In this video, I shared some changes I made to my living space and the things I've learned from staying alone in the apartment. Overall, I must say that the house is overall comfortable and low maintenance with minimal furnishings.

Absolutely agreed that shower curtains are so much more convenient than glass screens - just toss them into the washing machine with towels every now and then to keep clean! As for the pests, I find that allowing one house lizard to “stay” in the house helps to keep the ant and bug population scarce!

I used to hate lizards but after the ant infestation incident, I also thought that maybe have a lizard as a house pet might be a good thing.

New toilets need to be careful . Some construction workers because unable to sweep away all the sand will push all the sand into the new drain

Actually I didn't get any shower curtains nor glass doors. True, your entire shower room will be wet including the toilet area.. but because you have one large window, whenever I open it, the whole place will be dry within 2 hours. And I live on the 2nd floor.

so true. that's what I am gonna do for my next house. The common toilet actually doesn't need a glass door or shower curtains. Given our weather, it actually dries pretty fast.

You can actually use car window cleaner and car glass protector for toilet glass door. Usually protects and last one month.

Guys for ants.. I learnt frm tiktok...put in vinegar in spray bottle and spray at the areas where there re ants. and ants will come out on early morning and evening. then once they come out spray with vinegar and then kill them with insecticide. I had this prob in my current rental ofc rm and I did this method. at first i just spray on places I saw there re ants and realized that they moved to under this board I hv on one part of my wall. then I quickly kill them with these 2. so far so good. over 2 yrs alrdy it works

May I ask. For the toilet waste stack pipe. Did you seperately. ask your ID to make box up or is it done by HDB?

You said your toilet got clogged due to construction worker might have thrown sand etc into it? Is the clogging problem solved after that?

It got clogged not because they throw sand into it. During the construction process, the sand might have entered it. The clogging problem was solved by my dad and he managed to clear the sand and it was all good

that was a second-hand basket meant for kitchen. Not sure where my parents got from but it was probably from many years ago

Hmm,the flat seems to be insect 🧲 😝..Nice video...my uncle & aunt also like you,had their bto(2rm) delayed.They are putting up@my flat for the time being.Personally I prefer physical keys to the electronic ones😇.Ease of convenience does have its downsides too😅...I'm too thinking of vinyl flooring(overlay).Try not to put any(blue) things in the toilet bowl tank..sometimes, depending on the chemical properties,it might 'eat' thru the rubber seal. You have a new subscriber😁

Thanks for your sharing, suggestions and advice. I wish that I also can experience staying alone, I'm not marry and not working and I do not have much CPF , I wonder can I apply for a small BTO flat, can you kindly answer my question? Looking forward for your answer and your next video! It's so excited!

Hi Wei Pang! Yes I guess u can still apply for a flat as long as you are eligible to own one. You can perhaps take a HDB or bank loan to cover the costs

Is it big and comfortable enough for 1 person to live and move around?

Thank you! I live above 10 floors and there are still pests! It can come from the chute and everywhere.

@@DeeniseGlitzTV *shudders* Have you tried an exterminator service for preventative measures? We have one come by every 6 months to put down trays of poison crystals under the kitchen cabinets, bathroom sinks, etc. Costs about $200 and haven't had a cockroach since.

@@DeeniseGlitzTV I used to think high floors have no pests. But yes I realised pests in everywhere. Really need to keep clean regardless of whichever level you are. I diligently throw away my rubbish everyday especially after cooking.

as for spiders, yes they are everywhere!! Need to regularly clean the house. Chores are a pain in the ass and that is the time when I am glad that smaller house requires less time to upkeep on weekly basis. Try Bio-X spray within the house. It is safer and can be preventive measure for up to a week. I spray along my window frames (clean it on weekly basis - not the panes) on a weekly basis.

Tks for giving us yr feedback when u mention about glass door and u said its v hard to clean i would not agreed with u tho. Apologise I have glass door and perfectly good cleaning no issue I use foam soap and jus clean it up and once a week I will spray with magic clean and clean it than wash with warm or cold water seriously living in a 2 room apartment for 3 coming yrs no issues.. I really don't like curtain when u bath water will splash out and I hate it 😒 tht y I think for me ah glass door looks beautiful and u jus got to maintain it ... for ants spray with vinger do not mix with water jus spray so far so good but yes, needed you have to find the nests .. sori getting old but no patience to jus follow the ants when I am younger staying in the EA I manage to do tht now hahahha 😆 nei anyway its not alot see kill and spray vinger so far so good.

No worries. It’s all about personal preference ! Glassdoor Definitely look more aesthetically pleasing. The shower curtain is my parents preference actually. For me I might go for a half shower glass panel for my new home

@@DeeniseGlitzTV tht will look good and also it won't splash all over omg many yrs back had try tht and issues is to much work for shower curtain.. tht y I change to shower glass tht was when I stay in condo .. to much trouble and have to redo the whole toilet so have to think carefully or lots of inconvenience.. take care

I am struggling whether to buy 2 room flexi since I was single..although I have plan to upgrade to bigger hdb in future with full financial capabilities . Or first hdb straight away resale flat. What would you think? Please share with me your view.

I guess it depends on a lot of factors. If the wait time is your concern, resale might be faster. HBD BTO 2-room is longer as all the projects have been delayed.

Bro, if your financial situation allows , it s gd to consider a bigger resale flat. In future you can have extra rooms to rent out to earn rental income too in the long run. In the event that u should get married and have kids in future, space is also a concern. But please note the remaining lease period for a resale flat. Some are older flats and have much shorter leasing period left. In future u can still downgrade to a 2 room flexi if the situation requires. But a 2room flexi can be very cosy and comfortable too if nicely done up and maintained much similar to a condo studio apartment. Gd for one man stay or just a couple. Do put into consideration your life style, financial situation and the waiting time. Hope u make the best and happiest decision . All the best to u. 🙂

I already Book a 2 room , estimated next year completion. Location is Good enough for me , because sub train just at next block hdb. Targeting One time pay Off by cash when sign lease of agreement. If find My Love later, will sale and buy bigger Old hdb later, within 5 years if have Children should be still ok. The important is My Love have confidence On me. Prefer 先苦后甜。 Or long debt. I still Cannot find any reason to Stop me (to buy) before sign lease of agreement. Still have 8 months to re- re -re consider ….

You talk and look like a nice lady but I hope you can be more tolerant of other animal / insect species. At least, not to kill them outright. They have co-evolved in human households a long time and should not present any extreme dangers. In fact, I love to share my living space with them.
