2 Years on Our Property. What it Looked Before & Now! Also, Where We're Going!

Painting the Roses red, Painting the rose red, The Queen she likes them red, if she saw white instead, She'd raise a fuss and each of us would quickly loose our head. THe only thing bout having vegetation close to your home, is it invites bugs into your home as any home inspector would tell you, other than that Emily-- LET HIM DO WHAT HE WANTS!! We like the videos. Update was long, but I enjoyed it. And it really gave me a clearer picture of all the land you have!! How many acres??

Emily, I am usually a stick in the mud about changing things but his idea for stuccoing the walls is absolutely gorgeous. The added benefit is that it won't be seen that from all sides so it won't feel overwhelming.

God was watching over you and rewarded your tenacity by providing an angel in the form of Bill!! What a great story❤️

Wow, sounds like a "magic kingdom" when if finally comes together. It would be really fun to have some topiaries, "Alice" related, in the area where the chessboard is. English gardens have topiaries. Maybe a Mad Hatter, Cheshire Cat, the White Rabbit, some that are easy to maintain the shape. I'm sure the Queen of Hearts would love the space.

I LOVE all you've done so far, Brian, and your ideas for the future (especially the stucco and blue shutters, hint, hint Emilie!). It will be exciting and fun to watch you bring it all to reality. I've gotten so many great ideas just watching you work! Perhaps you already know this, but during the War of the Roses in English history, the red rose signified the house of Lancaster, and the white rose, the House of York. When Henry VII won the war for the Lancasters, he wanted to put an end to the constant fighting, so he founded a new dynasty, the Tudors, taking a red and white rose as its emblem, essentially combining the two houses. I realize it isn't Alice in Wonderland, but it's still a fun fact, and exactly what I thought of when I saw the pictures! Congrats on two VERY productive years in your new home!

You’re an artist, master gardener, visionary, carpenter, chicken dad, and on and on ! Thanks for taking us on this journey. I joined before you moved but that place was mostly done, (I think I witnessed the water feature going in). Looking forward to all the future adventures 💚

I live on a hill. My veg garden is on a big slope but, unfortunately I never was able to find someone who could terrace it for me. You were and are definitely blessed.

Fun seeing your dreams becoming reality! The cottage coop and garden theme are my favorite so far. Love the gardens having different rooms with different themes. It will be like living in your own dream world. I'm gobsmacked. Red and white roses immediately bring my mind to Yorkshire and Lancashire---war of the roses.

When Alice first enters the garden, the cards try to explain to Alice that they are painting the roses red because the Queen likes those and they planted white ones by mistake. Unfortunately for them, the Queen catches on to their ruse due to a single poorly painted rose, and has them beheaded anyway.

Reminds me of my aunt who said, "Anyone can eat an elephant 🐘! You just have to take one bite at a time!" Continued success, determination, and thrilling completion of all your projects! Thank you for all this inspiration, Brian!

I love all your ideas for the future and it was great to look back over how much you have achieved. You can tell how much you love designing and creating the spaces and watching them grow. I am the same. I love taking an empty space and turning it into something I've dreamed up in my head. It's so satisfying. Don't forget to sit still and enjoy it every once in a while too.

Ok, Brian. This is a wonderful tour of your gardens before and now. I read all the comments! (Woke up way too early, and no chance of this lolling me to sleep.) You have the best viewers! Words they’ve used often are wow, artistic, creativity, imaginative, inspiration! I’d also use these. You’ve gotten some great suggestions, too-it’s one thing I love about your channels. You inspire me! I like everything you create, and that you sometimes learn on the spot. Your garden knowledge is endless. And I believe that one day, when this 1 1/2 acre area is “finished” you will add land and keep going. Someday, the gardens you envision will become a public park and anyone can come see all of your life’s work! How’s that for looking into the future? You never know! Amazing what you've accomplished so far..hard not to smile all through this video. Your vision for this property at first sounds like "pie in the sky" dreams, but you have made enough of it come to life that I am convinced what you have in mind will be equally beautiful. (Emily, the stucco vision sounds incredible and you gotta admit, Brian's credibility is unblemished at this point!) I just love your ability to take really grand ideas and execute them scaled down considerably but with the same feel and vibe. What you are doing is art!

When I started watching you years ago at your other property, I was blown away with how gorgeous your chicken house and tropicals were and how lush and beautiful your vegetable garden were. I continued to watch and so appreciated all your gardening knowledge, which I, being a city girl and an old Mimaw, did not have. You have taught me so much. My grandson is an young adult and he loves to grow things, so I gave him my copy of your book,”Companion Planting”. I need to buy another one for me. I mean, the name of your channel says it all, Next Level. I knew you’ve talked about working at Disney, but honestly, your imagination and the ability to vision what you could do on your property, is amazing. You truly have a God given “Gift”. I have just realised you have this new Chanel so I have sat & watched all your videos up to this one & WOW you have done such a lot. Everything looks great. The chicken coop is such a hoot & takes me back to my time in England & the enchanting thatched homes. So whimsical & romantic. You did a fabulous job. I don’t know how anyone can ridicule or abuse you. They are not even worth considering. Your work ethic is incredible & your wonderful essence of art is seen everywhere. I can completely visualise & admire your future direction of the garden & can’t wait to see it fulfilled. Walking from one garden to the next, with different themes will be absolutely thrilling. You seem to be setting yourself up with an immense amount of upkeep but I think you will handle it. This is just a thought - but I wonder if it would be better to put the Japanese garden where you plan to put Daisy May. The layout plus the pond lends itself to that theme. Then give Daisy May the larger area. That way you could add other animals, some pigs & maybe a goat. Then you will feel like you are homesteading more. But just a thought - your home. Thank you for the lovely hours of watching your dream become a realty. I will keep watching.

Of course we get it...off with her head!! I think you need some wrought iron sculptures in that Wonderland garden that look like giant flowers and pea tendrils. Maybe a giant mushroom shade umbrella? When I was a little kid we used to love moving dirt with our Tonka Toy "diggers". Some people never grow out of that. You are so lucky to have Bill! 😄

It's been way to many decades since reading that book of Mr. Carroll's to remember what the roses thing is. Plus it was the late 60's and we all read it while high on LSD.
