Many people have held the mantle that requires them to defend the nation. Iron Man has his armor, Hulk has stretchy purple shorts, and the Star-Spangled Man with a plan wears the flag on his chest and shield. From Steve Rogers to Bucky, Sam, and several others, the stars and stripes have been on full display in a large variety of ways. In today’s topic of conversation, these outfits are examined from how the characters acquired them, as well as their effectiveness in protection, versatility, and fighting capabilities. Which of these combat-ready uniforms will prove to be the best, and which should Steve leave in the closet?
Too many times, a character has been failed by the ensemble they chose to wear into battle. I have to imagine that Thor going for the head wouldn’t have even been an option if Thanos wore something with a little more neck protection. The ability to store weapons, stop bullets and fly from time to time all differentiate the outfits that Steve and so many others have worn into battle. Each has an iconic look that is instantly recognizable by the fans and the enemies of the Super Soldier. The many times these heroes have seen combat prove that their equipment and gear are the most reliable and powerful in the game.
