@@robertjebediahfreeman I find with 20% it's perfectly fine with high quality ceramic tints. They have such good clarity. On my old car I had cheap economy 20% and it was hardish to see out of but on my new car the high quality stuff is clear as day I love it!
My last truck was 20% on sides and back with 32% windshield and 5% brow. The sides weren’t too dark and neither was the shield but for the most part you could not see in at all. Which I loved because you could still see out great. I k ow how people are about windshield tint but 32% is darkest I would go. Even with okay bulbs you can still see fine.
For anyone who wants additional info, for a sedan if you get 5% in the back and 50/35etc. the front windows will look overall a bit darker because of the rear windows being 5%, however if the windows in the back are 15%+ then the front windows will look like they have not as much tint. Also interior color plays a huge factor in the darkness in the tint from the outside, black interior really makes the car windows darker
man i got triple layers on front 2 windows measuring at 0% vlt with 18% on windshield and it is still not dark enough as in bright sunny days, I can still see through the windows and see my bright tan interior. Shit wack. It is not that bad on night to be honest. Maybe if the third layer was 5% and not 20%, than it could've being fully black out but I decided to go with 20% as I think it is a bit easier on night and provides less reflections. Back windows are double layered measuring at 7% and the contrast is noticeable but I don't think ill be tinting them again as the civic probably going be sold by January. On the next car, I'm definitely going with 15% over 5% all around and 20% on windshield again. I think that's going be the perfect setup for privacy.
@@RedMoonRising24 yo, nun. Reading that now, I have changed. Now I’m doing 15%W and 5% all around but most likely doing double 5% once I get more funds. Dark tints just go crazy.
this is for anyone deciding what shade they want. i have 20 all around 5 drop about 5 inches below the as1. from certain angles the side windows are nearly clear(looking from back of car through sides toward windshield). and at the same time some angles are nearly impossible to see through. it all depends on if sun is shining through the shield or not so in reality on sunny days you won’t get a true 20% out of it but on cloudier days you will have a limo look at certain angles. if i were to tint again i would go 5 all around no questions asked.
I’m running 50 on the shield and 20 all the way around on my Tesla model 3 and I believe that should be the bare minimum for anyone who wants some tint because it is absolutely perfect. Looking back now I really want to get 35 on the shield and 5 all the way around. I think that would be absolutely perfect for me
i always like to run kind of like you do on earl, 20 or 30 on the front windows and 5 on all the others with a 5% brow. also all the trucks are looking awesome
I have 5% now but I ran 20% on my Tacoma and hated it. Still don’t like how you can see everything through the windshield though so I will be getting 35% on the windshield at some point. Will definitely be redoing the whole truck in ceramic when I do that.
35% is awful dark for a windshield at night. I would recommend 50%. I know 50% looks light but considering you have 5% on everything else 50% on the windshield will appear darker than usual from the outside looking in but the inside looking out will only have 50% of the drivers visibility blocked even at night. I own a glass shop and tint also. Usually after I work at my shop I will tint windows at the person's home if they are wanting tint darker than street legal. I tell them it's for off road use only and have them sign a document stating the vehicle getting tint too dark for legal laws was stated to me to be only used for off roading. I pretty much go as dark as they want on every window but the windshield. I tinted a close friends ride once 20% all the way round including the windshield. He got in a horrible wreck and wheelchair bound the rest of his life. He finally admitted to me he wasn't able to see enough through his windshield before pulling out in front of a greyish black suv.
@@punktalley it depends on the person imo i see really good in the dark, but my eyes are sensitive to light so the tint actually helps me at night. I live in the city though so there's light around most of the time, but i never have trouble out of my 35% windshield even in pitch black darkness. The 5% gave me some trouble on my other windows when i first got it but I'm used to it now. But when in doubt roll em down some
20% on windshield is the way to go tbh, 35% too light during day and night time visibility on 20% windshield is about the same as 35%. Although make sure you have a good pair of bright led headlights as this is what makes night time driving possible. I would recommend Sealight X2's as I have them on my car and they're very bright.
i’m thinking of getting 20% all around, my state doesn’t allow any tint on the front windows or windshield but i think if i get 20% they won’t care. I like it as long as i can see at night, tired of being in a fishbowl like you said lmao
I'm thinking of getting 20% all around too! I read a lot of people do 5% on the back windows and just use a rearview camera to back up if they can't see at night 😆
@@RX-hb3np i just got tint literally yesterday. i got 15% which is pretty dark from the outside and looks good, but i can see perfectly fine out the back and thru all the windows. 5 and 10 would be too dark, i think 15 is perfect
id suggest 35% or 50 on the front windshield if youre thinking about getting it done, although 20% isnt dark it can be a bit much on the windshield especially if you dont live in a well lit area
@@RX-hb3np yeah I have 5% on my back glass and at night it’s literally just black. I don’t know how people can get away with that without a backup camera.
Just got 5% all around on my lifted 2018 F150 crew cab earlier this week, keeping my fingers crossed 🤞 that cops leave me be. Absolutely love the look of 5% tint but believe gonna be quite different at night. Where i live in a province(New Brunswick) in Canada, the entire windshield can be legally tinted so long as it not more than 70% VLT, so that will be my next mod with a 5% brow across the top, awesome video, thanx for posting it👌👍🍺🇨🇦🇺🇸
On two different trucks I have ran 20 on the shield and 5 over 15 all around. The first truck i had I started with 15 all around and 35 on the shield and eventually you get use to the lighter and want to go darker. By the time i sold my 06 cateye it had 20 on the shield and 5 over 15. Got my 2015 sierra and tried to run just 5 and 20 on the shield and quickly missed having my cab windows 5 over 15. slapped a 15 layer over the 5 and I'm committed to never going back to a lighter setup ever again lol. If you run dark tint long enough on a daily driver you get use to it. 5 years same tint, no tickets here in TN. Memphis area really isnt strict at all. If a cop gives you a tint ticket its probably if they are having a bad day and wanna add it on top of something else they pulled you over for lol
I was wondering if you can put tint over tint and it not bubble up or still adhere to the window? My suv came factory tinted 35% all the way around and would like to go 15% tint all the way around. my concern is if i remove my rear tint by a professional company will it pull of the rear defroster strip on my window. Thank in advance for any suggestions.
Can I get a link to the headlight housing on the 90's chevy? i like the clear side lights. thanks in advance. Also is that the stock bumper, I notice it doesn't have the trim but I also don't see the trim holes.
My state requires 35% light in on the front windows. I just don't want dark tint in the back, then basically a spotlight on me driving because the tint has to be lighter.
I just wanna know if the ceramic upgrade is worth it. My new 2021 silverado just always feels hot inside and my 2018 didn't. Neither have/had tint but I feel like I need to cut the heat somehow.
i have a question , so i wanna get my front windows blacked out but ive read that eventually they can charge you with like a misdemeanor or something for getting too many tickets ? is that true ? and if you can get charged with something like that why do so many people have dark windows ? can you just keep paying the tickets off ? i live in Illinois btw
I was vacillating between 2 and 5% but seeing your video made me certain to go the 5% route. I don't do much night driving but when daylight savings kick in, it's going to be a problem and driving with the windows down is not an option on the cold days.
i love the dark stuff. My chevy has 35% down the windshield with a 5% tint strip across the top. Then i got 15% on the front roll downs. 5% on the rest. loooove it
5:50 also a lot of guys talk about this and say when your tint is that dark on the sides you basically need windshield tint to stop that from happening
ive got 5% all the way around my vehicles ive always liked the super dark tint mainly for privacy but saftey is also another reason why i keep it really dark. i dont have any issues with nighttime driving
@@mikkey246 I mean there is a big difference between no tint and 5% but I personally have no issue with 5% tint. You also have to take note of how big your windows are and how much light can pass through. Bigger windows have less issue than a sports car with tiny windows
@@son_of_yah9788 the biggest issue is visibility looking out, particularly at night. The second biggest, which I had never thought of before learning this, is limo tint doesn’t allow for the external predictive cues that a pedestrian might receive from a driver when, let’s say, crossing a street. Is the driver paying attention? Do they see me and is it safe to cross yet? Etc. these cues are not exclusive to pedestrians but are also applicable to other drivers. Most would be surprised at how much feedback seeing the driver can give.
I have a single cab and have 35% on my windshield and 5% on the back glass, I don't know if I should go 5% on the sides or 1%, I like my privacy but I also want to be able to see
Did the brown Chevy have 5% in the back or 5% over $20? Cause I got 5all around NO windshield it’s pretty dark but you can see from the back of the car you can see the front during the day a lil & mostly at night idk if it’s normal.
I was thinking for 15 or 20 but not sure. I want it dark enough where people can’t see in especially being in some bad areas. But I also want to be able to see my side mirrors at night lol
My civic has big windows so I went with %3 sides %5 rear windshield %20 windshield with a %5 strip on top and blocks a lot of sunlight!! I also love the privacy! I can sleep in my car without an issue since I’ve driven with %5 for so long im used to the %3 at night
I had factory 20% with 5% over on my rear windows and 35% with 5% over on front windows on my Hummer H2, literally cars parked right next to me got broken into in a parking lot at night. No issue whatsoever for me cause no one could see inside 🙌🏻
Hey man how can you see at night with the 5 over 20? I got 5% all around NO windshield. It’s pretty dark but not as dark as I want it specially the back window. If youre behind me You can see anything in front of me in the day or night I don’t like that. Not a lot but you can see it’s the point. Either I get 20 over the 5 or windshield which I don’t want
@@Ambush981 I have 30% windshield tint with 25% all around (getting the windows redone to 5% next week) but it makes everything darker., especially the side windows but with 25% you can still see in, which I incredibly dislike. But it makes the sides appear darker in some angles.
Used to love limo tint but now as i got older i just cant see well ,at night. Now its 20 percent to match the factory tints in the rear, and thinking of doing a 70 percent ceramic on the windshield for the heat 🤔
I got 15%, perfect for me. I live in New York and been pulled over twice for other reasons and both times they didn't say a word to me. I'm guessing it's because I roll my driver side window down all the way and the others at least half. They also put I want to say 5% on the top part of the windshield because on my Civic it doesn't come with any sort of tinting so even with the sun-blinds down there was still light passing through from around the rear-view mirror. So that was fixed too
I’ve got 5% and 20% on the windshield in my silverado and I think I’m gonna have to stack another layer on the rear or something. The windows are just so big that even with 5 all the way it lets in so much light
@@icolt1947 never been pulled over. Also have a 800+ hp car so it’s rare I get stopped anyways lol. I’ve since gone darker on the car and still no problem lol
@@TMoneyLive23 yea I got an all black cars, black rims everything except tints on taillights. BUTTTT I don't have any window tints and that's so gross on a black car. I have an appt on Thursday for 20% all around and 50% on the windshield and think imma stick with it
I'm not sure if you are still replying but how dark is the 20% front windshield at night? I have 30% front windshield and I'm getting a 5% brow on top of it next Monday. I probably won't go darker than 30% since I find it to be the perfect balance between visibility transparency at night but still block out the sun from giving me migraines driving to school in the mornings. But curious nevertheless.
I have 2.5% on my 99 Toyota Tacoma and it’s a little difficult at night to see if you’re trying to back up specially, in your driveway when there’s no light coming in from behind like a parking lot.😂 but here in Florida if you don’t get stopped for anything else, I don’t think they really care. Then again it’s a single cab, and only that driver and passenger and back glass is tinted. The front windshield is not, and I usually drive with my window down.
@@ThatGuyDrew16 the first week is always darker until it fully dries underneath. After that its great, I have a deep blue color Silverado and I can still see the side of my truck when switching lanes or parking at night with windows up
my dream tint that hopefully ill get one day in the state of Illinois that supposedly is a misdemeanor is 5 over 20 on the sides with 5 over 5 in the back windshield with a good 15 percent on the windshield 😩😩
I have a 01 lariat F1 50 and it has 2% on it, it was my daily driver and it was horrible but dearing the daytime it’s good night time no but the police was more worried about my pipes than my tent🤣🤣
I have double 2 over factory on my windows and 12 on the sheild but I’m about to do triple 2 over factory and 2 on the sheild on the truck I’m building
I’m running 25% on my whole windshield with 5% all the way around looks great only trouble is driving at night with no street lights it’s pretty difficult to see around you.
Do you get pulled over a lot? I am thinking of getting 50% tint all around front and back. I just don't want to get pulled over every time I drive past the police station.
mismatching shades is how you get problems, 5% all around is fine, you will adjust to it when lightning is uniform , but if your windshield is brighter than your surroundings, welp, trouble guaranteed, my dad's 35% windshield & 5% sides-back feels way harder to see out of at night than my 5%-everything
Now I’m jealous. Around here vehicle code does not allow any tint on front doors, but in reality only going darker than 50% will get you a ticket. As long as the officer can see you clearly, they will let it slide.
i just did 2.5% all around and im LOOVING the privacy. if i get a 109$ ticket ill just re tint them. i did it myself anyways so the ticket is basically what i saved tintng em 😂. also black windows just make vehicles look way better. as for night driving as ling as u are looking way ahead before u turn ur good lol or ive just learned to roll the windows down if i need to park in a tight spot
