Hello, I represent the Sleeper society, which has been advocating how good the sleep spell is as a single target combat disable at higher levels for 3 years now. I'm glad that someone has once again proven the validity of our long time advocacy.

I never thought that magic missile could be an instant execution for unconscious players, and now I'm scared what Cory will do with this knowledge :s

The video was great fun, thanks to the cast! 🙂 As Colby pointed out, burst builds are the strongest for these setups by far. So the overwhelming victory of Colby's team was not a surprise. Nevertheless, I liked the Druid team. It was so flavorful. What I liked less is that Torrey's Kobold build was so overpowered because she always had advantage due to Pack Tactics. I think for a setup like this, a random roll every turn whether or not there was sunlight might have helped a bit to balance this.

About 15 minutes in, I can't help but feeling this type of thing could do with having perhaps each character's health (and maybe other statistics) listed along the sides of the screen, to help people like me who struggle to keep track of things when casually viewing. I'm sure that would add a ton of work, and so in the future if you choose to do that for one of these, I'd love to offer my services, and chat about ideas to make it not a clutter. Really excited to see who wins! Keep up the good work!

late to this. was a busy last couple of days. cory's intro was so fun! getting into it now. preston made such a powerful play to start. kudos! this imo shows why decent initiative is important. man, cory's turn takes long. hahah. i think this is why dm's hate summoners. fun to watch though but i could imagine tory like tapping her fingers waiting and waiting. as far as unconscious while wild shaped, the druid will revert to normal form but remain asleep in normal form. will definitely say this was better than the battle royale! great work team! :) more pvp please in the future and here's to more milestones ahead! ;)

Very cool. One thing (unless it's changed?) Is when you ready a spell you cast that spell and holding it requires concentration. Which I actually really like as a mechanic. Also, really shows how the theory of 'best damage' rounds often aren't possible or ideal in a real scenario with multiple opponents, cover etc.

The biggest difference with PvP is the HP to dmg ratio IMO - players tend to be much more glass cannons, which makes certain effects far stronger (and makes it a lot more volatile). Starting so close and packed together also adds to the volatility - not seen too much here with the two AOEs not doing *that* much damage, but winning initiative and tossing down a pair of fireballs could have just ended some PvP matches in the first round. Especially with so many optimized builds ;) High level PvP is also tough to say with everything. People have so many abilities and spells, decisions take a long time, etc - the critical role high level PvP FFAs are also good examples of that, lasting hours. I do think they can be a lot of fun, but does require the right mix of characters/players to really have the best time. It was enjoyable to watch this for sure!

This is fun to watch, letting the chaos unravel. Would be good to see more of these maybe even in a tournament format. I know editing ain't easy but it would be great to see health bars as well as each players class and name next to each individual player.

In round 1, the elephant defiantly would have had to spend more movement while moving out of the mud. It doesn't matter if the front of the mini is not in difficult terrain, it matters if any part of the mini is.

I can't throw anything at my players that is actually a challenge for them, we have a big group, and any combat that is a challenge takes way too long. BUUUUUUUT, when I turn them on each other, that's when combat is a challenge, and they actually do get knocked out. I've only done that twice, over the course of 2 1/2 years, but been some of the best combat.

Great work. Really enjoyed the combat. To avoid the bunching up at combat start maybe allow players to choose where they start in their 3rd of the map. And allow 1 turn at combat start where you cant move but can cast spells that only effect yourself and willing creatures.

Now that druids have revivify as a spell option I wonder how differently this fight would have played out. This was great to watch I enjoy the setup rules you use I'll definitely be adding to my arsenal of DM tools.

The losing team lost because they didn't have a bard. Bard w/twilight cleric dip, advantage on initiative (super rare) plus more, big for pvp. Close quarters use Dissonant Whispers, then get a free reaction attack, use cutting words for prevention, cast some fireballs and conjure animals (lore bard), polymorph into a t-rex and win. I was really surprised no one polymorphed. Do a video on that.

Fun fight to watch. Only got one "complaint" (and that's more of a personal pet peeve than an actual complaint), but it really annoys me when people excessively talk and carry on during another player's turn. lol

How did she do two scorching rays on the same turn. I thought you could only cast one leveled spell on a turn, even with action surge?

revivify "not revenge mr auto correct" is in the druid list now because of tasha ... ouchi. Uncouncue remove wild shape is one of the most hated things tbh. like what do you mean a druid cant sleep in their owl form ???
