@@abdel-rahmanel-sagher2237 For some blues sounds, check this out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jCmbRtWPLhc.html As for setting up a guitar, I have been thinking about doing that, starting with acoustic guitars, but I want to do electrics too!
@@abdel-rahmanel-sagher2237 The Mustang I is more programmable, you have a lot more FX and I think you can layer them. The Champion 20 is more straight forward, and you can not layer the FX.
I've studied music for over 30 years, from choral to instrumental to symphony/orchestra to theory and the physics of soundwaves. This is the most straightforward, easy-to-understand, common sense explnantion I've ever heard of the relationship between gain (tone shaping) and amp volume. Thank you.
I have always wondered how to find my voice on the amp, to see that you're doing a series on the fender champion 20, which i also have, makes me really happy!!
I am glad that you enjoyed the video! Please subscribe and hit the bell so you won't miss the other videos I will do on the Champion 20! Thank you for watching and commenting!
Dude thank you thank you THANK YOU sooo much, I hope you see this man, I have been playing for 6 months now and there are so many videos that explain this in the weirdest way, and some don’t even show a demonstration, just all talking. This was the most detailed and well explained version of this on youtube, and it was described in literally minutes. You are an angel for this dude, I’m ready to keep practicing now
I hope you stuck with it 👍🏻. Learning to play a instrument takes dedication and lots of time. Lots of people give up by 6 months so I hope you hung in there. When I first started I dunno how many times I got fed up, stuffed guitar in closet, and swore to never touch it again lol. But a day or 2 later I’d get it back out and try again. That was 25 years ago
That was the best explanation explaining the difference between the two. I have been trying to understand that simple thing I play a sax and I have been having trouble balancing the backing track with my horn. I feel like my horn is taking up too much of the recording sound so it sounds out of place. This is a step in the right direction. Cheers
Thank you so much ...I've been wrestling with my ZT amp and was getting fed up with fact I didn't understand what was going on until I saw this brilliantly simple explanation ...Brilliant! thank you.
Thank you for these very informative, clear and straight to the point videos. I recently got this amp and your videos are helping me learn more about it as I'm still new to electric guitars and amps!
I appreciate your lectures on this amplifier - I got it last night at GC, and a nice Stratocastor. It was before you were born ( mid 60's) as when I had a Mustang and my Fender Delux which did not even include reverb. I was impressed with all that is included in the functional scope of the Champ 20, and enjoy your examples in demonstrating how to make use of it - thanks Now I will relearn as wanting to accompany my own keyboard work. I got flat wounds to put on as I have no callouses -
That was the clearest explaination i have seen yet , The hook was that you used actual sounds, a guitar and an amp to demonstrate . KUDOS! I have a Mustang l as a practice amp but am constantly challanged to understand the different banks of sounds. Maybe a Video on that Amp with your outstanding demo. I Use reverb a lot so the Champ 2o probably wouldnt suit my needs. Thank You Thank You Thank You
I'm learning alot here, I've been struggling with sound clarity and blowing my tweeters every Sunday now I know where the real problem has been, I've pushing turning the gain knob all the way up😢
I have the champion 20 too, and when the volume is low in it, the gain is low too. the gain will be 10 only when the volume is 10. Is there any way to fix this?
Thank you very much Deric. The crispest and easiest explanation I came across. Bought my first AMP a day back and been struggling to understand this difference. The AMP user guide failed miserably.
I think that was in my recording...it got too hot for the mic, or the preamp maybe, but the amp stayed clean. I will double check to make sure. Thank you for commenting and watching!
Hi,,I like passing on information that may help people, as you do also, and I purchased a Looper from Ebay(only cost $34 Canadian) made by Cuvave and it is so much fun. You come up with jams and riffs and then you record it with the Looper and it plays it back and you can jam or play lead over top of it..you can also do multiple loops to add colour..I love it and it is a great way to learn timing.
I have a little starter kit epiphone special, now I have a nice les Paul epiphone and a fender 20 that was recommended by guitar center, I watched 3 videos and I appreciate your help thanks.
Thank you thank you. I’ve been playing guitar for longer than I care to admit and didn’t understand such a simple concept. Your video got right to the point and explained it very clearly.
I watched this without being logged into my account, the only person that has a short and fantastic explanation, so I decided to login and give you a like and sub also you deserve more subscribers you're underrated.
Can you do a video on what pedals to use when performing live? Especially when you would like your guitar solos to cut through the rest of the band (without cracking up the volume too much)?
I see this video is 3 years old but I want to ask a question. Long story short, my older guitar amps only had a volume control. My new Peavy VIPER X1 has 3 volume controls. Listed on the amp as pre-gain, post-gain and volume. Do you have a video that explains how to use these controls? Thanks!
Great explanation, thanks! So glad you share the love for the Fender Champion 20. I've bought, traded, sold, and in some cases rebought every modeling amp by Blackstar, Boss, Fender, Orange, and Vox... Even some 1-5 watt tube amps. Basically everything with a 8" speaker that they sell at Guitar Center and this is by far the best. Yeah a Champion 40 is better for the bigger speaker but I prefer small amps and don't like to use multiple channels.
Hi. My question is. I practice at home and want to know how I can get a good recording of my playing! When I record the sound is nothing like the actual sound and I'm struggling with what's the best way to record video & sound for a RU-vid video. Any advice would be much appreciated. 👍
im new to playing guitar have a fender amp and guitar. trying to play the solo from nothings gonna stop us now. the sounds im hearing from the amp are nothing like what i should be hearing. what should the settings be to get the correct sound?
You just helped me not sound like crap on the first vid I watched! 👍✌️🤙🤘. So if I have a Marcus Miller bass with a pre amp, do I start with the bass Vol and gain or the amp? I want to sound just like Gedy, Flea, Thunder Fingers, basically all of the greats at the same time with a little Chris Squire too! Seriously though thank you!
Volume controls are transparent in that they can't alter the signal in any way. It doesn't matter how high or low you have it. Only excessive gain can distort or harm the signal. Since you play bass, I assume you want a clean, non-distorted sound. Since gain is the only thing that can alter signal, you set it first. Once you have gain set where it works best for you, leave it alone. From that point on, use only volume controls.
Great information, I have a fender Vibro champ xd . I’m looking for a warm sound with some breakup and I only play at home so I can’t play crazy loud , I play a fender American standard Strat. Can my amp do that or should I consider another amp???
This video has a nice recording of both: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lUcl1ZLUZ0E.html 2:35 is where he plays the C40 and 3:32 is where he plays the C80. They both sound great and are quality guitars! I hope that helps!
I didn't have any processor or pedal so I use only amp and guitar. I use high gain for distortion tone is it harm for my Amplifier ? Sir please enlighten me 🙏❤
Why is there always a loud pop when I press the off button behind the amp, yes I turn all volume and gain all the way down and on my guitar itself too and all the other knobs as well I turn all the way down and there’s still a loud pop, is that normal and will it damage the amp?
Which fender amp has an effects loop so I can attach a looper pedal for separate tone than my live play, and what’s the difference between effects loop and foot switch?
I've always found that the lower the gain, the amp's overhead will eventually power thru that level of crunch and even make the gain level seem cleaner. Then I had to tweak the gain up enough to get back the crunch I preferred at lower gain & volume settings. And with any of the amps there is a point where the natural breakup at volume starts to occur, the sweet spot of the amp, because there's going to be a point where the gain & the volume really has met & started to exceed the limitations of the amp & speaker. Practice amps are more likely to strain than the more powerful amps do. With higher gain settings, I might be able to get the volume to the 3 o'clock before it starts to really sound awful, 1 or 2 o'clock for that much gain is that amp's sweet spot.
