Bianca Salming almost certainly wasn't doing anything to cheat. As a former track & field athlete I can attest to the fact that many athletes make adjustments to almost anything on their body to ensure that everything is perfect before the start. I've adjusted my socks, shoes, shorts, tightened my spikes, taken off my watch. I'm sure others jave done the same because I remember being asked to take a watch or jewelry to the side not only by my own teammates but members (friends) on the opposing teams. This picture was not taken because they thought she was cheating. It was taken because it appears that her ankle or foot was hurting or they just thought it was a nice shot of an attractive girl in skimpy tight shorts. Or, maybe they just wanted to get as many shots as possible of every great athlete, no matter what they were doing at the time. Edit: The picture doesn't look like it was mid race. It looks more like after the race because her left shoe is off entirely and it looks like she's either removing or putting on her right shoe.
If I was the blonde girl and you had my photo as the thumbnail to an “Athletes who got caught cheating” video. I would be so angry. I’d be worried she could sue.
@@BostonCedo Yeah, if you stopped mid race to take off your shoe and put it back on in a track race, you would be done even in a 10,000 m race. How dare she make sure she has comfortable shoes to gain an advantage over others with less comfortable shoes. (obviously not , they all make sure they are all happy with their shoes)
Armstrong was not just one random guy among many other doped pro cyclists. He was the only one that had a full mafia organization dedicated to his and his teammates doping. And when i say mafia that includes big muscles and threats on lives. All other doped cyclists when they got caught simply admitted their wrongdoing and took, the sanctions. Armstrong tried every leverage possible to evade sanctions, including constructing fake accusations against WADA members and sending someone to rob his file from the WADA building. But thankfully they had copies in other buildings and the prosecution was able to continue till the end. Armstrong was a dangerous egomaniacal mafia lord. That's what made him stand out among the general crowd of doped cyclists. And all his positive actions that only served building a positive facade for the public can't hide his true face.
Bianca Salming is the daughter of late and famous ice hockey star Börje Salming. She competes in Heptathlon and Long jump. Of cause, she pressed those two buttons on her shoe to prove that the infamous Swedish secret sports propaganda ministry and cheat evolving tactics was right there. She showed to you all right there: Now I can run a millisecond faster. Putting her on the thumbnail was abysmal, with all those real cheaters. It's called for a lawsuit for slandering.
Stopped watching right after the Marion Jones bit. She was banned for using substances (rightfully so), but she was NOT caught cheating on live TV, as your title states. Another clickbait title, another well deserved thumbs down.
@@littleblackduck3134 Every billionaire charity in the US is just an easy way to both evade taxes and gain public support in the US. Whatever they pay to the charity is less than what they would pay in taxes. They pocket the difference, actually giving less to the community than they were supposed to. And Americans praise them for that, not understanding the trick. When it was officially proven that he was not just any doped cyclist but the one who organized every detail of the doping strategy for his entire team he displayed his true face: a dangerous criminal ready to use dirty methods to evade the accusation. Threatening the lives of witnesses, hiring crooks to break in and burn an official building in the hope of destroying proofs and make it look like an accident. Very far from being a charitable person. Of course the WADA who had been on his back for more than 10 years didn't take any risk when they finally got irrefutable proof. The first thing they did was to make several copies and store them secretly in several places. They knew the guy. They knew all the efforts he had made for more than 10 years to remove all traces, only leaving rumors, borderline blood tests and inhuman performances but nothing to build a solid case in court. They knew when he makes a mistake they can't fumble because there is certainly no second chance. So the threats, robbery and arson were just extra proof of his full guilt and twisted way of thinking.
I watched Armstrong for years every year….that SOB broke my heart. Not so much that he cheated, but that he tried and succeeded in bringing others down with lies on top of lies.
Exactly, and I don't feel sorry for him. Having and beating cancer doesn't make up for the criminal you are. I feel this video went way easy on him, even sounding like it was promoting him at one point. The guy is a POS and always will be IMO.
Doping was ramped through cycling back then and that is fact. There have been many cyclists who have come since then and admitted how bad it was. If you weren't doping you had no chance. I agree he cheated but how was he the only one they went after to that extent and given a lifetime ban. They should have went after everyone like that.
I remember the Maradona one at the time. I couldn't stand the guy myself with all his fake foul falls and theatrics. Why if so talented does one feel the need to cheat? The referee in that match was a travesty. However Maradona got away with a lot of "antics". Yes the girl athlete I didn't get why one would insinuate she was cheating.
That blond girl is Swedish heptathlon athlete Bianca Salming. If you recognise her last name, yes, she is the daughter of the late Börje Salming. And no, there was absolutely nothing wrong with her shoes. But she made a much nicer thumbnail than any of the other "cheaters" and I'm sure her shoe was not what made the photographer take the photo or the uploader chose it.
@@paulaeppley3569 It doesn't sound like AI. Too many accurate inflections when he talks. You can tell this is an actual person who understands the words and content.
I'm 20 minutes in (skipping most of it) and so far only one ath-uh-lete was actually caught cheating on live tv. The rest were for alleged drug use, and one person who only ran the last mile of a marathon (not caught on live tv though).
whoever posted this: I have a question for you. Have you ever heard of being sued for "defamation of character?" If you haven't, I suggest you look it up quickly and remove this immediately!
The truth is that steroids and other drugs are still used heavily today, including for the Olympics. That's just a fact of reality. It isn't whether people are doing them or not... it is whether they are beating the tests or not. In the 1970's we had no way of detecting steroids in athletes and literally every world record set during that time was done on doping. The reality of doping is that if you aren't doping and you're against somebody who is... you're LOSING, PERIOD. There is no such thing as a natty going up against somebody on steroids who is at the same level genetically and beating the person on steroids. It is a logical fallacy to believe that that is happening. In reality all world records were set by steroids and other drugs in the 1970's. So, records being broken today can only be done via steroids and other drugs today. It is a medical and logical certainty.
The soccer clownery is ridiculous. I thought basketball had some real actors until I saw these soccer athletes rolling around on the grass like they’re having a seizure because a ball never touch their head lol.
"CAUGHT Cheating on Live TV" is not the same as "Cheating on live TV". For example, no one noticed Marion Jones doping right in the middle of one of her televised sprints and alerted officials who immediately disqualified her. The "caught" part usually came after the "Live TV" event.
one answer to the question why they cheat, at 10:51 what the reason is: because all people are vein, they just want the power and glory, they don't care about fair and 'sportsmanship' like behaviour, doing things for fun alone, not just for the money!! (also they don't get to keep the medals, its their country of origin who have it!)- so it's partly the pressure of the country itself, and their own aspirations on the world stage, that force this kind of behaviour. thats why some of us don't watch it!, because we feel that is what we are supporting, as well as the greed of the news stations which show it, as those reporters get power and money from this crap too.
Um... Gatlin (a male athlete) got banned because he tested positive for Testosterone. Isn't testosterone something you would detect in all male athletes? Something is missing from the story.
the level of testosterone, there's a baseline and a natural upper limit/value. Test over that and you're doping unless you can prove a biological anomaly.
Yes, testosterone is a natural hormone (even women have some of it). However, there are normal limits, which are set generously, above which doping is the only realistic explanation. That's particularly so when the testosterone level in an athlete increases a lot over time. What is more, it's possible to detect testosterone esters, which are a pre-cursor to increased testosterone levels due to doping. Those are not generated endogenously (that is they are unnatural). There are also tests for the ratio of testosterone to epitestosterone in urine, which if abnormal indicate doping too. There is also the fact that Gatlin's trainer has had no less than eight of his athletes banned due to doping. Also, it appears that Gatline has been "cooperative" with the anti-doping authorities.
Ever since the "hand of god" I have held Maradona in the upmost contemt. He may have been the most gifted ball artist ever, but he was a lowly cheat on the field - no greatness comes from that. Imagine Beckenbauer, Cryuff , Di Stefano, Pele doing something like that? Not happening.
Nice video clip. I hate cheaters. Athletes who participate to win by any means has no moral value, therefore should be banned for ever from participating in any sport. Because they are not Athletes they are scammers and scammers are bad regardless of what they do.
@frommatorav1 They definitely belong there. No matter how they do it or how you see it, cheating is cheating. The purpose of cheating is to try to win by getting unfair advantage over the opponent. Which is not good for any sport.
@@gebriye1 Way to be able to analyze the degrees of getting an unfair advantage. #8- Jokingly tapping the football forward with your foot like Tony Romo did, is not the same as doing steroids. The football was placed back on the line of scrimmage and no advantage was had. If you noticed, he never actually showed that play in the video because everyone would have come to the same conclusion, that it didn't belong on a list for cheating. #12- Deflategate was rigged from the start. Footballs in the first half of the playoff game between Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots were found to be at a lower pressure than measured in the locker room before the game (a warm locker room). It has been scientifically proven that inflated objects lose air when they go from a warm environment to a cold environment, which caused the footballs to have less air. Those footballs or new footballs were inflated more at halftime and used in the second half of the game, played outdoors in the winter (weather was raining in the low 40's) The Patriots were up 7 at the half and with more inflated footballs in the 2nd half, won by over 30. You can tell by the score, what a huge advantage Tom Brady had with the less inflated footballs in the first half. What they called Spygate, was done by the coaching staff, not the players, so why should Tom Brady be mentioned, when he had no part in it. #9- Dwight Howard using a sticky spray on his hands, is so minor of an advantage, to give him a reputation of a cheater is unfair. (Not on this list) Ty Cobb sliding with his spikes up to try and hurt opposing middle infielders is to get an unfair advantage but it wasn't cheating. It did make him an asshole, though.
Starts off talking about some athletes caught after the event, but these are 20 caught live on TV. First one was caught after the event. Anyone caught "doping" will be after the event or they never would have been allowed to compete. I'm not sure these doping things should even be a thing. Performance enhancing drugs? What sbout coffee? It is well known athletes drink 20 cups before an event. You think they just love the taste?
Lance Armstrong got what he deserved. He would vilify drug cheats constantly, and say that all drug cheats should be banned for life, lose all sponsorship etc. So when he was caught out for being one, he got EXACTLY what HE demanded to happen to drug cheats! Hypocrisy is great, isn't it?
Odd that you left out that you left out the controversy that Ben Johnson's drug test showed that the drug was taken sometime within hours of the race and that Carl Lewis' (boyfriend), André A. Jackson, was in the testing lab at the time the samples were being tested and that the steroid used can give you enhanced results over a period of weeks but mostly months. Also the steroid, Ben Johnson later admitted to using PED's), was not one known to being used by Johnson. So, it made no sense that for that steroid to be in his system when prolong use was not discovered or proven ( but later admitted). Ben was cheater but remember 8 of the 10 racers in that race have been caught cheating during their careers.
The question isn't “why do they use steroids knowing they'll get caught? ”, it's “how are all the others getting away with it?” because ain't none of them not juicing one way or another, you wouldn't stand a chance. Everyone does it, only certain ones get caught.
I thought this video was going to be so-called "trans men" beating the ever-living crap out of actual female athletes. You should make that video next, it could be a weekly series.
Thank you for calling out deflate-gate. I’m sick and tired of people believing Brady didn’t notice a ball was under-pressured when a defensive linesman noticed. You tell me who handles the ball more often. Brady&Bilichek combined to cheat in countless ways - we’ll never know most of them unless other Patriots players and coaches decide to come clean.
Messing with her shoe to make it easier to run? If that were so, why didn't the shoe manufacturer do that at the factory? Their advertising would be "You don't have to dick with our shoes; we did it for you!"
Why isn't Oscar Pistorius, his blades were longer than his legs would have been, as well as being a murderer. His whole character seems to be cheating.
Putting Tony Romo on this list for that toe tap he did that he wasn't even trying to hide is weak dude. And half of these aren't even "caught on camera".
Armstrong got the punnishment he deserved Maradona wasn't anything till. His hand of God stunt and he was rewarded but like many others his ego led to his downfall along with drugs such a silly waste of his great talent .didn't Marion Jones break up with her weight lifting special friend when he failed drug testing ??
@@johnthring3437 Agree re Maradona. I watched that match at the time. The way some humoured all his bad antics, pathetic. The referee also quite deservedly got a lot of stick after that match. It is sad when so called sportsmen get applauded for bad behaviour rather than their talent. It is so sad when sportsmen with such talent spoil it by feeling the need to behave in such a way as he did.
