Prayers Needed...Breaking Down the Worst Day of My Life: • Prayers Needed- Breaki...
---------------------------------------------
Hi I'm Brian with Next Level Homestead. If this is your first time here... welcome! I'm glad you're here! If you're a longtime friend, welcome back!!
For most of my life I was a city boy, gardening in the suburbs. I was the first generation in my family to not grow up on a farm and somehow it was still there inside me. So now my wife Emilie, son Noah and I have moved to a small farm (at least it will be) and we're documenting our journey on this channel. Building gardens and chicken coops, buying a dairy cow and who knows what else lies in store. But we can't wait to take you with us!
(The link above is an affiliate link. If you purchase through our links we'll receive a small commission that helps support our channel, but the price remains the same, or better for you!)

I have said this before, but my mom had a dissecting aneurysm and survived. She is a gardener, and I believe that had something to do with it. All we can do is embrace those we love, embody our beliefs, and share things we are passionate about and find joy in. Which you do and share with us all. More people are lifting you up than you know.❤

Brian, I am not a doctor but I worked in several very prestigious hospitals (Including Vanderbilt) in Nashville, Houston, Atlanta, Charleston, Washington D.C., etc. in information technology for many years working alongside of all kinds of doctors, nurses, specialists, etc.. While I am retired now, I can tell you that when tests like yours are done, you can be sure that if you had something show up really bad, they would immediately roll you to the E.R. and assign you to a bed - you would definitely not be sent home so soon. So, what I have learned is the longer you wait on a result, the less likely it is to be urgent. I know this sounds counter intuitive and it drives you batty, but that is my experience dealing with the medical establishment. No doctor worth his/her salt is going to risk their carreer on delaying test results that may be fatal. I hope this helps, stay busy and keep postive. Our prayers are with you.

I truly believe in WHAT YOU ARE saying about tests. I had to keep telling myself the same thing waiting for the results of my PET scan recently to tell me if my throat cancer was gone. No signs of cancer at this time.

Brian, I personally have not had to deal with an aneurysm. However, I have known several who have. One of whom is my brother in love, Bill. He did have to have a procedure to repair them and is doing fine. Just like you, Bill has to have an MRI and wait for the results. Yes, waiting IS the most difficult part. You have done a great thing here by sharing your story and the battle you have with anxiety. It's the first step! Praise God! My wife Barbara and I will be praying for you and your family. Asking Him to give you peace beyond our understanding! Also praying for a good report from your doctor! Good to hear you are keeping yourself busy! I'm looking forward to seeing the results! Love your content! Be thankful, be safe, and God bless!

Hang in there. This is totally understandable! Hugs! I had a year in which I got divorced, laid off, a mentor died, and had to move to a different State (with 2 young kids). I had to move LITERALLY the day of my mentor's funeral. It was spring and for years I had physical manifestations of anxiety every spring. It's been almost 9 years now. It's gotten better (thank you therapy)! It's not all gone but it'll get better! In fact GARDENING, a SPRING activity, has really helped with the healing! Praying for peace for you.

I haven't seen the video yet, but I hope you're health is okay. So I'm finally at the point of the video where you've spoken about your health, and now you're talking about your land and your fabulous work. And I can't think about anything but your health. I also have ADHD, and had cancer a few years ago and am still testing annually to make sure it's not back. And for days I stress. And STRESS!!! Emily is a God send. And you live life the way it was meant to be lived. Fully. With love and kindness. And you share that love with all of us. And we love you back. All the best. And prayers as well. And I'll wait on the edge of my seat for the video that says you'll be working on the Japanese garden soon. Woohoo! Spring is coming!

Sending prayers while you wait, Brian. I've been going through a similar experience because of prostate cancer. I have had more scans, scopes and biopsies in the last two years than I've had in my entire life before the diagnosis. My providers have a web site where they post results usually within the same day of the test. Only drawback was I had to find out I had cancer all on my own, by reading a radiologist's report. You know that you have a HUGE community of followers who are concerned about you.

I understand your thoughts and anxiety completely. I had cancer in 2011/2012. (I’m completely cancer free now.) The first few years after recovery I would have a PTSD reaction as my mammogram would approach. I even changed facilities for my mammos, because it brought back so many bad memories to sit in that waiting room. I can tell you that it got better each year, and now I feel only the slightest twinge of nerves on the day of the exam. Each year of good reports adds up to the positive evidence your brain needs to feel safe again. You will get there. I’m already praying for you and for a speedy and good report.

Anxiety is very real and to the people who say "get over it or stop worrying about it"...well, they just don't understand and it's usually because they haven't had to go thru waiting for test results like this. You are a strong person and you've got this. I hope the waiting time for results is not too long. I wish doctors realized how hard this kind of waiting is on people. Staying busy does help. Sending prayers for you, Emily and Noah as you wait for the good news...that I feel certain you are going to get.

Sending positive energy your way, Brian & Emilie! You got this! As someone who has dealt with anxiety nearly all of my 50 years, I understand that that is often worse than whatever medical emergencies that come knocking on your door. Continue to be grateful that you're aware of the problem, and more importantly keeping up with the checkups - as scary as that is. For what it's worth, you've got so many people sending prayers up or positive energy or healing light your way, and although it can be strange to some, I believe those prayers and energy and healing light - even from people you may have never met - can be a wee bit of help, even if it is just to ease the anxiety for a few moments of your day. I hope you get your good news/results sooner rather than later! ...and if all else fails, hug a big fluffy pup (or a small not as fluffy pup! ;) ), or an adorable little Dexter cow, or a tree, and just let the energy of your little world bring you the happiness you all so deserve!

They are a great distraction from driving myself crazy thinking of all the 'what ifs' ,or worse yet, the " if onlys. " Both scenarios can keep me up with anxiety all night. Thank goodness i can reread your companion planting book and take notes from your gardening tips. Stay active as much as you can as a distraction and maybe being happy seeibg all u accomplished will raise your endorphins. Wishing you abd your family only the best! Take care!

I can relate to your fears. I have had 4 strokes and lived in a Nursing Home for several years while I was in my 50s. I live with those fears every day that It will happen again. I am happy to say that I have bought a house and a car and am living independently, something that I never thought I would do again. My point is, fears can be tackled and dealt with. I do what I enjoy, gardening and painting and I have good friends that I can turn to. God bless you and happy gardening.

I know how it feels. I have had PTSD since childhood and as you said, it never goes away ( I'm 71). But therapy does give you a lot of different tools to get through episodes. My favorite is DISTRACT, DISTRACT, DISTRACT. Going at a hands on project that you know will clear your mind is the best medicine. At night, a good book or getting lost in RU-vid works for me as well. You just do whatever it is to get through the 'wait for result' period and know that a lot of your subscribers are wishing the absolute best for you!

Hi Brian, I too have an aneurysm that is being monitored every year. My neurological surgeon is a highly respected expert in this field and a professor at one of the best universities on the African continent. He has told me exactly the same as your Dr has told you. Most people die with an aneurysm & not from it. As a former medical social worker who worked in a spinal & stroke rehab hospital, I wotnessed many a sad story from strokes, but rarely, from an aneurysm & especially not one that was being monitored regularly. I too have high anxiety (years of trauma work has left it's mark), so I hear you when you talk of your emotional state at this time of year. I experience similar every June. But I also know that I am in good hands and that it doesn't help me to ruminate about the what ifs! I try to keep busy, like you are trying atm, but also have found it has to be something I really enjoy doing & preferably physica..l. maybe a big garden project 😊 that tires you out and leaves little time for worrying about what has not happened. Your therapist has no doubt given you some coping techniques to utilise. I use the one where I only allow myself a set time (say 7pm to 8pm) to dwell on it, then I visualize putting it back in a box, closing the lid & not accessing it again until tomorrow. During the year, I am not allowing myself more than 5 minutes once or twice a week, preferably less, to even entertain it. Only in June do I let myself look at the 'problem ' more than this in terms of monitoring my anxiety. I hear you about the wait, I don't think Dr's realize the angst of the report back waiting period. All I can say is that we live in hope & choose positivity and therefore must believe we will die of old age. Hope you get your results quickly & that there's absolutely nothing to be concerned about. That's enough of an essay from me. Good luck, keep gardening ❤ Regards Debz

I totally understand your anxiety as I have dealt with it my entire life, too. What I try to do to lessen my anxiety is to change my perspective on what is causing me to be anxious by making a celebration out of a difficult event. I create a special dinner with loved ones or treat myself to an adventure that isn't in my normal routine. That way, I have something to look forward to after or in concurrent with the anxious event. I like to think that it cancels out the anxiety. I wish you all the best 💜

My sister had a brain aneurysm. She is doing great. She lives with family members and is surrounded by grandchildren. That keeps her grounded. My sis works a lot for a grocery chain also. Keeps busy. She also had cancer after the brain aneurysm. She made it through surgery and doing well. Her faith is strong and is doing great. My sis is an amazing person. You are a kind and gentle soul and my prayers are with you an Emily. Blessings ❤️🌺

Big big hugs Brian. You’ll be just fine. Cuddle that big furry white pup to relieve anxiety. She’s a comfort animal. Every thing is going to be just fine. Look at all you’ve done on your place and nothing happened. You did a lot of physical work and you did it without even a scratch. Sending positive vibes your way. 😊

Thanks for sharing your experience. Anxiety is definitely a challenge, especially when you have a scary diagnosis. I personally don’t have anxiety, but I do with depression. Depression caused severe alcoholism, which landed me in the hospital about 4 years ago. Once I realized why I started heavy drinking, it helped me overcome it, and while I still keep an eye on myself, am doing well now thank God. I wish you could change your perspective, by focusing on the fact that you survived a freaking aneurysm…what an amazing blessing! But my son has ADHD, and while he’s learned to control it for the most part, his childhood was difficult for me, but for him at times, living nightmare, so I get it. All I can say, is keep doing what works for you, while always looking for better things as you go along. God bless you and Emily, and I’m praying that the MRI results are good news. 🙏 ❤

Brian, you are not the only one that deals with anxiety and it is very real. I hit a patch of depression between Thanksgiving and Christmas every year and have to work through it. Some years are better than others. I have a lot of anxiety about going to places I haven't been before or being around large crowds of people, especially if I don't know most of them. Saying some prayers for you and the anxiety you are going through.

Amazing that this video came out today. Just had a visit with my primary physician discussing my "white coat syndrome" anxiety which has accelerated over the years. Even though it's cause is quite different from yours (and certainly less frightening), I'm having a very difficult time with it and she suggested therapy for me. I'm so impressed with you and your wonderful family (both human and animal!) and absolutely adore your channel. I love your honesty and wish you everything positive during January and every other month of the year. Hopefully you'll get many supportive and positive responses from your loving fans!

I don't have any experience with that medical issue but I've had anxiety since I was 5 and I'm 55 now so it is always there. I'm glad you feel you can talk to us! Talking is so great - think you should find a therapist you can talk to every month - I'm working on that now too. Emily is truly wonderful but I think someone outside of your circle might be very helpful!! Xanax does that to me too! LOL. Totally get the posts on the chain link - OMG they are soooo hard to get out!!

You truly have a gem in Emily. 💕 Take a tip from Bing Crosby and the blessings song from White Christmas. “When you’re worried and you can’t sleep, count your blessings instead of sheep. Prayers sent for healing and help with the anxiety. Like others have said, I understand how that anxiety is. I'm a believer in trying to keep my stress levels as low as I possibly can because it can be like a snowball effect. Have you been able to do any meditation? Relaxation when you can get it is important and helpful. Remember, you're not alone. Hugs

My husband has an aortic aneurysm that we found during an ER visit. He sees a cardiologist every year for images to see if it has changed. We go together to the appoinents. It is hard not to worry, but it is what we have to do. I have anxiety and depression also along with my own medical problems. I can only say that gardening and hanging out with chickens helps me stay steady. So, I garden and hang out with chickens and share my fears and concerns with my husband. We have been married 38 years and are fortunate to have a relationship in which we share everything--each helping to carry the burdens of the other. The hardest losses shared have been the illness and passing of his parents and my father. Sometimes you think you can't do another hard thing. And then you do and you get through. Take care and know that your gardening and farming videos help your viewers have an outlet-- place to learn gardening things, but also a place to sit a bit and unwind. Thanks for doing that for me! ❤

In 2022, my husband's health became our entire focus with a scary diagnosis. (Not the same as yours, Brian, so I have nothing to offer there). However, I was completely overwhelmed with anxiety. Couldn't eat, couldn't sleep, couldn't function. I understand everything you are going through on that front. I must say that you are very self-aware and you understand what your thoughts do...( when I learned about "catastrophizing", I thought the word was created to describe me!!). It is ALL totally understandable. It is not being whiny or cranky. You are thinking, saying, and doing all the right things (hurray for CBT!!) but I understand that the waiting is still so very hard. Keep moving. Keep focusing on the things you love. (this is where you have helped me tremendously, btw!!!) Keep redirecting those thoughts. Keep practicing your cognitive strategies. You will get through this. Information is power. And I believe (and pray) that the positive results from this MRI will continue to lessen the anxiety you experience each January. It will get better!! 💜💚💙💚💜💚💙💚💜

Dear dear friend the emotions are natural and it is hard to overlook, many of us have you covered in prayer. So, hang in there!!! I know what you are going thru, my wife had 4 heart attacks in March -April 2010 and has had 4 more since then with the latest being 12 /27/2022 at which time they started talking transplant. She got a pacemaker 01/25/23 but still in December 2023 they want a transplant and we go thru all of the emotions again and she now 52 way to young for all this ,and you are source of relief for me .I love watching you and the homestead grow. Stay positive and know that GOD is in control. By the way have you ever thought of simply moving the chain link fence and investing just your time. Most sincerely with LOVE my brother. All is well with YOU!!!!!

Oh My, Brian thank you for your openness sharing this part of your journey. Much love and healing thoughts your way with hopes and prayers that, yet again, you'll have good news to further share. While not me, I do have an acquaintance, some years your senior who did have an aneurysm that required treatment. As she was in the health field, herself, she realized she was having a problem. She successfully had surgery, went through a time of recovery, and is back raising dogs and also retired. Keep busy and dont be too hard on yourself when you'r triggered and having a hard day. You're doing a great service sharing ALL of who you are. Thank you!

As a retired MRI tech I want to thank you for not trashing the MRI machine experience. The angiography scans don't take as long because they are usually just a couple of sequences. I just got the news that I have the big "C". I have been having scans and doctors appointments for several months trying to figure out what treatments/surgery should be done. It is hair raising to say the least. I keep telling my husband "I don't want to be the patient". I have been doing hobbies to keep busy. Please keep us in the loop on how you are doing. . Your homestead looks so good, even in January. Prayers to you and your family.
