Please please please keep us updated for its release because now I really want it lmao thank you for the list. Awesome as always and all the new recommendations!
In 1982 I was 6 years old and discovered my dad's records. In The Court Of The Crimson King was in there. Got my mom to put it on for me. Life changed!!!! From 21st Century Schizoid Man to Talk To The Wind. My six year old mind was blown! Plus his Black Sabbath records.... Thanks Dad!!!!
Wow, you've chosen some incredible albums! Yes, the Nirvana records are really something special. The AC/DC record in particular has completely changed my life. That's how I got into hard rock
I like that you have Bleach here, as it was also one of the records that changed my life. I was 16 in 89, and a girl i worked with - who was also 16, and who I had a huge crush on- had a small studio apartment on Capitol Hill in Seattle that was payed for by her dad as an alternative for her being homeless. She put a cassette of Bleach on and it blew my mind. I had never heard anything like them before. I was super into punk, and darker wave stuff at the time, but Bleach was edgy, soulful, gritty, and loud. Was like nothing else around at the time, and embodied the streets of the rainy dark backwater the city was before the tech boom and before any of these bands got famous. I remember doing crystal with her for my first time - when it was more of a drug you did at clubs, when it was called crystal and not meth. Then driving in a car with her and a junkie friend of hers to get crystal, and listening to them debate whether or not they would shoot up - as they've never done it before The girl said she would like to do it, and when the car stopped at the dealers apartment, they went up stairs and I left. I would never touching the drug again, and pretty never see her again. But that's what that album reminds me of, If it were a perfume I would add all of those senses.
Great video as allways! Sometimes, the music is memory and also can change you're mind, and be able to do great things. Regards from Argentina, the land of Pappos Blues!
Wow man. Wow. Synchronistic serendipity. Like brings like energy. Sympathetic magic. Straight up law of attraction. Dude. I’ll never forget your story about the first collection you bought and the duke ellington album you pulled out when you asked the universe for a sign. If you think that was a coincidence you’re crazy man. You followed destiny to the destination
Some of mine: Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream/Adore Elliot Smith - Either Or Jeff Buckley - Grace Janis Joplin - Pearl The Who - Quadrophenia Alice in Chains - Jar of Flies Bob Dylan - Bringing it all Back Home/Time out of Mind Counting Crows - August and Everything After Pet Sounds GNR - Appetite for Destruction Weezer Blue Album
WITCH and your love of that album is what honestly opened my own dive into the rabbit hole. When I mentioned Zamrock to my mother after watching the video when you first debuted when you picked it up her response was "Yeah we knew of it but it wasn't mainstream " I guess I can blame you for me collecting African records. 😆 Great video bud.
I smile every time I see that cover photo from the Bill Evans/Jim Hall "Undercurrents" album. I was fascinated by the photo and after doing some research, I discovered that it was taken up the road from where I grew up. I took my first swimming lessons there, too. Very cool to see it again. Dave
Thank you for sharing such special stories. I can't even imagine listening to "Court of the Crimson King" while being in labor. Your wife must be very cool. 😃 I just picked up that John Mayer record this past weekend. I love the acoustic set and his blues guitar playing blew me away. Take care.

Hi Dyla, I was very pleased to see you citing the Flat Duo Jets, because it seems to me that rockabilly is almost entirely absent from the vinyl community and even more so Psychobilly, for example the Meteors, Demented Are Go, I have never seen mentioned, though I have seen reference to the Cramps and the Reverend Horton Heat. I wondered whether you have explored this genre? With all good wishes, Nick
So man I have to share with you. This is the second video I have ever watched of yours and you have floored me with your picks. I know a lot of music and you pull stuff out I’ve never heard of. I am listening to Morgen now. I can see why you’d pay $200 for this album
That guitar nearly made me faint. For a split second I thought it was Alvin Lee's, my favourite guitar player ever. The one he used at Woodstock and everywhere, which of course was a 335, but looks very similar.
Cool man, thanks 🤘 edit: hope to see a record by you and on your label, when you get the songs the way you want them. Man you were music hungry as a kid huh? 😁 it moves me to picture you diving dumpsters for music of any kind.different times.. if i had known back then i wouldve mailed you a bunch of records

I used to keep my records outside of the jacket like that for years, but then i stopped. I know people do it because it protects from ring-wear but I concluded that the jacket has many purposes and one of those is to protect the record. I'd rather protect the record at the expense of the jacket than protect the jacket at the expense of the record. Any thoughts?
You must be referring to hurricane Hugo at Myrtle Beach. I used to go on vacation at the Spingmaid Beach part of Myrtle Beach right up from the strip. My granparents ran a putt putt course there.
I was 24 too when my first son was born, which incidentally was yesterday 2/26/xx. At that time though "Court Of The Crimson King" had been released not quite 4 1/2 years. Just one of those things from the aether...
Nobody talks about the best sounding pressing of bleach but for me the most affordable and best sounding one ive heard is the 2000 pressing with SP34 on the deadwax.
I have an idea for a video you might like to do. In my opinion, there isn't enough love shown for the Discogs community as users/individuals. Three of my records that changed my life were found by paying close attention to three users; Eirikstim (that was Ken Boothe - Let's Get It On), rastislav.sutak (for Tuck & Patti - Love Warriors) and savakntr (Jennifer Warnes - Famous Blue Raincoat) who sadly looks like is no longer active. The Ken Boothe and Jennifer Warnes are in my collection. Highlighting some of the users you follow may be a good idea, because not a lot of personal information is shown on each profile. Some other records that changed my life include: Savage Garden self-titled also in my collection as vinyl, Scientist - In Dub, and Grant Green - Live at the Lighthouse.
