This is back when Walla Walla was actually fun and great

I´ve lived in Walla Walla since 1987 when I came here to go to college and I never left. WW2 is one of the most beautiful cities anywhere and I have traveled all over. Winters are usually pretty mild with little measurable snow except every 5 years or so we really get dumped on. This year was bad so I guess we´re good now for about 5 years;) Summers are hot-with temps around 90-105 regularly. We have great weather between April through November. I love the heat but my kids don´t but hey-thats what they invented aircond for. Trees are everywhere. There is crime. But there is crime no matter where you live. There are more homeless people than there used to be and they do stand on their favorite corners with their signs. We have over 200 wineries in the valley producing world class wines. The price of houses has sky rocketed since the people came in from California. There are communities nearby that are small and you can commute easily. We have a large hispanic population that adds a definite Mexican flavor to many things. Plently of Mexican markets in the valley with great shopping and Mexican restaurants with great food and good prices. We have Chinese eateries too and plenty other kinds in between. We have a wonderful down town with outdoor seating and venders selling diff foods on the corners. Great place to live.

They always say "Walla Walla is a great place to raise a family". Heh, yeah, I always say "Its a great place to raise a family, but not a great place to find some one to raise a family with"

@phatkix iT IS about six hours. After you get over the pass, the weather turns nice and NO TRAFFIC. all the way in. you hit elensburg , vantage or yakima and cruise on in . There is NO TRAFFIC after the pass going east.

As far As I know, I am not the only person in the world with this thing called a video camera. Eye, if you want to take a few videos of what I missed, go right ahead. the car club is a sore spot for me personally. I builty a 1968 SS Camaro with a LS6 427 back in 1979. It had 18 inches of aluminum sticking out of the hood consisting of a 6:71 Blower, 3 inch Cragar blower drive, Weiland full blower intake, 2 Holly 666 center squirters and polished aluminum dual carb blower scoop. I SOLD IT. Then I spent years building by 1965 Chevrolet Turbo Corvair, all original 180HP and I SOLD IT. that is why I don't mention the car club because I kick myself for getting rid of those two classic cars. THE OLD CAR CLUB IS GREAT.

Walla Walla does have a Large Maximum Security Prison. I will not film around it, because 1- I think it is highly frowned upon and 2- it may be illegal. I am not sure. There are plenty of official pictures of the place and there are signs all along the road that you cannot stop or protest or congregate or something like that. I leave that for others to film if they like.

I'm from CA but I love visiting my neighbors to the north; Oregon and Washington. Portland is a really awesome city with great people and Seattle is also the same way. I visit every chance I get! I even love going to Spokane. I also love the fact that you get a lot of rain! I passed through Walla Walla once when I was a young kid back in '94. Not much I remembered then. Not many people know this, but theres a lot of hot babes in the pacific northwest.

Lol the overpriced backstage bistro..I used to LOVE going to starbucks and then over to the book and game to see what was new.
