Hi OMG i needed his helps. I found out today i have to do this liquid diet for my surgery 10/10/22 I feel scared but after hearing and seeing the drinks I feel a little better. I don't want to cheat i really do6n't but i get very bad headaches and i get very weak. i get like this when i do a colonoscopy and that's for 1 day i will ask can you help with the vitamins which kinds are good i need to start buying those soon
The protein shakes are just a temporary measure for the pre op diet, in order to shrink and burn fat off of the liver prior to surgery, to prevent it from being damaged. Pretty similar to forcing you into ketosis for a couple weeks. The reason fruits are avoided are because the natural sugars prevent this from happening. Long term, well after the surgery, you can go back to juices, just keep track of your total sugar intake.
My surgery is is it 2 weeks my dietitian and my surgeon seems to be no help at all they just say it's in the book. Thank you for clearing that stuff up.
