Hi Joe, thank you for your kind comment. I'm glad that you're finding my content helpful. Unfortunately, that would not qualify for the Smart Visa. One of the main requirements of the Smart Visa are that your business/ idea has to be technologically innovative and that it has to benefit Thailand.

Just a few questions before I contact you - To set up a thai limited company is it correct that the government fee to register a company in Thailand is the same for Baht 15 capital or Baht 1M capital. Thus the government fee to set up a Thai company is about 7,000 for Baht 1 M registered capital. Also is it correct that we would not need to own a building for this registered company ? Would an apartment address suffice ? Sorry for all the questions

The traditional Thai Company Limited Set Up requires that you register with 2 million baht per foreigner who needs the work permit and Non-b visa. If you set up a company under the Smart Visa it is possible to just set up the company with 100,000 baht. You do not need to own the building to register your company there. You can rent an office space or house, you just need permission from the landlord to register your company there.

Foreigners can study, work, and do business in Thailand as long as they have the correct visa.
