 25ish minutes we spend in the car total driving there and back are some of the most valuable moments of my day. Sometimes we chat, sometimes we listen to music, sometimes we sit in silence, but it's still dedicated time where we have minimal distractions from one another 🥰

Best thing we ever did as a couple was making sure our immediate family (parents, siblings) spent time together. After we had kids we established Christmas morning breakfast at our house to make sure grandparents & aunts/uncle got solid time with our kids before the hectic day went on. Some ppl think it’s weird how great our moms get along, etc. but it’s made our life so much easier & great for our kids.

the story about the invitations makes me think of my cousin. My cousin's mother verbally invited extended family members. I chatted with another aunt and we agreed that if we are not directly invited by the bride and groom we can't even consider going.

My husband proposed to me with the ring meant for his ex girlfriend. I didn't find out until after a year of being married. So I refused to wear it and made him buy me a new one. He said his mom told him it should be ok lol. I laugh about it now but definitely was livid at the moment.

Recent bride here! Never thought I’d have someone show up in a white dress! Thank goodness the drinks were flowing and I let that shit roll off my back! She is a wife of a groomsmen and she was upset the whole day and kept him away from a majority of the reception, missing speeches and everything! Very upsetting after the fact!

Instead of the wristband idea! My friends wedding she gave out drink tickets, everyone got 2 per person that signed their guest book. They had a roll of drink tickets that a bridesmaid went around and passed out to people. Some got more tickets than others 😂

I got engaged on Halloween night so all I've been going is looking for wedding related stories, this episode was great you got a new subscriber

For my wedding cake I bought a 10” and 6” completely plain white birthday cake from Walmart. At the wedding I brought cute wooden a cake board and cake support, a bunch of mixed berries (raspberries blueberries and blackberries), a bag of powdered sugar and fine mesh sifter. We stacked the cake, scraped the icing off the sides, topped with berries, then dusted with powdered sugar. Worlds cheaper and looked like a pretty standard “naked wedding cake”.

My ring is also pretty much exactly opposite from what I showed him. But the reason he got it made practical sense (easier to upgrade later). I chose a band that is more my style to make up for it.

I got married this past September one of my bridesmaids passed away on expectedly in May. I was heartbroken. she has been a long time best friend to me. so on the day of my wedding I carried her mass card on me and had some purple flowers put in my bouquet in honor of her we also had a table for the departed that couldn't be there with us in physical form bc we know they were all there with us in spirit and in our hearts!!!

Just a few things: I was 45min late to my wedding, but 10min early to the divorce hearing. 🙃 I definitely should've listened to my gut. When I got engaged to my ex, and told my mom, she said that without a date set, there's no engagement...it's just a promise ring.🤨🙄🤦🏽‍♀️ Lastly, separate comforters/blankets IS KEY!! 💯 🥰✌🏽

Y’all talking in the beginning about how helicopter parents take over holidays for some couples is so true! My brother and his wife have been together for around the same time my husband and I have. Difference is we are always second to them. My brother gets dragged to her family year after year after year. For thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. We maybe see them for a few hours early in the day and they leave before dinner or they come after her families event. My mom was finally a bitch about it. For this year. They have 2 kids and one of them is 6 years old… for a little over 7 years this has been how they done it.

We didn’t have the $ for a photographer but all of our friends and family took videos and pictures so I have all different angles of our first dance 🥹❤️ and our kiss and they are my favorite ❤️🥹 we had a small wedding only close friends and family which our family is in Mexico so only our moms and siblings were there and like two of our aunts and then friends and it was so special and full of love ❤️

Also if you have anxiety or abandonment issues going to bed and it really does not work instead try to get to a neutral place not resolved but at least neutral so you don't feel so anxious you can't sleep

I got married 3 weeks ago. My mother in law wore white… she was like “It’s cream.”…… the thing is she loves me and she’s wonderful and my husband and her have a healthy relationship. She’s been very helpful and supportive the whole time and I know she didn’t do it out of malice but yea… my mother in law wore white..

I'm very late to see this, but take heart from someone who has decades of attending weddings under her belt. The ONLY ones I remember are the ones where crazy shit happened. The perfect weddings I barely remember. So if you want a memorable wedding, do not sweat it when stuff goes wrong.

I figured out he was ring shopping, through events that happened during planning. Some of his behavior or some weird patterns in things. He didn't lie and told be it was true since he didn't want me to go crazy thinking about it 😅 he just told me that I couldn't see it yet so I won't know when, where or what the ring looks like. We got engaged not even a month later. We went where we went for our first date, then we went where we became official where the proposal happened. I had no idea it was happening that day, we took a picture that was on a timer and then the next second he was on one knee. I definitely had an out of body feeling, it didn't feel real and it was so exciting. We are working on three years together and our wedding is next year 😄 sorry for the long comment, I just wanted to share mine.

I loveddd this episode! I think it’s hard being at this stage in life/your relationship, and seeing all of your friends getting engaged, and you want that too but are unsure of how to move forward. Especially with social media, I’ve been seeing the perfect “we’re engaged!” posts, and we don’t see what went on behind the scenes for them to get to that point. Sometimes it looks like it was out of the blue, and then you think when will he propose to me? But you have to actually talk about it before hand to get on the same page! Not an Apple Watch, but a Fitbit. I stopped wearing it 2 months prior to my wedding because not only did I have a tan line, but it slightly deformed my wrist. Turned out great and tan lines disappeared!

The dj cancelled for my wedding ceremony at the last minute all because we wouldn’t give him a plus one (he was a friend of my husbands brother and felt entitled to one). So he dropped out. We should have just given him the damn plus one. Because we ended up having my matron of honor’s little sister running it and it went all wrong. It was too loud, the music skipped as the bridal party walked down the aisle ruining the timing of everything and the audio continued to loudly pop throughout the ceremony 😂 oh well

My bf and I usually sleep under the same blanket but I also have my smaller blanket and another blanket I will use when I need more warmth, that is ideal for me. Only one blanket would be annoying for me :D

We're doing handfasting instead of wedding bands (my autism sensory issues say no to two rings on one finger lol) so when it came to an engagement ring i knew it'd be my only one and i'd have to wear it the rest of my life. So i chose it, sent the info to my (now) fiancé and told him it's this one or nothing haha. We also took 7 years to get engaged because we were waiting to be more financially stable haha so he had the info saved for 4 years. I also got him his ring before he proposed to me and carried it around with me for MONTHS whike he was dropping hints, just so i'd be able to uno reverse him after i said yes and the shock and joy on his face was absolutely priceless to me 🥰

There are so many ways to go about the ring situation. My best friend got proposed to Christmas morning with a shotgun that he engraved with her name with his last name. It was so cute and they picked a ring out together later. My other best friend was proposed to with the diamond shape she liked but a basic band. It was intended for her to choose the style later and remake it custom. My late husband took me to Walmart so I could show him the styles I liked and what I didn’t like. I said I liked rose gold with diamond twists. Off handedly I said I didn’t know if it was a real thing but it would be cool to have a heart shaped diamond but I’d really be happy with anything. He proposed with a white gold with plain twists and a heart shaped diamond engagement ring. It was so pretty! He then showed me the wedding band that was rose gold with the diamond twist. He apologized that he couldn’t afford my perfect ring, that he did find it, but would want to replace it later down the line. I told him I loved my rings because he put so much thought and HE picked it. For a big anniversary I would definitely love it if he did get it but I would wear it on another finger because these rings would always be the most special to me. ❤ 37:28

The mom that took over the wedding and invited 100 people most likely used the event as a way to throw a going away party as an "easy 2 in 1". It doesn't make what she did any better, (possibly more toxic honestly) but that's probably where her head was at.

Omg I feel the whole I wanted a different ring. My engagement ring is beautiful, and I know my husband saved up for it, but it's not what I wanted. I wanted my ring to be just a cute little small diamond or even diamond encrusted and a set, so it matched and fit with my wedding ring. I didn't want flashy. My husband bought me a ring that's diamond encrusted but also has bigger than I expected diamond. Still gorgeous, tho. I have grown to love it. Also: I had a strict rule to not tell me anything that went wrong with the wedding on the day of. I have good hearing tho. I heard my bridesmaids talking about not knowing where the f!ck my groom was. He fell asleep late at the house we bought and overslept. He made it on time.

My boy and I quickly got engaged and married over summer bc he joined the military. (We've been together 4 years and known each other 8 we aren't strangers). Because of this we didn't have a real proposal or wedding, but he still got down on one knee in our apartment and took me to dinner where he asked me to be his girlfriend.
